  1. I chose Dr. Fernando Garcia at Mi Doctor Hospital in Tijuana. One factor for me chosing him was my neice used him 4 months prior and she had a great outcome. I read many blogs on the facility and his staff and they were all very true! I had great care. The facility was very clean. Our driver Samuel was very nice and spoke great english! All of the doctors spoke english! There was a little bit of a language barrier with some of the nurses. But not enough to make me worry! It all worked out great!!

    mexico surgery?

I used Dr. Fernando Garcia at Mi Doctor in Tijuana on 1/19/13. The hospital was so clean and the nurses were very attentive and I always felt safe. I would definately reccommend Dr. Garcia and Mi Doctor Hospital! They were great!
  6. Yes! I am also 5 weeks post op! Certain foods that I loved before I can't stand the smell of. I love eggs and have tried them several times and just can't eat them! Soup! Oh my geez the smell of soup gags me!

    2 weeks post op

I felt the same way! I still struggle with it some! Like you said it's not really regret! The overwhelming emotioonal roller coster is exhausting. I had a few "big" melt downs! My dr. gave me xanax to help with them. It does. I am 4.5 weeks post op and I promise you it does get better every day!
  8. I could not do it without the surgery! My insurance did not pay. I used Dr. Fernando Garcia in Tijuana! Yes! Tijuana! My niece had gone there 4 months prior and had a great experience. I also had a great experience. I would highly recommend that facility and staff any day. It cost $4700. That was surgery & hotel. Travel expense was my responsibility! They took great care of me! I went through Ready 4 a change! www.ready4achange.com I am 4.5 weeks post op.... Honestly Yes I have had some regrets. It's a very difficult transition. But it does get better every day so I figure like most once I learn to live with the new me I will one day say I have not regretted it.

    I love my sleeve but...

I have just the opposite problem! I am 4.5 weeks post op and my sleeve tolerates very little. I have yet to get over 400 calories in one day. I've never reached my fluid intake limit! It is very frustrating. But I can surely see how being able to consume a lot is just as frustrating or more so. the point with having the surgery is to help you with the over eating. Hang in there! Hope it gets better soon!

    In Mexico ..OCC

Take it slow! When you feel tired you rest. Once I made it home I couldn't sleep enough! Which says my body truly needed every bit of it. I guess all the anxiety and the travel finally caught up to me!
  11. What a struggle it is for me to get my protein down. Has anyone tried the protein shots. If so what is the best tasting brand and flavor?

    About time

The best protein shake I have had is the Premier Protein. Chocolate. The vanilia is also good. They have 30 g of protein. I get them at Sam's!
  14. Great! Thanks for the info
  15. How many ounces are they? Do you mix them with water? I have heard I can get about a 3 oz shot of protein.

    6 days post surgery

While reading this post it felt as if I was the one who had wrote it! I didn't get the "easy" surgery! I had it all! the vomiting, nausea, horrible gas pains! I am 4 weeks out and still have my days that I question whether I did the right thing but as you say what's done is done and no turning back now! I do have good days but I am no where near 'I would do it all over again" phase! Hang in there!
  17. I am 4 weeks out and have the same issues. I get down so few calories it worries me. I wonder everyday if it will get better. I am told that 4 weeks is when things really turn around. Well so far no miraculous changes. I'm still hopeful

Great for you I was in so much pain for 2 days straight after surgery! I was kicking myself asking what the heck have I done. There were some others that had it the same day as me (1/19/13) that had a very uneventful time time. Dizzy is very normal! You just had a major surgery. I still get dizzy some!

    How to handle critics?

I only shared it with a few people. My mother didn't know until I was home! I didn't want to hear all the worry she would have. It is a personal decision and honestly no ones business!
  20. Pre op for me was so much easier than post op! This post op stuff is exhausting
  21. I have been struggling with liquid & food intake issues and the head hunger! It does seem to get a little easier each day! I am told by week 4 things are much better! Week 4 is this Saturday! I am expecting lots of changes that day LOL

    Marriage - I Don't Know If...

My husband was worried about any negative outcomes other than that he was very supportive. He has not once expressed that he worried about me leaving him when I get thin. This surgery is a very serious and permanate decision and your life will change completely! He will come around once he sees how much better you will feel.
  23. YES! Everyday and they continued after the surgery. My dr put me on Xanax to help me through them. I don't know how I could make it without them right now! I am 25 days post op!

    I hate to eat!

I completely understand. I could go all day everyday and not eat. It's just such a hasell and definately not fun. I also have trouble getting my fluids down. However I do know this is not healthly and I am working on getting more food and water down. Hang in there
