I was worried too, but I held onto hope and finally, BAM!!!! All I want you to take away from this is to be patient and stay the course, your body WILL catch up.

Want to hear something insane?
IAMLU replied to IAMLU's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Absolutely. I know I worked harder to increase my Water intake to about 80 ounces a day, which took diligence because I am forgetful. But I did it. Kept on top of it religiously. I get approximately 70-75 grams of Protein a day. Only about 20 of that is animal protein, the remainder of my protein comes from quinoa, plain greek yougurt mixed with Protein powder, and chai seeds added to my water (brilliant idea by the way), and one of my favorite treats, a homemade avacado hummus it provides great protien from the chickpeas and avacado has wonderful beneficial fats, Vitamins, Fiber, and flavor! Its just chickpeas, lime, avacado, and fresh garlic cloves. It goes great on anything, 2 tbsp a serving. Talking about it is making me hungry lol. Anyhow, I had been working up my resistence train gradually from week 3 post op through week 5 post op. The 6th week I was up to 2 hours of resistance training a day broken up into 1 hour twice a day blocks. The 6th week I also began a training schedule to build up my running that I found online. For the first week you run/jog for 60 seconds, then walk for 90 seconds. You repeat this 8 times in a row, 3-5 times a week. When I say Ive been dedicated, I mean it. That's why the stall was really getting to me, but I kept on anyway because everyone on here says stalls happen and pass, so I held on on the my thin shreds of patience. -

Ive been thinking about it since Saturday morning when I was about 8 pounds down in one day. Then I figured it would go up again or something, at least a pound or two, but nope, another 10 pound by Sunday morning was off and 2 more by the afternoon. Ive spent all day trying to wrap my head around it. My current weight is 229. 7 weeks post op. -

The "whoosh" makes total sense, my urine output went up like CRAZY this weekend! I weigh myself when I wake up, in the afternoon, and before bed. Its a very good scale, crudly accurate lol -

I have some suspicions about what may or may not have broken the stall, but no way of being sure, and I don't want to misguid people either. What works for one person may not work for others. -

I don't know if I'll ever see a better day than this lol, but since I enjoy almost all my days, I'm not even worried about it! I was really bummed during the stall. -
one week out, is this good or bad?
IAMLU replied to VSG_me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt I've been extremely lucky too! I'm 11 days post op and 22 pounds down, no problems with movement, or the liquid/protein diet. Seeing the Surgeon on Wednesday to be cleared for pureed/soft foods. -
It went perfectly and I couldn't have had a better experience. I think the anticipation made me fret about details and being prepared, but it was all much smoother than I thought it would be. So much fuss and it wasn't necessary.

Post Op Vitamin Level Test

Wanna hear something that will sound crazy? If you want to improve your cholesterol, avoid sugar as much as possible. Real and artificial. Natural sources like fruits, raw honey, molasses, and 100% real maple syrup are good in moderation, and even can imoroc your health. But in moderation. Sounds crazy I know but do it for 3 months and check your cholesterol levels again. Your blood pressure will also improve if that's an issue. -
Kashi Protein Calculator - How much protein is right for me?

Its that kind of pandering that has gotten our society into this whole poor health epidemic in the first place. Which the "healthcare" and pharmaceutical companies enjoy financially in spades. -

I haven't been struggling a whole lot with cravings just yet, Im newly post op, sleeved 01/24/13, but my StepMom said something that I think I will help carry me through this journey. I wanted to share it with the hope that it speaks to some of you the way it brought me "peace of mind." : food isn't going anywhere. It will always be right in front of you.: She's right. And down the road when I have achieved my goal, I can enjoy any of it, in a new found moderation. But for now, kiss my ass junk food! Comfort food! Empty calories! You do nothing for me. I've got more important needs than to indulge in taste. Time to get right. ♥

I had surgery on Thursday. Everything went beautifully as far as the Surgery is concerned. My only issue is I woke up a few hours ago to use the restroom and wasn't thinking and bent over at the waist to pick something up and felt a pop on one of my external incisions. The nurse checked it out and its still closed, just tender now, but it did scare me a lot. Im laying with an ice pack now, glad I'm in the hospital. One additional concern, Im not putting out enough urine. The doctor isn't worried, he says it will pick up very soon but I just worry. Hows everyone else doing? And have you had similar concerns or issues?
