    Scolded by an internist.

It's hard to be tuff...but remember YOU are the patient & you have the RIGHT to be treated with respect! You should call the office & speak to the office manager & demand that your apts from now on are with the surgeon himself....or another internist! Some people just get off on a power trip & think their God or something! Don't let them bully you!

    Has anyone tried Protein Ice?

Looks good, no carbs & no sugars. But I haven't tried them....hopefully someone else on here has..interesting to find out!
  4. Back off Amazon....you can't say that, you have no idea what research she's done!! & she is TRYING to learn more here! If you can't be supportive then be quiet!
  5. You didn't offend me! I just wanted to make sure people understood not all of us are against WLS, many of us have had it! Heck, I work with 4 nurses (that I know of cause we all don't share our surgery) who have had surgery! It's all good!
  6. I have been waiting for nice weather to wear my white jeans..well, I put them on yesterday...& they fell right off!! Good thing I was still inside!! :-O
  7. Hang on there Chaparra, see....there are lots of nurses who don't feel this way...so don't lump us all into the anti-surgery pile! Lol...& also you have to agree, there ARE some complications that CAN occur with this & any other surgery...we have seen that with some of our family here on this site! But Most of the complications these particular nurses are talking trying to scare you about is from the RNY....not the sleeve. The sleeve is safer with fewer complications..but there are complications that can happen....and you do have to consider those when making your decision. But as you can see, many of us here are in the medical field, fully understand the possible risks...and have chosen the surgery. Good luck to you!
  8. I'm a nurse, and there are several nurses & even doctors on this site who have had surgery! My former PCP had this surgery! And there are at least a couple of people I have seen here who are pregnant or have had children post-op....so that shouldn't concern you either! Giggles is right...it's very easy for others who do not go through the issues we have to have judgmental attitudes, you have to go with what you feel in your heart is right for you! I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this on top of the regular up & down emotion of having surgery. Stay focused, & good luck on your journey!

    New One in Tx

It's all normal emotions...& yes, I'm sure they will intensify as you get closer. I wasn't scared at all...more excited! I had to jump through insurance hoops for over 6 months..so I was READY! I LOVE my sleeve, & hopefully you will too! Idk if your partner is heavy too or not....but my hubby & i have used this as a bonding experience! he needed to loose weight to, so he is eating the high protein with me & we are loosing together! Good luck on your journey!

    My pants fell down!

That's funny Mark! Idk if I'd say more respect though...just makes me shake my head more! Oh we'll...at least it will be easier to catch them when theirs fall down around their ankles & trip them! Lol
  12. You craved something, you had it! Craving should be satisfied...throw the rest out & keep on trucking! It's called life..& it happens! Don't beat yourself up over it!
  13. First...I finally bought a new food scale & realized that I have been way over estimating how many oz's I've been eating! :-( & I discovered that cake & ice cream are slider foods for me! Grandsons Bday party...Baaaadddd! :-(

    2 new findings this week!

I wasn't over eating....I was under eating....I was guessing I was having 3-4 oz of meat when I was actually eating 1 1/2 or 2. But now I know, it's going to be even harder getting in the protein!

    2 new findings this week!

Thanks for the suggestions Michelle...& at home I'm sure I would make those choices...but since most children's Bday parties do not have those readily available...I will eat the cake & ice cream in moderation & make up for it in other ways...like exercise!

    2 new findings this week!

Nancy..thanks for your concern...but I did not ask for your opinion! I KNOW cake & ice cream are not healthy...it was my grandsons Bday & YES...I did celebrate with him! I had a very small piece & only ate about 5-6 small bites! It was Yummy...& my tummy handled it great! I stay on track very good, however I had the sleeve to enhance my life...not rule it! & I have & will eat what I want in moderation! If dieting 24/7 for the rest of your life works for you...great!
