Tell me everything
Takingcontrol replied to mrs.msp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly, I woke up & felt fine! Thought they'd changed their minds & not done the surgery! I needed no pain med, I did take some anti nausea med just because I was so afraid I'd throw up! But I didn't! I got up and walked without any trouble & was super glad to come home the next day! -
Congrats BB145! I think you made the perfect choice! I could've written that myself! I was ALWAYS obsessing about food! It's only been 6 wks now & I no longer have that obsession! I LOVE being able to eat just a small amount & be perfectly satisfied! I now eat to live..NOT live to eat! Good luck!

R.I.P. Diet Soda?
Takingcontrol replied to conshy416's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon said the same thing...could cause gas pains, but was ok to try. I was a diet coke aoholic....but since my surgery 6 weeks ago I have only had a few sips of one this weekend after he said ok! I had no problems & it was GOOD! But I know there not good for me, so I will avoid them....but I do plan on indulging every once in awhile! -
I think it's like everything else...it COULD cause gas pains, but might also be ok for you! Rule of thumb.....if it causes pain...Don't do it! If it doesn't...go for it!

I use my fitness pal! Love the way it keeps up on my protein for me! I THOUGHT I was surely getting more then enough protein...then started tracking it & was surprised to see that I'm only getting average 40-50g! :-(

Anyone else try to convince their spouse/significant other?
Takingcontrol replied to ISleevedIt's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No, I've been trying to talk my hubby into it too! He hasn't been big as long as I & gone thru all the diets I have...so he thinks he can do it on his own! I'm trying to help him & at least with me not eating much we don't go out to eat like we used to & since I'm eating healthier...& cooking healthier...he gets better meals! We will see how it goes! -

I had my surgery Dec 17, so couldn't eat much Christmas or New Years! But I survived! My doctor doesn't even do a pre-op diet, just liquids the day before...So I think starting your pre-op on day later won't hurt anything though! Enjoy your anniversary! -
Sorry ren0318, I just saw this...I have Aetna. YW sbekch! Hope you don't get denied though!

What joatsaint said, eventually you should be able to eat or drink anything you want...just in smaller amounts. -

What type of fish can I eat a semi large portion?
Takingcontrol replied to Iweeny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I just cut up my food & hide it under other things....like the bread, etc. If all else fails just throw your napkin on it when no one is looking...they'd never remove it to see what you ate!
