Post-Op Transition Back to Food -- SLOW!
Takingcontrol replied to jemmie621's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your right...everyone's doctor's are different. I was cleared for real food after 2 weeks & have had no problems. Best advice is to follow what YOUR doctor says! Good luck! -

How long until "real" food?
Takingcontrol replied to SleeveBeliever's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Everyone is different. Some cant tolerate certain things...then some (like me) can't eat anything I did before! The only thing I have found my new sleeve doesn't like is raw onions...I just get a little "burpy" other then that I eat what I want..just much smaller portions! -
Just one...they melt on your tongue & work pretty fast!

Mine brought me home chocolate covered strawberries ( ok, I actually enjoyed one!) & a flipping Cheesecake!! He's fixing to wear that!!! :-( -
ok, my surgeon says he would rather me eat my protein instead of drink it, says protein shakes are "empty calories'! But there is no way I can eat enough to get 60+ gr of protein in a day! I usually get 40-50 without a shake! Has anyone else been able to do it without shakes??

Woohoo...you go girl! -
& I make sure to get 64oz of water..I drink water all day...carry it with me wherever I go!

Like I said...I was released to eat anything at week 2. But usually I have an egg for breakfast, for lunch a pkg of tuna or 1/2 an Atkins frozen dinner, some nuts or 1/2 an orange for snack, then for dinner 3-4oz of protein (usually chicken, maybe 1/2 a hamburger patty). If I get hungry later I might have a protein ball (there's a recipe on the site) or a piece of cheese. I usually eat between 500-700 calories & get between 45-60 gr protein.
-
Congratulations!
-
Doesn't sound like your getting near enough protein or water. But your still not taking in enough calories to stop your weight loss. I would suggest trying to snack on something with protein instead of the jello/pudding. What have you been released to eat? I was allowed anything at 2 wks...but all doctors are different.
-
What r u eating? Maybe that would help us to see if there's a problem? I think your just adjusting & it will happen...I've only lost 25 lbs & I'm not quiet 2 months out.
