I use stevia. And there is a crystal lite version made with stevia called crystal lite pure.

Selfie in my size 4 skinny jeans... Even with compression garment I needed a belt on. I'm 2 weeks postop today. Still have swelling in the middle of my abdomen. It's weird looking to me. Like my top & bottom don't match. The pannus is flat. The top is not completely flat but then this spare tire like thing in the middle. It has gone down a lot in 2 weeks but it still is ugly IMO my incisions looks great in some spots. Pretty horrific in others. 2 in particular look like the Dr may need to address them with a suture or 2 at a later date. The holes where the drains were are now completely closed. I'm a take a bath more than take a shower person so that's good news for me. I still ache in 2 spots. Right at my hip bones. Not sure what that's about since the incisions aren't right there. Maybe that's where they did the tugging and pulling. Gonna take undie pics shortly

Three Weeks Without Weight Loss
vogue replied to StJimmy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
2000 calories is probably too much. Cut back 200 or even 400 calories for 3 weeks and see what happens -
I'm not loc'd but my friend is. She didn't notice any hair loss. I'm natural, wear a fro. I didn't have loss but my hair growth stunted for a few months.

Twenty yrs ago I was 135 pounds and a size 8. Now I'm 145 and size 4. However my weight is distributed differently now...I think muscle mass is pretty much the same due to current workouts. But yeah besides vanity sizing everything is made with lycra or some kinda stretch material... Even jeans have it

It may not be her fault. Firstly these things are either submitted via fax or email or via some electronic program. Maybe all of the pages didn't go thru. I know I've faxed things to my insurance company several times and they claimed they never received it. I re- fax and I know all pages went and they claim they still haven't received it. Have some patience and send whatever they ask via a system that gives a receipt confirmation

Beware of Mexico Bariatric Center (MBC)
vogue replied to dsteimen's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
In the US, it doesn't seem like a lot of revision from band to sleeve are done during same surgery. Why would it be any different in Mexico?? Seems to me the Dr did a lot of mis communicating however well intentioned it could've been. -
So I purchased new jeans today.. DH used to make jokes about my mom jeans. Recently he saw my "before" jeans and commented how he can hardly remember me wearing them. So I was excited for him to see my new skinny jeans. I turned around and asked did he like the way they fit. He said he felt he was being set up. I used to want to know did I look fat now all I want to know is does my butt look flat

7 months and told to stop losing and start maintenance.....
vogue replied to sophiepants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 67.5 inches. I am 145 pounds. That's where my body stays with no effort. I can afford to gain 10 pounds with no worries. My Dr's goal was 65% EWL which means I would've been still overweight I will say that there is no way i would have surgery to remain overweight. 28 BMI is still overweight. -
Interesting. I suffered with lymphodema before VSG. it's been well under control since. I guess I now have something to keep watch for

Size 4 skinny jeans pulled up and button even with compression garment on. I hope that doesn't mean I will need a size 2 because I think I need to plump up a bit as it is A lil incision pain today. In one spot. Not sure what that's about

I don't see anyone attacking... I certainly was not.... I clearly stated " confused " by her post -
Beware of Mexico Bariatric Center (MBC)
vogue replied to dsteimen's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Confused: You found out the Mexican Dr and / or hospital didn't perform the surgery you paid them to do, thus making you lack trust for surgeries performed in Mexico but then you went ahead and had yet another surgery in. Mexico ? -
Gut bacteria changes huh?? I can't help but think 80% of stomach being gone is a huge player in this game but I also think it's boosted by the use of probiotics in some manner.

My dr emailed me the pathology report from my pannus. I didn't know he'd run that. It weighed about 950 grams= slightly over 2 pounds

Made the mistake of running out the house w/o compression garment (emergency phone call came as I was in bathroom) I darted out the house. 20 minutes later i I have a new respect for the compression garment. I'm home in bed hoping not to be separated from it again for a long time Still healing, still itching.

8 Days after Fleur De Lis TT and doing fine
vogue replied to Bridget312001's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Congrats!! I refuse to take morphine because of the hallucinations. But I doubt if the Oxy would be enough of a relief after the surgery you've had. Glad you're feeling better. Do you still have drains?? I was so glad to get mine out yesterday. How's the swelling? Have you looked at your incisions? I think the compression garment wu become more tolerable once you start healing more. My stitches were itching bad yesterday and I wanted to burn the garment. Today it isn't bad. Hope things continue to get better for you -
Definitely not. 64 lost is better than 0 lost and even more better than 1 gained. If you want to lose more and/ or faster then you need to reevaluate your diet, exercise and other habits. Write it all down, don't estimate. Join myfitnesspal.

It's amazing how people change when you take charge of your own health and lose a bunch of weight. Some of it is genuine concern. Some jealousy. Some folks are just busy bodies and need to have something to say and that's usually to keep the focus off themselves. I'm tired of going to funerals for my people when they could've prevented death by eating better or losing weight. Diabetes & HBP runs rampant in the AA community. WLS will save more of our lives than gun control. A sad but realistic fact. So go on and cheat death. Lose that weight. Get active. Eat better. Get off those meds. Lose that insulin. I'm praying for you all My highest weight was 282. I had surgery August 2012 squeezing into size 20/22 I weighed 142 pounds this morning. I wear a size 4. I'm running, bike riding, swimming, lifting weights and just living life I gained a few wrinkles in my face because I lost fat there. I'd rather have a few wrinkles than be unhealthy.

Drains out. Dr took a pic in the office but I was too frustrated about the things to get him to take one with my phone. Dr was pleased with my progress. I'll get hubby to take pics tomorrow. The Dr shared this with me.... Said it weighed a lil over 2 pounds

I've had complications (structure) and a new hernia among other things but still would do it again. I'm sleeved as if Aug 2012

Period during surgery, please help!
vogue replied to greensleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on my period during surgery. I was required to take everything off. No pads or tampons during surgery. You lay on that blue puppy training pad thingy. You wake up with hospital panties and a pad on. They are medical professionals. They've dealt with menstruation a lot. it's a big deal to you, a no brainier to them -
A few questions from a pre-op if you don't mind
vogue replied to Wires's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I drink 30 minutes before. I drink right until I take my first bite. But never during and sometimes 30 minutes after wasn't enough time. The first time your stomach reacts like a plunger and you upchuck, you won't be tempted again Isopure makes a Protein drink that's more like Kool aid, not a shake. Comes in like 8 flavors. Admittedly it has an aftertaste unless ya doctor it up. I mix lemon in mine and pour over crushed ice and imagine it's a slurpee I didn't do the purée stage. I stayed on liquid stage an extra week or. 2. No one says that in exactly one week you must do this or that. Do what ya need to get by. At that stage, getting fluids and protein is most important Everything else is negotiable. Forget about the popcorn for a LONGGGG while. Sick on a breath mint or something. Eat before you go and you'll be too full to snack I don't drink coffee. Can't help ya there -
For the athlete, the numbers will be different. You will need more sodium than most due to what's depleted via body sweat.
