7 weeks post op & 100 lbs down

Wowwww!!! That is so awesome! Boy I better get my rear end in gear with the protein drinks. I'm only 15 day post op and down 20 since starting the journey. What kind of workout are you doing and when did you start it after surgery?

    Cant sleep well

Aww sweetie its gonna take a little while. I was sleeved 1/28 and I still am uncomfortable. The sore arms and chest will be gone in a few more days but my back is still not feeling good. I just prop myself with pillows to get comfy. Try some Tylenol and a hot herbal tea to relax before bed. Good luck my dear.

    3 months since surgery

Wow great! Glad your doing so well! I hope that's how it goes for me. I am 15 days post op and down 16 since surgery. I just started the mushy foods. Today I had oatmeal for the first time and was able to get in 1/2 cup and that scared me. too much huh? Maybe I should stear clear from that. I had a soft boiled egg this morning and was perfect for me. I am having a hard time drinking the protein shakes...yukkkk! What do you suggest?

    gained weight

You will probably lose them in the next day or 2 again plus more! Thats what I have seen.
  8. O wow you have a bit to go. Well I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for it to go fast and easy for you. It is so hard but if we stop to think about it...It's alot harder dealing with our weight issues every day, huh? Keep up your hard work. : )
  9. Awww newme31, I promise you will feel better. I was sleeved on the 28th had a headache for 4 frekin days, I thought I was gonna go nuts. Well turns out if you are a coffee drinker you need a couple sips. It helps ALOT. The pre op diet was tense but just think if you surgery is Friday...by next Friday you will feel awesome, well close to awesome. It is so worth it. Good luck and keep up the good work.

    Why no drinking when 'eating'?

Yeah the reason is they want is to have the full feeling longer and absorb the nutrients before gets washed away with liquid. Believe me it works better. After I eat I can't get any liquid in without feeling uncomfortable.

    surgery jan 28

I was also sleeved on the 28th. I am down 15 lbs. I had absolutely no appetite at all. I t was really hard getting in the protein. I barely did. I have just been sipping water and crushed ice, jello and a couple little tiny cups of the protein drink...BLAH! But we have to do it. I just went to my 1 week appt with my suregeon ( Dr. Zane) he is awesome! He now changed my menu a bit to mushy foods like mashed potatoes, oatmeal, cream of wheat, you know baby food consistency. Thank goodness. You will be surprised the amount that you can tolerate. Not much at all. But that's ok. Just tasting something different was fabulous! Keep it up everything you are experiencing is normal. Starting my walking on the treadmill this weekend. Been walking only about 15 mins a day. I need more. Well good luck to all of us!

    Back in the hospital ;-(

I had my surgery on the 28th also. I'm sore but I keep chewing on crushed ice. It's easier to get in than just plain liquid. I was able to get in 2 ozs of shake today but that was it. I'm glad your back feeling better in the hospital. I will keep you in my prayers for a quick recovery. Good luck to you.

    Pain after revision

I had my revision done Monday the 28th. The band procedure was lil to no pain. The revision was a lot more painful, but not due to the incisions but because of the gas they fill us up with. I certainly did use the PCA and was also getting the taradol. Right now I'm on the Vicodin every 4 hours. But it's getting better.

    pre-op question

Thats because we have been told we can't have anything like that...It's a brain thing.

    Recovery?

My surgery is Monday and I was told that I should not plan to lift or do much house work for a couple weeks. You should have some one with you at least for the first week. I plan to go back to work in a week...I hope...Good luck to you.
  16. OMG...now it's for real. I just got a call from the Kaiser to varify my arrival and surgery time. My surgery will be at 11am. So excited to start this journey out with the band and in with the sleeve.

O my gosh! I am so happy your doing well. My revision is Monday and I am really getting excited. I plan on being out of work only one week, since I have a desk job. Gonna take this weekend and revamp my pantry.
  20. Does anyone know if we can drink Power Aide Zero or Vitamin Water sugar free?
  21. Bunnydee

    Power Aid Zero

Great! thanks for your input. I think it may be easier to drink that here and there, instead of just plain water, for me anyways.
