Well, it's been 2.5 weeks after my sleeve, and it's been interesting. Yeah I want to eat less, lose weight, and stay healthy, but what a bummer. I'm still "eating" liquids, and it's getting old. Today I tried to eat some sushi (raw fish) thinking it would be soft and easy on my stomach, and today I puked for the first time. It was pretty violent. Worse than I was expecting. My body needs meat. I'm starving, but surprisingly not that hungry. I just get meat cravings every now and then. Some buyer's remorse too. Went to a birthday party, and realized how much I miss pizza. I know I have a new stomach, and I don't feel like eating a whole pizza, but it'll be 5 more months until I can even try it.

Well it's only 6 days after my surgery and I'm getting ready to move to full liquid diet. It's been pretty rough on clears, especially the last couple days. I feel like I finally hit the wall on my new starvation diet, and I'm feeling tired and run down. Anybody have any issues with certain foods on the full liquid diet? Anything I should avoid, or try? The discharge info. they gave me about the diet was for Gastric Bypass, and I hear us sleevers can tolerate the foods better, and have less of the dumping syndrome. Anybody else notice this?

Thanks for the inspiration and tips. I think it will be great. My pre-op was today and I wished he would've had an opening for me today.

I'm up on the 17th also! How exciting. Hope everyone is ready, and has a smooth ride. -
I don't know how to do all that computer stuff either. Hope your surgery went well. I'm up on the 17th. I had my pre-op today, and I was wishing I could've just had it today. Everything is all lined up. Just waiting to get it over with.

Yeah, I hope I can get "addicted" to working out instead. I wonder if it's just a transitional kinda thing. Does it make you feel sick? Or is it just apathy to eating? I really don't know what to expect. I hope I feel like that, because I am used to having huge meals. My surgery is Thursday morning, and I have been enjoying my fav foods way too much, like I'll never touch em again. How is your energy level without food? I feel like if don't get to eat, I'm just gonna be tired all the time.

Hello all. I'm 33 and have my sleeve scheduled for Jan. 17th. I'm really excited about it. At first I was embarassed about talking about it, but I've just started telling people at work about it. I really hope it will have a positive impact on my kids about eating healthy, and the "right" amounts. I come from a family of heavyweights.

I hope to get where you are. I've been told by my office that after the surgery, food should be just fuel, like for your car. That's what I am really interested in, because obviously I over-indulge in food. What I'm worried about is what we replace food with. The psych doc says that the surgery will take our love of food away, and we might replace it with another addiction, like alchohol, drugs, shopping, gambling, etc.

Ok, might have to turn in my man card for asking this....

I'm in Fresno/Clovis Area in the central valley of California. Do they have clear supplements at shake stores/GNC? -

I was rolling at a gym that closed down a couple years ago, but haven't found a good replacement. An L.A. Boxing gym in town was offering a few JJ classes, but it wasn't the same. Once I recover from surgery I will look into another place. O.T.R. Sleever, how are you getting so much protein on clear liquids? Please teach me. -

First, I was surprised at how many women responded to this post in "The Man Room". I'm new to this, but thought there would be more men in here. I am scheduled for sleeve on 1/17/13 and this has been my only worry. Keeping my strength on a starvation diet. Anybody been sleeved and have any issues with this. I have no problem with working out, but can the diet keep up? And I think Jiu Jitsu is great for cardio and muscle. I've never had such a great workout with any other martial art.
