weight loss stalled
Newme4ever replied to hansfull's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with you . I'll be two weeks on Thursday . I have stalled for the last 4 days . So frustrating. I just got off with my NUT to see if I hold cut down on the protein shakes. She said absolutely not. It's my body catching up . Medically I get it BUT I'm still frustrated. -
Is it too soon?
Newme4ever replied to heartonmysleevey's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I say go and have a great time !! You don't see your friend that frequently . Just take it easy . I'm 11 days post op today and I went back to work . I feel great but just tired . Good luck with your surgery . -
A few questions? ( just had surgery on 1/28)
Newme4ever replied to kcinpa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on jan 24, my dr checked for leaks right after my surgery . Only way I knew I was urinating blue green. I was also discharged the next day as well. I definitely get the full feeling and if I drink too fast ( have to get used to sipping) it hurts going down. -
This is my 3rd time trying for the vsg
Newme4ever replied to cassiedoodle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It took me 3 months with my insurance. I had to have a minimum of 3 visits with the Nutritionist. Good luck ! -
I did the band first in 2007 , and now I was just sleeved on jan24. I did lose the weight at first with the band then I did gain most of it back . I didnt like if I took one wrong bite it would ruin my whole meal . I had a lot of vomiting cause my food would get stuck. When I was starving I would eat too fast. I was still able to eat as much as I wanted because I never had the full feeling. You become wise to what you can eat healthy or not . As of right now, I would recommend the sleeve over the band . I am only one week post op and really happy. Im still on clear liquids and truthfully Im not physically hungry just head hungry. And I like knowing that this is forever . Maybe someone feels different . Good luck

I stayed there up until 9 yrs .I did mother baby for a few yrs then I found my "thing" I work for an IV infusion company and I love it!! ( I don't want to jinks myself) I was sleeved on Jan 24 and I feel pretty good . The nausea was unbearable in the beginning but it has subsided . It's so nice to have this support group . I'm nervous...
Newme4ever replied to onelessfatgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you will be so happy with your decision. I had the band removed and sleeved just 5 days ago and I love it. I think if you explain to your parents in detail about the surgery they will be supportive. It's life changing and it's all for the good . It sounds like you are close with your parents . Just give them time to digest the info . Good luck We all need support, I'm so happy I found this forum !! -
Hi , I just had my surgery done on Thursday as well . I still feel terrible too. The gas pain is the killer for me and severe nausea. My MD said its normal. My incisions are sore but nothing that I can't handle. Yesterday was a bad day, I was regretting what I did . Today is a better day but my scale said I'm 2pounds up .. Really ?!? I guess we have to take this journey one day at a time feel better soon !

Excited, Nervous, Thinking too Much!
Newme4ever replied to petra1124's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Petra 1124, you took the words right out of my mouth. I felt the same way this past week. I'm scheduled for the 24 th and all fear and concerns have played over and over through my mind a million times over . I decided that I was not going to tell anyone except for my husband and my children. I don't want to hear anyone's negativity . This is not the easy way out like I've heard when I expressed to a friend that I was interested in doing this. And guess what even if it is so be it, this is for our health and well being,I want to enjoy my children and do what I love to do with them, just like you, I am nervous that we can't eat the things that we used to but I keep telling myself that is what got me here in the first place. I'm sure in time we can eat what we want in super small portions ( works for me) . Once we start losing weight everything will fall into place . We will do great ! Good luck and don't let anyone discourage you. We are finally doing something for ourselves. ( at least for me everyone else came first and I put myself on the back burner , not any more) ttys -
I wish I was two days away .. Good luck and keep us posted on your success !!! Yay for you !

I'm new to this site . I'm getting sleeved on the 24 th. My Dr told me only to prep for24 hrs prior to my surgery. How long are you prepping for ? I'm going from a lap band to the sleeve , I read that the weight loss is slower is that true ? I hope someone can help .. Thanks
