Takingcontrol replied to samantha(:'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unfortunately this is a reality sometimes...you can't fix them, all you can do is do what you need to do for you! -

Unflavored Protein Powders
Takingcontrol replied to KateClivex's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I use the injury, it dissolves quickly. However, when mixing it with liquids(like tea) it does have a slight aftertaste. -
I had it right after surgery, & only mildly the next week. I've been fine since.

Try drinking some pickle juice...the vinegar will help nullify the acid.

6 mos Post Op & Beyond!
Takingcontrol replied to takroom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand, sorry...my response came across a little judgmental & I didn't mean it that way. I was just curious what your goal was. You should be proud of your achievement so far! Have you tried the Diva bootcamp? It just may help you loose that last few lbs! Good luck..I can't wait to be in your shoes! -

Advice please?!
Takingcontrol replied to aylalinngren1026's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just do as YOUR dr says...don't get caught up in the different things others say cause all of our dr's are different! Just do what yours says & call them if you have any questions or problems...other then that, you will be so glad you took this step! -

So will i ever be able to eat that again?
Takingcontrol replied to newme31's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had any friends sleeved who have had dumping syndrome...I DO have friends who had the bypass who have it! I agree with the first response...I have eaten anything & everything that I have wanted...just WAY smaller portions..& have had no issues! I do not do this all the time (before the herd attacks!!!) but if I'm out & others are having things..I enjoy a few bites & am done! My dr said I should try anything I want...if it hurts/makes me feel bad..don't do it! Works for me! Good luck on your journey! -
*Rolls eyes* Do I really have to give up Coke?!
Takingcontrol replied to MK1986's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I WaS a diet coke addict, my dr said I prob wouldn't even want or like them now...but he was wrong! He also said I could try & if it didn't give me gas pain...it was ok to have them in moderation. I was sleeved in Dec & since then have had 3...I haven't finished any...just a few drinks & done. Again...every dr has different rules...do what works for you! I got sleeved to get my life back & help me moderate...I don't see anything that I will NEVER have again...just smaller portions. I know others will disagree with me....but like I said, do what works for you! -

Three meals a day... No snacking!?
Takingcontrol replied to kimikat3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess this all just proves that all of our dr's have different views on this just as on when & what to eat post-op! My lunch is 11:00, & I personally would starve by 5:00 if I didnt have a snack! I guess just do what works for you! -
Three meals a day... No snacking!?
Takingcontrol replied to kimikat3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Exactly! & when I say "snack" I dont mean a meal....I have maybe a slice of cheese, a few almonds, or a Protein ball! Just enough to keep the hunger at bay & let my body know its not strarving so keep burning! -
Three meals a day... No snacking!?
Takingcontrol replied to kimikat3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told & follow, 3 small meals & 2 snacks a day. Keep fueling your body to boost your metabolism to burn the fat -
If your heart is beating slower..your blood is moving slower! You've notified your surgeon I'm guessing, maybe you should check with your pcp?

I honestly don't think it matters! I've known bald men who were very sexy....& men with beautiful hair who were ass holes! It's the person...not the hair!

Counting calories or counting carbs?
Takingcontrol replied to Michelle Wolfe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think I could possibly take in too many calories! I concentrate on carbs & try to take in as few as possible! -
WHAT TO EXPECT PAIN WISE AFTER SURGERY?PLZ INFORM ME..
Takingcontrol replied to dat_sweetmami's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The gas is trying to escape...& gas rises! It has a tendency to settle around your shoulder blades & cause pain. That's why it's so important to walk ASAP & get it out!
