Been ridin' the weight roller coaster since grade school. I have Eastern European ancestry that goes back to
German (Mom's side survived Hitler) and Hungarian (Dad's side survived Stalin). My Great-Grandparents were starving, so they fled Europe and came here. Plenty of food. My sisters and I sat at the table until our plates were empty, hungry or not. I wore "Chubby" sizes in grade school. I remember being measured for my uniform in 3rd grade, and the woman calling out "29-29-29". Isn't that a telephone pole? haha
By Jr. High we moved from Ohio to California. Big shock. I managed to get pretty close to height/weight proportionate, just about 10-15lbs overweight. Got active in sports by high school, so at 5'3", weighed about
125lbs. After high school, the weight crept up, and up, and up. Weighed about 145 on my wedding day no matter how hard I tried to get it off. The next thing I know, it's 195 and I'm getting divorced. Back down to 125. Stayed there for a year or so, then it started creeping back up. Woke up one morning at 205. Got back on another diet and back down to 125. By now I'm in my 30's. Got pregnant at 38 (after 15 years of tyring with no luck). Gained 100lbs. My daughter (who doesn't have a weight problem because I made sure she wouldn't) is now 21. I've been a single mom since she was 3. My weight topped off at 225 after pregnancy and stayed there. Then I woke up at 248. WAKE UP CALL. A coworker got sleeved about a year ago and lost 90lbs. Now it's my turn. So far, my only regret is that I waited so long...
