Not fat enough? This is for Low BMI'ers

My BMI was 35 day I went to doctor, now 16 days later, I have lost 14 pounds, I am short 5'3, and didn't have health problems, but was headed in the wrong direction, I feel like a weight has been lifted, and to say this is the easy way out of dieting, they are wrong, its hard, not easy and painful. But I believe well worth it. Good luck to all you upcoming sleevers. mary

    2 weeks post op questions

I bought these fruit flavored protein drinks at walmart 13.00 for 6 of them 42 grams protein, I add to 1/2 of a vitamin zero water, that helps me, I do not drink 64 ounces a day, probably 1/2, no room and I am at day 15 today. I also have about 2 popsicles a day also, so maybe I get 45 ounces of fluids a day, I am short thought.
  5. I just got sleeved on the 18th, 1 week out I was having this weird pain, didn't think much of it, that was monday, then thursday I had a attack at night that was the worse, I had the chills so bad my teeth were chattering, I called doc on fri, he said it could be gallbladder, and I am like what? I told him I had family history, they all had it out, even day of surgery I said why not just take it out, he said no since I wasn't having issues, so now I am having issues, I have terrible pain in my right shoulder right now, I don't see him till next wed, who pays for this next surgery, me for them, I am self pay, so I am pissed about this, when they could have just taken it out. I do not want to go thru this again, I have to take tomuch time off work, and I don't get paid time off, very aggravated can you tell.

    Bread crumbs/Panko

I am going to use fiber one cereal, crush in a food processor or coffee grinder, add whatever spices to it and you can bread anything, I always cook skin and bone on, it makes meat taste better, I would peel skin off for now, maybe at 6 months ask your doctor if you can have it skin on, Mary

    Serving size for refried beans?

I use the small white ramikens from surlatable, for measureing, I packed in beans till about half full, used a mozzarella cheese stick, 2 tablespoons salsa, put in microwave, could eat 1/2, so save other half for lunch or dinner next day, without messing more dishes. I swear the hobbits took over my house, there is small dishes and spoons everywhere LOL
  8. Hi everyone, I was sleeved on the 18th, yesterday I started pureed foods, and man oh man, I was jonesing for some real food, I had a terrible attack last thursday night, all night long pain, sweating, called doc he said it might be my gall bladder (hoping not) anyways, I finally felt better on sunday so hubby and I went shopping and he asked if I needed anything and my answer was please go to taco bell drive thru and get me my first pintos and cheese. I ate half, saved the other half for dinner tonight, It saved me. and had no issues. so far I have tried, egg salad, cheese stick, refried beans with cheese and 1 t salsa, pineapple yogurt, and 5 saltine crackers and cream of tomato soup from costco. I am on puree this week only then soft foods. try and buy different flavor soups, it helps, I also had to smell my husbands pasta dish and licked his cheeseburger on day 11, LOL. That starving mode has left me though, very weird. Mary

    Day 4 post op

I just had mind on monday, and yesterday I just started full liquids, It was great, then I woke up around 3am with a ton of stomach pain, got up drank some water and some liquid loratap, 15 minutes later it didn't go away so I propped up on another pillow and that seemed to help, only going to do half full liquids today, just to be safe, I hate waking up in pain
  13. I love the costco brand protein choc shakes, easy to take with you for when you go back to work and they taste great and not expensive. I bought some prosaris fruit protein from the doc's office that is 2.9 ounces, I been drinking those the last 4 days and today was my first choc protein shake, I thought I would have a mucous problem but didn't, I still have 3 small doses of loratap, I am stretching it out for when my stomach is really flippin, going to try tomato soup maybe after 10 days just in case better safe then sorry.
  14. I had surgery on monday, today I tried my first protein choc drink, yogurt and cream of mushroom soup, no problems, but your tummy does the watoosie dance after you eat, I had to nap today for an hour and still taking meds, hope to be off of them by sunday. Anyone try tomato soup yet? My instructions say its ok to drink v8 or tomato juice. Mary

    Who's getting sleeved February 18?!?!

mine was monday two, taking loratab and a acid reflux pill since I had hernia repair also. trying to get liquids in first, dehydration will send you back to the hospital and I am not going there LOL
  19. I am only drinking a little at a time, no way I am at 64 ounces, I am only drinking the proasis protein since it is only 2.9 ounces and 25 grams protein, drinking 3 a day, till friday then saturday going to try the costco shakes, I am worried about barfing them up though, plus they are twice the amount. i am using a 2 ounce shot glass as a guide for my vitamin water, I know I can drink 1 whole one at a time without any pain, they I wait about 10 minutes and do another but I forget to drink.

    surgery date feb 18

I had my surgery and hernia repair on monday. I am still on pain meds as needed, probably every 5 hours or so, but I do half a dose. I also take once a day an acid reflux pill. I tried some miso soup a little while ago and started having major spasms, won't be trying that again for a while, staying on clear liquids till saturday then going to try yogurt and my choc protein shakes. still not sleeping all night and still have loose stools. but better then I was. a progression like they say.

    panic X 2

Hi Mastiff Mama I to had surgery on monday, I am having some issues, was in the hospital for one night and I think it should have been 2. anyways, I was on major pain meds as I had a hernia repair also, today I am still afraid to drink my costco Protein shakes so my husband went and got me some more clear protein from the docs office. I am taking lora tap, or liquid vicodin, and pantoprazole for acid once a day. today I was feeling a little better but around noon was having major stomach pain so had some loratap and that solved it. I am trying real hard not to get dehydrated, not easy to drink constantly. I am hoping to off meds by this weekend and try yogurt and pudding, I have not vomited once since I have been home but having issues on the other end. Keep in touch. I need to lose 60 pounds. Mary
