I have to say, I'm sticking with my Ensure High Protein (now Ensure Active) 25g protein and it's ready made in individual to go bottles. So easy to take with me when I travel or just to grab and go every morning. And, they taste good!! I watch for sales in grocery stores and CVS, so I keep a nice stock of them at home. Walmart seems to be cheapest place though. They are honestly the only protein shakes I like and a year and a half later I'm still enjoying one every morning.

I also choose not to tell anyone at work for this reason and because it's none of their business. Since I never opened the conversation with them they realize that it's not a topic for discussion with me. Will they talk behind my back? Yes...but they were going to anyway. Now I just don't have to be part of it. Don't get me wrong..I have some good friends at work who would be supportive, but they are outnumbered by gossiping women who are in everyone's business and I don't partake in that b.s.

I had problems with all Protein mixes...premixed ones were much easier for me. Muscle milk lite was easiest for me to drink. ,(pour into mug though) Counted on them and Cannon Fit and Easy Greek yogurt to get me by. Recently I found Ensure Extra Protein shakes..not cheap but easier and tastier for me to drink. Appt with NUT tomorrow ....gonna show one to her and see if she approves.

I have ignored the " how much have you lost question" every time I have been asked. I think it's like asking a woman in her 50's how old she is...it's rude and it shouldn't be done. Most obese people don't advertise their actual weight on a daily basis....so why would they want to discuss it with others now? If people want to say something it would be better to say your looking good and move on. If we want to offer more info we will.

This sleeve has made me a really classy date

I feel badly for you but glad you've kept your sense of humor about it...although I'm sure you weren't laughing that night. The hospital gave me a plastic ring with a blue plastic bag attached to it for nausea...which I've thankfully not needed. If is very compact. this story has inspired me to put it in my purse -
Took a quick look and there seems to be quite a few versions...can you say which you use specifically?

Ice Packs!! There were many moments after surgery when I started to feel light headed and nauseous. Thankfully, I knew enough to ask for an ice pack and place it on the back of my neck. (learned this when I got light headed once giving blood) Worked like a charm and stopped me from being naus. (I did not want to throw up!!) I kept it with me at all times in the hospital and the first couple of days at home. It also helped me to soothe the migraines I got from the morphine! Just wanted to share that tip because it was a huge help to me. If anyone else has some similar tips like this...please add them

Anyone had surgery and was alone afterwards.
Booney replied to MsBriteEyez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not going to lie- I really needed my sister when I got home 2 days after surgery. I got pretty nauseous and was having trouble getting any Protein in me...so, I started getting light headed. My sister was there to get me ice packs to help me through those dizzy moments and grab me SF ice pops which really saved me! I know some people are ok alone but, in my opinion, it is best to plan on having some help (which you can always cancel), rather than risking going it alone. I'm not sure if it's in your budget but...you can always call a home care agency and ask about having an aide come for a few hours the 1st day or few days. Or, maybe call your church (or any religious/community organization) and see if they have anyone who might be able to help you out for not too much $$. We did that to find a companion for an elderly Aunt and found a lovely woman to help her for years. I'm sure many have gone it alone though...I just wouldn't say it is the best option. But, sometimes, we don't always have options. So, if you can't find help, you will always be able to call 911 for assistance. Best wishes to you!!! -
1st post...2 days til surgery....fingers crossed! Starting to get a little nervous. Thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences. I have certainly learned more on here than I have anywhere else. I read that quite a few people felt miserable right after surgery, but when did everyone start to feel a little better? And, when were you able to drive again?
