I was sleeved the same day, I'm down 11.6, we're right on track Jana, sleeved 1/31/13

I am 7 days post op from having a revision at mi doctor, I was impressed and completely felt they could take care of me. I chose the dr I felt most comfortable with and that's just where he happen to practice. Do your homework and go with your gut, that's the best way! Jana, sleeved 1/31/13

I used a "cheaper" dr that was in a clinic not an actual hospital, I felt confident because I had researched the dr and the clinic. That would be my suggestion, ask about the specific drs and clinics and you will get much feed back. Good luck!

So many questions about Mexico
janarae replied to Amberlydw8's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had a revision 7 days ago, I went through Mexico bariatric.com and dr Cabrera and Venezuela were my dr. Their sleeve cost is $4,500 (revision was 5,600)includes air port shuttle to and from 3 night hotel and 2 nights hospital. Also accommodation for someone to come with you. You had a coordinator that meets you at the hotel and checks on you daily, he was the go between with the dr even though I saw them everyday in the hospital. The care I received in Mexico is the best I've ever received, I've had multiple surgeries in the states. If you look into dr check out how many surgeries they do in a day, even you find the right one you'll just know. Good luck Jana, sleeved 1/31/13 -
I went to Mexico for my revision, 2 days in the hospital and 2 days in a hotel. I'm glad I did that so that I could rest when I needed, I have 3 kids that are under 4 my 1 year old doesn't understanding why mommy can't pick her up but the 2 year old sure understands mommy can't chase him when he's noddy. My parents are amazing, and have stepped right in while daddy's at work. I am blessed! Jana, sleeved 1/31/13

Isn't the marriot so nice, I was sleeved 5 days ago and had a wonderful experience with them, I hope you have the same. There is a blonde nurse with braces that I nicknamed nurse bossy, if you see her tell her the lady that named her nurse bossy said hi. She was so funny -
I was so glad I had a coordinator, I paid 5,600 for a revision and a coordinator. 7,500 seems really high.

If it was an out patient procedure I would do it here because I prefer my home and my husbands care but for longer stay I by far got better and more attentive care in Mexico. My recent stay, there were 7 patients and 6 nurses or nurses aides, I was never waiting for anything. Push the call button and someone was immediately there. I'm not saying you can't or won't get care like that here but my experience was better there.

I used Cabrera and they were fantastic, saw me everyday in the hospital, I went through Mexico bariatric. Have questions, ask away

I'll be back to Mexico for arms when it's time and anything else that will need tuck or lifted. Im newly sleeved, 5 days post op, so it will be a bit but already planning and budgeting.
-
I was going to say that also, my pcp is very supportive and has already been talking to me about a tummy tuck ( my insurance will pay) I love my pcp so he is all the aftercare I need. That is important.

I agree, I had my band in Mexico 4/11 and when I decided to have a revision I had no problem deciding to come back to Mexico, my experience was far better for these 2 surgeries then any of my others in the us. The concern and care the nurses and dr have in Mexico by far out shine those who cared for me in the US.

By choosing Mexico because of money you are not sacrificing care or professionalism with the surgeon. Choosing the right dr makes a world of difference.

Amazon3, how many days pos op did you go home? I was just sleeved in Mexico on the 31st, my insurance will pay for my tummy tuck but I will most definitely need arms done. I'm wanting to start preparing and gather info.

My Complete Story...Pre op to 3 months post op

I am sitting in the San Diego Airport getting ready to go home after being sleeved in Mexico, I had a completely different experience. I am so sorry you did not, I too researched and checked many different doctors and am very pleased with my decision. I was going to go through one that a friend used but because of bad reviews I chose differently, I really hope you reconsider your choice of not giving your dr information. The only way for someone to make an informed decision is to have all the info the good the bad and the ugly. If someone had shared their experience about your doctor you probably would not have chosen him and your experience would have been much different. Nobody has to go through this ever again if bad experiences are shared. I'm glad you're doing well. -
