Thank you so much. It is getting easier and your right nothing beats moms cooking but yes having to explain to your parents is hard, but I'm glad that both of our mom's understand exactly what we are trying to do and is helping us do it also.

Hi everyone. I am considering possibly getting my first tattoo. My surgery is on April 9th. Do you think the tattoo might interfere with my surgery. Also I am anemic too.

I have to say that I did so much research before I made this decision. I though for sure this is what I wanted. Then I had my surgery on April 9th. I never prepared myself for the recovery. That's what I regretted. The staples were unbearable because it was pulling on my skin. But once they took them out I was fine. Then you have your liquid diet. Let's just say I no longer like soup. I'm sick and tired of it. Then I went to puree/mushy foods. And now I'm on my solids. I never though I would get here. I think that's what people are having problems with its the food portion of it. All you see is so many commercials of food. Food you can no longer eat. Then you have people who are inconsiderate and continuously offer you food you no longer can't eat. That is very frustrating. My journey has been a hard one. And honestly I don't ser it getting easier if I submit myself to the can't have, can't do attitudes. What makes it easy for me is that my husband has done this with me and we are going through this journey together. I started off from the beginning of my journey at 262 lbs, now I'm at 219 lbs. I no longer have diabetes and haven't taken medicines for it since after the surgery. I hope this helps answer the question on why people regret it.

That's great. I go for 8 day check up today. That would be nice if I got the go ahead for soft mushy foods lol but i know it's too soon. Good luck and can't wait to see your recipes in here.

My surgery is April 9 th. I start my liquid diet on Monday. So excited and ready to start my life again without diabetes.

I was going to get a tattoo this Saturday March 9th, but I'm scared that they may tell me that I've compromised my surgery. But I will ask the Dr and see when I can have the surgery. Thanks for the advice. Yes I've been doubling up in my iron pills. Also considered taking liquid iron but I want to do research on that first.

Yes I am. My doctor told me that I'm down 3 pints of blood and I need to double up on my iron pills. I'm so nervous that I've already told my sister's what to do if I should lose more blood.

I was given such great advice and I would like to share it with you. Call the insurance. My husband and I called and they were the one to tell us that they approved it. Good luck I hope you are approved.
