    Beware of low B12

Give myself a shot of B12 the first of every month.....nothing too bad. Always follow up with providers for levels.

    Scale obsessed!

Patience...patience. I'm 18 days post op.....have lost a bit though. We're all different. Stay off that scale! This is a permanent lifestyle change.....think of the weight loss (that will come I promise) as a nice side effect.....eat and drink small and slow. Put the scale in the closet for a while. I too have the same problem with eating/drinking to fast still....my new stomach lets me know quickly and painfully. There is a learning curve. My problem is i view eating as a chore now since i'm not hungry....and force it down too quick. To boot, I'm thirsty...which is a bad sign because once you feel thirsty you're already dehydrated a bit....so I want to drink too quick. Double edge sword. We'll both figure it out and adjust, early in the game now....so hang in there! Best of luck.

    3 days post-op

Yes....recovery was good for me too. Through this whole process and the rest of your life....small and slow. It's a must. My problem is eating to fast....it's still seems like i'm forcing myself to eat and drink. But, your new stomach will let you know quick when you mess up. Walking always helps peristalsis (movement of stomach contents down and through the intestines).....now even close to post op and later down the road. Best of luck.
  4. Had the same conundrum....I use regular muscle milk for 34g protein and 500ml of fluid...it does add 360 calories though. Lite has much less in categories; you get 20g protein at 160 calories (i think). Cost wise the regular is the way to go for protein....but if you need to closely watch your calories and having problems getting your fluid in, the lite would be better IMHO. My physician wants me to at least get in 1200 cal a day....but I'm a 6'3" big boned, much muscle mass guy. Smaller framed people would need less....always work with your nutritionist and surgeon to determine your appropriate needs. We're all built different in this world, underneath the fat .

    Lose weight in feet?

Lol....yes, I've had this happen after many mass yo-yo weight losses in the past. The clothes i could handle, but there were always shoes that I wish I could have still worn after the weight loss.

    Pain, Pain, go away!

Be safe and contact your surgeon for their opinion. Especially since you are a recent post op. The back pain could be any number of things, but best to rule out the worst first.

Making a List for my Sleeve day

don't buy much....lol. Seriously, i found mixing the sugar free pudding did help with the shakes. Sugar free Jello and popsicles worked well too during the first few post-op days. It seems many patients have different directions regarding time frame of food introduction, so I don't want to lead you astray regarding clears, to full liquid, to soft/pureed. So stick to the outline from your nutritionist. However,I found scrambled eggs and fish to go down the easiest once I was onto soft foods. Best of luck.
