  1. Well i am 3 days out from my surgery... The gas part is killing OMG it is wicked bad. I have not felt like drinking anything not to mention my protien drinks. Every time I drink something I can feel my stomach and my insides are grubbling and growling... I have been up walking and even been up most of today wrapping xmas gifts.. Does the gas part every go away?? At this point it feels like i will have this all the time.

December 16Th Sleeve Date, Who's With Me?

Wow that is a really short time table John. My insurance required at least 6 month before they would approve the surgery. So for me I started this process in Dec of last year. So that would of put me at June or July to have the surgery but I needed to make the money over the summer. So I was going to do it in Oct but my part time job came to me and needed help until Dec so I put it off until this monht (Dec).. The first half of my journy was 6 modules of nutrition i was required to attend and then show them I can eat right and loose a percentage of weight. Which I did ok on not the best and I think this is why also I am on this clear liquid diet roght now for the two weeks before my surgery. They did tell me also like Joan mentions its to shrink the liver and it is safer for the surgery. So for me this is goal number one for me to follow the clear liquid diet to the tee.(Turst me I am starving right now LOL) Goal two will be my after surgery healing and doing as they say and so on. I am excited but also really nervous about the surgery. But the more people post here about what they went through it seems to help the nerves on my end. With that being siad I would liek to thank over out there with the word sof encouragement and helpful posts they have posted.. Dan
  3. Mike, the psych part is not bad.. Well at least for me. They want to make sure your doing this for the right reasons and to make sure that you can handle the life changing surgery of how you eat and if you are of the right mind that you can handle it. I am on day two (well day three) of my clear liquid diet and I am straving!!!! LOL... The first day was the worst I wanted to eat something so bad but I didn't.. I nervous about the surgery but the posts here have kind of put my mind at easy alittle but and I want to thank everyone for there words of encouragment on the surgery part. I have 12 days to go before I get sleeved.. I am kind of excited also...
  4. I have read Truckdaddy about two hours is what I have been reading
  5. Yes Thank you MIss Mac... Any info on thise is a really big big help!!
  6. I am told 1) it will shrink my liver and 2) I did not really loose the required weight before surgery. But mostly I guess it shrinks your liver and is better for surgery. I can drink Protien drinks i am going with Designer Whey with 100 Calories and 18g of protien. So I can drink more in a day. I plan on drink 5 so that will get me to 500 calories and 90g of protien. Inbetween I plan on fat free jello which is 10 calories per box and probably going to pick up some fat free popsicles. I am really not look fawrd to it but I am going to do this.. It is my first of many goals in my life and it starts with this clear liquid diet I need to do!!! As I type this it is now early Thanksgiving morning and Thanksgiving is my last big meal I plan on having. hahaha I have sleep apnea and I want off my cpap machine. I can not sleep with out that thing. I have to bring it with me if i want to sleep other then home. If the power goes out in the middle of the night I can not sleep at all with out. I try to lay down and take a nap I feel like I can not breath.. I don't like the way I look I hate my neck and other parts of my body. I need to do this for myself but more importantly I need to do this for my 15 yr old daughter. I want to be around for her longer then I am going to be if I continue down this road i am on. The surgery part scares me to death, like I said I have never had surgery before for anything. I like the fact that there are others out here that have the same date as me.. Its like we can start this new life together and have each other to talk to about things and how each otehr is doing. Mel I will add her right now
  7. Surgery date scheduled for Dec 16th!!!!! Wicked nervous about the surgery!!!

  8. Thank you Mel... I just went to that thread and left a post there. I also tried to the Facebook Page but it only brings me to a blank screen on my smartphone. I am having my surgery here At Central Maine Bariatric Center.. A Dr Loggins and Dr Bang here in Lewiston Maine. I start my clear liquid diet next week (Mon the 2nd) and can only have 400-600 calories each day and those will come from the protien drinks I am supposed to be drinking. I can have fat free Jello and fat free ice pops and thats it for the whole two weeks before my surgery.. Is it just me"--- How long was the pain and how long before the incisions heal?? Both of my jobs I have to were a Kevlar vest and was wondering how long it will be before I can actually wear my vest again for work after surgery??
