1 week til surgery! Anyone 200 starting weight?
LG1981 replied to hopingtolose2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was 204 lbs. day of surgery. I am 5'3 and was sleeved 2/12. Currently I am 157 lbs. I have found that people that start out weighing less (200-215 lbs) lose the weight slower than the heavier sleevers (250 lbs +). My suggestion is do not compare yourself to other sleevers. Our journeys are all unique, but rest assured the weight will come off! -
Have you tried milk of magnesia? It worked very well for me.

You look FAB! The weight gain could also be your period. Weight loss eventually slows down for all of us. Im losing 1-2 lbs. a week, and some weeks I don't even lose that. Just be patient! Good luck! -

Ever fear losing to much weight?
LG1981 replied to mrdr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am also concerned about losing too much. I am very curvy and would like to keep some of my curviness. I am currently 157 lbs. and haven't set a goal weight because I just want to stay at whatever I feel good in. I am going to worry about maintenance when I get to that point. -
11 months post-op - major stall
LG1981 replied to Sleeveofsteel's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Maybe your body is in starvation mode. Try upping your calorie intake if that is the case. I am sure you have made great progress, dont feel discouraged and think about how far you have come along! -
5 Months and 94 pounds down (caution, underwear pic)

You look soooo young!! Congratulations on your AWESOME job! -
I was sleeved 2/12. It does et better. I struggled with pain in my incisions for a long time. I couldn't sleep well with the pain, and I was walking around hunched over like an old lady. I was depressed and often cried, especially when I read on here that everyone was up and at em' by their second or third week. But let me tell you, it gets better and then some. I would go through all the pain again in a heartbeat. Just be patient!

I go with full fat because I eat so little that it is sometimes hard for me to get to my calorie target. I try to get to 1000 a day but usually get to 800-900. I track everything on my fitness pal.

MY HAIR IS FALLING OUT!
LG1981 replied to shelly13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I finally get my hair to my waist, it starts falling out. Arg. Im taking 10,000 mcg of Biotin, it is still falling out but. Biotin is supposed to help the regrowth, not stop the actual falling. There is nothing much to do about the falling out, because the strands that are supposed to fall out will do so regardless of anything you take. What really helps is not stressing out about it. Stress contributes A LOT to hair loss. I know I will not go bald, and I will not cut it off. I know it will stop eventually for all of us!! -
Great job! You look AWESOME!

Your neighbor need to mind his/her business! Congratulations on your progress. Keep up the awesome work! -
I don't like working out. I don't like to sweat (some activities I don't mind sweating , my hair gets messed up, and I just enjoy kicking back after work rather than heading to the gym. That being said, I started to weight train a month and a half ago 3x a week, and cardio 2x a week and the results have been AMAZING. -lost 19.8" -lost 9.4 body fat -13 lbs down Bite the bullet peeps!

You could try zumba or something like that...

I was sleeved 2/12 and down 47 lbs. going to the gym is the absolute best thing I have done. Weight-wise I haven't lost a lot, but since I started the gym a month and a half ago, Ive lost 13 lbs., 19 inches, and 10% body fat. I feel AWESOME and soon you will feel even more great!!

Do most people have drains?
LG1981 replied to lynndtt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me the drain was the worst part of recovery. I had it in for a week and was scared that I was going to pull it out in my sleep. I will add that I VERY squimish. -
Ive been on Levoxyl for aprox. 3 years. I have thyroid nodules.

FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved

Im at 800-900. I try hard to get to 1000 but barely make it. Like you, I eat whatever I want except pasta, only because I get hungry 10 min. later. I was sleeved on 2/12 and down 44 lbs. and started at 204 lbs. Im totally happy except protien intake is hard. -
I have thought about this but I would like to hear from someone who has done it.
