Chin up... You can not live your life by rule of others. You are doing this because you want to have a healthier life. The man in that video used a personal trainer as his tool, you are using surgery as your tool... (Your boss is just a tool!) This is important to you that's what matters... Don't let them spoil your excitement!!

Best word of advise.... Find a psychologist to talk to NOW! You need tools to deal with your emotional eating because now that you can not do that you need a new way to cope. There is nothing wrong with it... You realizing its a problem is the first step. Just like wls is a tool for you to use for a healthy body... Now you need tools for a healthy mind, so that your mind and body will heal together and you will truly be a healthier you! Best of luck! We are all here... -
Did you keep your surgery a secret?
busybeingme replied to KanesMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery date is march 20... At first when my his and I went to our wls seminar.. I told no one. Not even my family! That was in dec. since we are both having the procedure done (he is going over the summer) we were unsure if who to tell. His aunt passed away back in the 80's from "stomach stapling" surgery due to an incompetent Dr. and hosp negligence. So we have not been 100% forth coming with his family as of yet... I have only told a few close friends and select family members. I have gotten good and neg responses.... I plan on telling lore ppl as my pre-op journey progress. That all being said: it's a very personal choice. Do what feels right to you... You will find your attitude will change the closer you get to surgery. In went from telling no one.. To a few who matter... Best of luck. "Those who judge you will be judged themselves, don't let your happiness rest in their judgement" -

Hating Myself & Afraid Less than 6 Weeks Out...Long Post...Needing Support
busybeingme replied to deedeemuffin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know it's easier said than done... But start walking... Start exercising get moving... Remember with out the proper amount of liquids your body will retain all that you put into it because your not giving it enough... Also...Find a support group. Face to face... You will get some of the encouragement and also some tricks that will help. Te chicken nuggets, and the flavored coffee drinks are yummy yes... But they are empty calories and they are not what your body needs... Give your self a pat on the back for taking the first step... Admitting you need a little help. Next, pull your shoulders back, chin up, chest out and celebrate your weight loss. Everyone is is different. You will see the biggest change in weight at 3 months that is due to full healing and full swelling being gone.... Go back to the basics...remember you will be able to enjoy all the foods you want and like again... Just not for a bit... Relax and smile... Keep us posted!! -

Medical alert bracelets! GET THEM!
busybeingme posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok... Found out tonight in support group if you have any type of bariatric surgery you must never have a NG tube, unles a gastroenteritis does it. It was advised to get a medical alert bracelet or I'd tag ::: No NG Tube. Bariatric patient. (procedure and year). Also make sure in your wallet with your I'd and insurance info you have a card with your surgeons info incase of an emergency. -
Go for the work out not the fashion... Find something comfortable and go for it... Trust me ppl Don't care what you wear as long as your covered up... As you loose your skin will loosen so put on a tighter shirt under so it will hold your skin... You will be fine.. Sweats, danskins or a thrift store since your size is going to be changing...

Idk what you do at the hosp. I work at the hosp where I'm getting mine done and I do patient care. I have already spoken privately with my boss because our schedules go in 6 weeks prior. To assure I will be off work. They are aware the date could be moved. I looked at it from the staffing point if view they can plan staffing and you could plan coverage or even alter your schedule. My boss has been great with altering my schedule so I can get all my testing done! I'm being sleeved on march 20!! Feb 20 I will call for my fmla coverage... -
Ok... I'm scheduled to be sleeved in march. During my pre op testing... I found out I have a small sliding hiatal hernia. I'm not going to lie... I've started having stomach pains and issues about 1-2 months ago every time I ate... But over the past week it's 100 worse. I just got my upper gi done last Monday. I see my surgeon on tue. Anyone have this that could not be sleeved? Out come... Any advise you could share about what to do, helps, hurts, ect...

I've been thinking a lot about eval coming up in two weeks... I am paying self pay so that I don't have to deal with insurance bs. My father walked out on my family when I was 13 I've paid lots and lots if money over the past 10 years for therapy... I'm not getting into any of that... I'm not gonna lie but I'm not gonna give too much info either... Strait down the middle... My husband his being sleeved this summer so no issues there.. 8 weeks but who's counting?? THIS GIRL!
