So now anyone who loses weight, we'll speculate to have had WLS?? And on this forum of all, you're going to judge 40 pound weight loss as Sad?? a bunch of hypocritical backstabbers some of you are... Rosie, Gov Christie or just any Plain Jane with similar stars can be lurking here and instead of suggestions, support and empathy, we got a buncha former fatties on their high horses. Such a shame ....

Cosmetic Surgery Consult Today - Now Confused!
vogue replied to ev1988's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm 5.7 1/2. 145 pounds. Was 165 when I had initial consult and he didn't feel I needed to lose anymore weight to have surgery. I'm " only " having a panni done and didn't plan to lose 20 more pounds before surgery but am glad I did. I have surgery in a lil over 2 weeks I literally will just have skin removed and hopefully make my ultimate 140 pound goal before Spring is officially here -
Scar update... 4.5 months post op
vogue replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
The scar healing is great!! And Jane looks amazing. I am a lil concerned for my own scar as my Dr said my panties would cover the incision which clearly isn't the case here Not that I'd opt out of the surgery for that reason. -
LosibgPlastics First Appointment
vogue replied to Gina1010's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm down 120 pounds. Have not appealed thighplasty yet. But my panni surgery is scheduled for St Patricks Day -
My Dr emailed saying bring my compression garment ( and lab work, etc) to my next visit in 2 weeks. He didn't specify what kind, brand or anything. I'm going to call Monday but am looking for advice from those who've had LBL, TT, panniculectomy already. I'm having a panniculectomy only but are all compression garments created equally? How many should I purchase if I plan to wear it 27/7 for probably 12 weeks and maybe more

Excuse my rambling, my real life friend list is kinda short and I just needed a safe place to let some things out Unlike many when I'm emotional I have a hard time working up an appetite. I can't even force myself to eat which is why I still rely heavily on liquid calories/protein drinks. Having some financial issues which is putting stress on my marriage. Nothing we won't work through. Fortunately I am gainfully employed and have been able to work lots of OT. I see a light at the end of the tunnel. I am physically healthy and mentally in tact Going to try to eat a nice juicy steak & some shrimp.... Well about as much as my pouch will let me, which isn't a lot... Then go to gym and work off some of this stress with some barbells then come home and take a long hot bath followed by a glass of wine... Hopefully will sleep well because I have an early group run session tomorrow The bills will still come in regularly. The kids will still drive me crazy. The world will not fall off its axis if I go loco so I may as well live to the best of my ability for today. I'll worry about tomorrow when it gets here knowing I have a game plan and more than a mustard seed of faith I'm up about 3 pounds which is well within my comfort zone. I'm in maintenance and not going to try to eat at deficit to combat it. Wish those pounds would keep me warmer though, my heating bills would appreciate some relief

I'm well over 18 months out Today my husband made lasagna. One of my favorite meals. I cut a small piece for lunch , about a 3x3 square. Took 3 bites and got that warning feeling to not take another bite I love my restriction. Because I surely would overdo it on a day like today I hate my restriction because that lasagna tasted so good!! Oh well the rest got packed up for lunch at work tomorrow 18 months out with PLENTY of restriction. Love it!!

The denser the food, the less volume I can handle. For example , the lasagna is loaded with beef & cheese. A few bites and I was done yet when it comes to salad greens and cole slaw, both of which I eat daily... I can eat a LOT more at a sitting Not a bad problem to have.

I'm not a long time vet but as mentioned above, things got a lot easier for me when I got rid of the goal mentality and concentrated on lifetime ideals. I never had the "never " in my plan because there was nothing I wanted to give up forever. Instead I devised strategies that included moderation and deciding that for every action there needed to be an equal reaction to keep things balanced.

LosibgPlastics First Appointment
vogue replied to Gina1010's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Good luck. Getting approved for panni was easy for me. I'm appealing decision for thighplasty but if not approved I'm not crushed. -
Ditto on all accounts

He is a quack. The only reason I watch occasionally is because a good friend of mine is featured on their as a workout instructor (Stepp Stewart)

I'm not good at the sitting still thing. I'm gonna be such a bad patient. I'm scheduled for panniculectomy March 17. When I come to this forum next month whining , remind me of what I'm about to tell you... SLOW DOWN !! Lmao Let your body heal!!

This is a reminder to pick an amount to eat and stop at that no matter if you think you aren't full. If that means eating a lot slower and following your meal with Water Sorry about the painful lesson

Finally heard from my Dr. They recommended this site (designveronique) as well as www.contemporarydesigninc.com Thanks everyone.

Blah. I love body pump. Never had injury though I have DOMS occasionally. Increase weights weekly to challenge yourself. You will see a difference in inches more than pounds.

Happy... but I miss rice. I shouldn't, right?
vogue replied to Strangefruit's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
last night was my final straw.... rice was one of my FAVORITE pre-op things, as I love Chinese food... Ive tried rice many times post-op all UNSUCCESSFUL except once.... Last night during superbowl, I missed much of the game because I was in the bathroom, upchucking rice I had tried to eat earlier... ughhh.. I guess rice and I are over...dont..finite! I think I will go mourn now -
Maintainers, what is your carb level/intake like?
vogue replied to Jenny12's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I lift weights, heavy weights... so I do higher carbs than many... no way I could meet my physical goals without the carbs.... Im scheduled for panniculectomy in 6 weeks but when I go back to training post-op, Im also going to up carbs to over 200 g per day as I try to bulk a bit -
PROBIOTICS!! take em daily to help your digestive health...better than becoming laxative dependent
-
Some of you need to get off your high horses. A little lie vs a big lie ?? Lie by omission vs commission? Degree of lying ?? Partial lie ?? How about drink a big ol glass of Metamucil mixed with MYOB because ya are full of crap. A lie is a lie. You are a liar & hypocrite when you say I can accept a small ( or white or partial et al) and really need to spend more time on your own journey instead of speculations and judgement on those who don't feel the need to tell people one iota about their WLS. What's worse is that you as a WLS patient should understand that more than anyone else Ughhh

Circumferential Body Lift Done 12/6
vogue replied to Scout1234's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm 5 weeks post- hysterectomy and had vaginal swelling. It was completely gone by week 3.5. Because of VSG, I'm left with extra skin there too that I didn't realize until recently how bad it looks My panniculectomy is scheduled for March and now I'm worried about how bad the extra skin will look after more pubic swelling comes & goes. -
I use mapmyrun. Mostly because of the other "mapmy " apps that I use as well.

. Not true for me I made goal in 10 months. I always ate high carbs and fat. My focus was on doing what was/ is sustainable for me so there was no such thing has no-no foods unless it was simply because I didn't like the taste. I rely heavily on Protein drinks in the mornings. I take my vits with juice because I get nauseated if I take them with Water. I do drink about a gallon of water every day. I also have a meal with seafood and leafy veggies everyday. My main Snacks (because I'm a creature of habit) are peanuts and cole slaw. I do exercise 6 days a week

Yes weight watchers is considered a supervised diet plan and thus can be used to satisfy Aetna's requirement. I did 3 months supervised diet plan plus 3 nutritionist visits .... No personal trainer. still took nearly 6 months because was hard getting all the appointments set up

Thanks for the ideas. I need to update calories and fat but don't really want full meals. I'm gonna try a few of these
