    I'm never Hungry!

My doctor said you run the risk of stretching your stomach out if you try to force the portion size. I got myself into this message by eating 'regular' portions instead of the smaller quantities our bodies really need. It is hard, though, if you're eating with other people. I feel like I'm either missing out on what they're eating, or they push me to have more.

    All of my December sleevers...

12/5, down 20 and counting. Just broke my first stall, which lasted 3 weeks. I add the Soda Stream water flavoring. Just a few drops, sugar free. It really helps get it down.

Holy cow! That's amazing! Keep up the good work. But make sure you're getting your protein so you don't lose muscle mass. More muscle means more weight loss. :-)
  4. Hooray! Congratulations! I was really thirsty, too. Make sure you get your sponge to wet your mouth,

    Wavering...sleeve or plication?

Not sure, since everytime I asked why he was against it he just said I should know. But he was so good about criticizing what I ate, or how I exercised, not to mention sexual rejection, I'm pretty sure he just thought I should get my fat butt to the gym 8 hrs a day. We're pretty much separated now, but living under the same roof. It's a difficult situation. But I'm trying to make the best of it by focusing on my health and weight loss, and doing activities that I actually enjoy. Thanks for your support.

    Searching for encouragement

Actually, I worked in health care for 12 years. And no, you expressed an opinion, not a factual statement, which I responded to with an opinion. Maybe you should learn the difference instead of getting snippy. We're all just here to support each other, afterall.
  7. You might want to talk to your dietician again. I was allowed things like protein shakes, cream soups, pudding... on day 3. As tolerable, of course. My clear liquids were only day 2. Of course, I'm seeing from this forum that every Surgeon/Dietician has a different diet plan for their patients.

    Wavering...sleeve or plication?

I'm about 5 wks out and haven't had any of the problems you described, except for the stress of my husband possibly leaving me cause I had the surgery. You just have to decide if the other health benefits outweigh the possible side effects that may or may not even affect you. I have fatty liver disease and had pain in my liver every day for the past year, my blood sugars and cholesterol levels are always high, arthritis in my knees, plantar fasciitis, shortness of breath with exertion... I'm tired of the pain and the depression, and I'm tired of people looking at me like a fat cow for eating, even when I eat less than everyone else! I decided it was worth the risk. Good luck with your decision. I know from experience its not an easy one.

When can we eat fruit and salads

I'm 36 days post-op and I had salad for dinner last night, and lunch today. Fruits and veggies were too big a part of my life before to not at least try. My dietician hasn't really restricted me because she knows I'll stop if it doesn't feel good. But, just so you know, my results are pretty atypical. I seem to be able to eat a lot of foods most people can't at this stage, just in very small quantities. So far, the only foods I have trouble with are pork, eggs, and apples. I'm going to try an orange tonight. Wish me luck!

    HUNGER

There's not much I have trouble eating. I'm pretty lucky. All in all this surgery has been a lot easier than I expected.

Thoughts on apples..... Natural sugar is 28 grams....

I have trouble eating apples and applesauce. They're too acidic and don't feel good. I'm 4 weeks post op. Hopefully it'll get better. I miss fruit. Gonna try an orange tomorrow.

    HUNGER

I have trouble getting enough protein. I can hardly stand the shakes anymore, and before the surgery I was fine not having meat in my meal. That hasn't changed. And now my stomach doesn't like eggs or pork. But I know I need to work harder at it. Maybe add more beans or something. It's a learning process.

    HUNGER

I haven't been doing a great job of tracking, but I've been on many counting calorie diets so I think that's about right. My doctor and dietician said 1000 calories is great. They I could eat carbs, too. But I have stalled, though, so I'm cutting out the carbs. For dinner I had a green salad with 2 oz chicken.

    HUNGER

I'm 1 mo post op. For the past few days I've had intense hunger pain all day. Even after I've eaten, and feel full, I still have hunger pain. Sometimes its relieved a little if I burp, but comes back. I'm eating about 1000 cal a day. I'll admit I sometimes forget to take my acid reducer. I made sure to last night and today and guess what, no more hunger pain.
