  1. If you were not eligible for disability prior to surgery, I am not sure what your disability would be post op. Unless of course, you developed some sort of complication that would make you unable to work after surgery. My Surgeon feels that his post op patients are healthier after surgery than before surgery.

    Fell off

It is all part of the process, brush yourself off, and look at this a one of the many learning experiences you will encounter during this journey. Be proud of yourself, you are doing great. This was just a small speed bump. Today is a new day!!!

I used Dr. Mitch Roslin. He works out of NYC. Do not know any of the surgeons on LI.
  6. You are doing great! Way to go. What a wonderful new life we are living.
  7. Oh Joe, I cannot tell you how moving your post was. You were able to put into words, how so many of your fellow sleevers are feeling. I know it must have been difficult to put onto paper, but now you are free. Anyone who knows or loves you will hopefully be able to look at your decision through your eyes, rather than through theirs. When I decided to have my surgery, I also told only a handful of people. I could not believe how many comments came back to me regarding my not needing the surgery as well as why don't you just try Weight Watchers. I did have positive support, but was amazed at the negative comments. Joe, success is the sweetest revenge. You, your wife and children are the ones who will be better off with your health improving. I am off of most of the meds that I was taking prior to surgery, I am down 42 lb. (sleeved 1/19) and now all I am hearing is how wonderful I look. Joe I can only tell you how wonderful I feel. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and posting. Be Well!
  8. I was sleeved Jan 19. I have lost 45 lbs. In the beginning, the weight came off quickly, now the weight loss is much slower. I have noticed that other postings are mentioning their weight loss is slowing down. I am not counting calories, but I am trying to make better choices for my foods. Trying to pick foods that are high in protein, but I do not always choose the healthiest foods. I need to work on getting more protein and to get my butt moving. If I do this, I am sure the weight would come off quicker. As far as fullness, I do notice when I eat a protein packed meal, I find I am satisfied with my 4 oz. and am not hungry for hours.
  9. Hi Jasleeve. So glad you are doing better. I am new to this site (sleeved 1.19) and did not see your previous posts. Congratulations and good luck with your upcoming surgery. If you would not mind, would you please tell me the name of the surgeon who is going to preform your surgery? I live in Yorktown Heights, and had my sleeve surgery done at Northern West. Hospital. Once I get to where I need to be, I am definitely going to look into having additional surgery for the excess skin and to make girls look perky again. Be well.
