My friend who does the protein shakes had said that we could use the extracts found in the baking aisle is this not the case? This way I was thinking I could add the different flavors to the chocolate or the vanilla shakes

When you speak of protein shakes are you guys referencing the HMR diet? That is what my doctor has asked me to do

Hi i am to new to the thread and am awaiting the insurance approval. My doctor gave me a surgery date 3/14 though so now I'm wondering if the insurance had previously approved it. My BMI is 41 so based on that I should qualify however my surgeon is asking me to lose 20 to 30 pounds prior to surgery which will drop my BMI. It's been a long six-month process with my insurance with classes and phone calls and now every Monday we have therapy sessions so I'm just hoping to get the surgery done and move on with my life

I told my husband that when I lose my weight I would like to do belly dancing

My doctor has informed me that once my six-month program is done I will be doing the liquid shakes until my surgery so that is approximately 2 to 2 1/2 weeks

I would request a new surgeon but he is the head of the department so I figure I'm in the best hands even though his bedside manner stinks

I too am on a six-month program and I'm almost ending my six months and have gained 6 pounds and it's not due to the fact of me overeating it's due to me under eating since I'm watching the consumption of food my nurse said they should not be an issue as they are just looking for a lifestyle/food change

The insurance company has not approved that date yet but that is the date that the hospital has provided to me so fingers Class for that date considering my triplets birthday is on March 18 and a kind of throws a wrench in the system... We definitely should stay in touch so we can both support each other during this time

Finally Been cleared by my hematologist to have the surgery... Have my appointment with the surgeon tomorrow and can't tell you how excited I am to finally be moving forward with this journey! I was looking for any suggestions, questions or comments that maybe I should ask my surgeon...

I talked to my nurse practitioner yesterday and with my Tufts health plan after a six-month program My BMI still has to be 40 or a above therefore I am unable to lose the weight until the end of February. I think what's going to happen is I'm going to be on an HMR liquid diet for about 2 1/2 weeks prior to my surgery.

So basically my surgeon told me I was fat and have done nothing to lose the weight and really does not have a good bedside manner. I tried explaining to him that I've been on weight watchers and have lost some weight but the problem I'm having is I am not eating enough calories because there's not enough food so my body is storing which is bad and he basically laughed at me..... He informed me that it is required that I lose 20 pounds before my surgery... They did not have my surgery date yet but we are hoping for March the problem with that is my insurance does not allow my BMI to fall below 40 and by losing the 20 pounds my BMI will be below 40....

This was going to be a journey between me and my friend however she did not qualify for the surgery. So I keep her information to a minimal however I have informed my husband and my children who are very supportive. My mother, father and brother know however I am not telling anyone else as it's my decision and my choice. I'm sure they'll know somethings up once they see the weight loss but I'll just tell them it's with diet and exercise. My BFF checks on me after ALL appointments, therapy sessions and just keeps telling me I'm beautiful. I own my own business so I have informed my clients that I will be having an upcoming operation due to some stomach/intestinal issues that I've been having for years now.

I HATE the Tufts .... I can change program..... End my program the end of February
