confused with Tijuana drs. cabrera garcia; fernando garcia; dr kelly help
Kristy Giovanelli posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am confused I really need to just make a decision. I like Dr. Kelly but christy with Mexico bariatric center gave me quote on him and Dr. Garcia I don't see Dr.Garcia on their site. But alaina and Cecilia from wlsclinic said no one can get Dr.Kelly except her its false advertising but Dr Kelly doesn't do surgery at mi doctor he would do it at a smaller hospital through wlsclinic. So who is honest? So I went to alma at ready 4 a change with Dr. Fernando Garcia still at mi doctor hospital and that seemed good and legit but I thought drgarcia is the one with an asst I read about but that turns out to be through medical tourism I learner of Dr. Ismael cabrera Garcia with asst. Dr. Louisiana valenzuela Sanchez at mi doctor. I want to go to mi doctor I think but I'm confused on legitimacy and who is best for me thanks k -

Post Op Protein Shake and Calorie
Kristy Giovanelli posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all, I get sleeved on Wednesday March 20, I am a little scared but super excited. My friend told me (who had a band) that her basic protein shake consisted of ice/protein/ 1/2c yogurt/ almond silk/ 2 splenda/banana/breakfast essentials dry. I have for my protein Synthrax Nectar Sweets; this sounds like a filling shake with a lot of calories? Is this the type of shake I am to be making when I come home from my surgery, I tried a lot of shakes premade and don't like the taste but I like that the calories are listed. I am getting my surgery in Mexico so I don't have a nutritionalist to ask. Thanks for any help -

Hi girls can you add me to, I'm on facebook, but I'm not that great at how to do it. I just want to make sure that private means my other facebook friends don't see it, I belong to a moms club and have lots of those women on my facebook and I don't want them to know I am having this surgery. Truthfully none of my family is being told only my husband and brother. My stats are 34yrs old currently 189lbs want to be around 140 and most importantly to stop ping ponging. I am 5'2" and female. I have no pictures with myself with my two kids 3 and 4 because I hate my weight so much. Thanks Kristy

March sleevers anyone?
Kristy Giovanelli replied to Jennifer616's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine is on March 20, glad to see there are some others that are march 20th as well. I had to have both my feet operated on last week for bunionettes, I am on bedrest now, I just hope I can walk through the airport and the pain between my feet and tummy won't be overwhelming. The surgery on the feet really distracted me for the past couple months thinking of that surgery. Now that its done, I know the big surgery is coming quick. Anyone got ideas of what they are going to bring with them. Is anyone bringing someone with them. My brother is coming with me, my husband is staying home with the kids. -

Kristy Giovanelli replied to Kristy Giovanelli's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I'm not so scared about how fast or slow the weight comes off, I am scared I don't ever want the weight to come back on. I am a horrible yo yo dieter I have lost weight previously only to put it back on even faster. Any advice to that, any time I google long term data it says none is available yet on this procedure. I guess that is my real fear. Thanks everyone for help. I'm not going to worry about bougie size. -

confused with Tijuana drs. cabrera garcia; fernando garcia; dr kelly help
Kristy Giovanelli replied to Kristy Giovanelli's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
See that is why I am confused, so many people on here said Dr. Kelly doesn't have coordinator, and Cecilia Reyes from WLSClinic said he doesn't use coordinators that she is directly connected with him and anyone else who claims to "use him" is "False Advertising" exact words. I like Dr. Kelly's credentials, love that I may not have a drain tube!! Christy with Mexico Bariatric Center says she does have Dr. Kelly and at Mi hospital (which I also heard through the vine he doesn't do surgery there) Christy told me she doesn't know why I am getting misleading info but she is a coordinator for Dr. Kelly and I can schedule him at Mi Hospital, I'm worried if I pay the extra for him its a bait and sitch or I am questioning the integrity of someone, Cecilia or Christy they both can't be telling the truth. I like what I read from lilolme said and its up to date she just had hers, and I just wish I heard a few others saying the same thing. Thanks for any help with this confusion -

Which protein is best for "our" needs?
Kristy Giovanelli replied to Renagade's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I'm a little scared, because a lot of you said nectar is great, well I'm going to have my surgery soon, and I was trying a last ditch diet!! But anyway I learned I really don't like the taste of protein shakes, I mean I put frozen berries in, almond milk, ice and it still tastes awful. If I don't like this is there any that I could possibly like, do I have to drink protein shakes after having this surgery. -

Hi first time on a forum, but I've been reading so much, thought I should join and say hi. I live in PA, and am looking to have gastric sleeve surgery in Mexico on March 20. Not sure who I am getting it with yet, but I'm ready to take the plunge! Thinking Dr. Kelly or Dr. Garcia I hear great things from everyone on here. I am 5'2" and weight 182, even my husband doesn't know that! He's not really that supportive, but is ok with it. I am married with two kids aged 3 and 4. I lose any weight and it comes back double. And I don't want to go up anymore, and I want good habits and to do fun activities with my kids, thanks for getting to know me. -

I think that is why my husband considers it cosmetic, he doesn't see me as obese to need a weight loss surgery, but I do and my back does and my knees do and my whole body just hurts all the time, I'm only 34, had both my kids already, but I want to have a life full of energy, and I can't see that happening if I can't get my weight under control. -

Kristy Giovanelli replied to Kristy Giovanelli's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know weight loss surgery is a huge deal, not to be taken lightly. I have thought about it for over a year, my husband considers it cosmetic surgery, he's not aware of how much my weight has been affecting me. I see doctors for my knees, they want to do surgery on both knees because they get a little swollen and they hurt, but I know my weight is majorly affecting it. I don't turn over in my sleep well, I wake up to turn over, I don't keep up with my kids. I am not incredibly obese or anything I understand, but I have yo-yo'd on diets and exercise my whole life, and it takes my emotions and kills it. I want something permenant that will aide me in making a life change, so I can be a great example for my kids. My husband is a very skinny tall man who eats a family size bag of chips in a day and a half! He's lucky has good genes, doesn't mind I'm overweight, but I feel its cutting into my life where I need to change it. I at first wanted the lap band, my friend hand one, but you can feel it under your skin. I've read the disadvantages, how its not really reversible because of scar tissue that forms, I know this is the right procedure for me.
