I've been stuck on a plateau for about a month now. I think I'm not eating enough food. Plus it's hard to stick to all healthy choices, when I've got a pantry with questionable stuff in it. I have been thinking about getting the Nutrisystem meals sent to my house. :scared2: This way I would have a counted meal plan every day so it would be easier to keep track of. Who knows it's possible that a 30 day meal supply might last 40 days with the amount that I can eat.:crying: Has or is anyone else doing a food plan?

I know that you need fills to help you eat less, so that you can lose weight. Is it possible to be too tight and still not lose weight? Like I"m not eating enough? I have been at a plateau for about 1 1/2 months. A friend of mine thinks i'm too tight. Eating real food doesn't really work for me until dinner time. I probably throw up maybe every couple of days. I had an unfill about a month ago, and felt that i could eat too much and didn't have that full feeling. But every month when I go in for my checkup, they always put some in.So now I don't know what to do. My time of the month could be making a visit soon, so maybe that has something to do with it. let me know what you think, susan

Well,my work schedule really dictates how I eat. I start work at 5am . I usually snack on 2 low cal string cheese when I first get to work. At 7am we have a break and I will have a yogurt or a cup of maple brown sugar oatmeal. Then we have another break at 9am. Sometimes I'll have either a cup of pudding or a fiber 1 bar. I've also discovered the Special K protein bars. Lunch is at 11:30. Cottage cheese, lunchables(I usually can't eat it all) left overs. Lunch is very hard for me. I think it has something to do with rushing to much. We only get a half hour. Sometimes what I do get down and keep down produces sliming up to an hour afterwards :smile:. I get off work at 1:30 and home by 2pm. I have about 2/3 cup of pumpkin seeds, which I love and are filled with omegas and protein. Sometimes dinner is just a bowl of cheerio's.(There's just me and my 3 dogs, so I dont' have to cook for anybody.) I have also learned what DOESN'T work::wink: cold chicken or reheated chicken taco bell burrito supreme's overcooked shrimp any kind of meat that has been fried THank GOd!!!!, I can do steak> Luv steak and don't have a problem with it at all, while it's brother, hamburger somedays are better than others. Yeah I still snack, but I try and do better than I used to. I buy those 100 calories snacks and limit myself to 2 of them and not bag after bag. I weakness is still chocolate or candy. So far I've been good with Easter approaching, but I might have to get me a small bag of the Cadbury mini eggs. That is my normal day. Susan -
I have been having the same problem. I think my problem is the first meal of the day is always hard for me. Breakfast is OK, i usually have a pudding cup of a yogurt. But when it comes to lunch time, it's rough! I would say that 4 out of 5 days, i have a problem with sliming. I carry around a styromfoam cup, until the feeling subsides. Also I don't think I take small enough bites or chew enough.

Hi, I too have been on a plateau for about the last month. I analyze and think, I don't really eat all that much. Sure sometimes I don't make the right choices, but I'm overall pretty healthy. But maybe I'm not eating enough. I always heard you have to eat to lose weight. Hell, they even preach that on the biggest loser. I do write down what I'm eating but I haven't tallied the calories. I think I should be eating around 1200 calories, but how much fat should I be consuming? I go Monday to get a fill, maybe I should ask them .

About a month ago I went in for either a fill or not one at all, and they ended up taking some out. I was having major sliming problems almost every day for lunch. I literally had to carry a spit cup around for the first 30 minutes to 1 hour after lunch. It was that bad!!:smile: So this last Monday I went in for a fill. The dtr. is a one-man-show so his nurse practitioner does fills also. She said "Ok, I'll put the .05 back in then." That's when I told her that my card that they write on for me to keep track on said -.25. So did the dtr write it down wrong in my chart or did his assistant write it down wrong on my card? She went ahead and put the +.25 back in. She wanted me to take big gulps of water before I left, I didn't have any problems. Usually I dont though, sometimes it's not until 1-2 weeks before it feels like I have a restriction. So tonite is my first real food night, and I'm very tentative about the possiblity of real food. (my dtr wants people to eat soft foods for 48 hours after a fill.) I know I've just got to go slow and chew, chew ,chew. Small bites and rest in between my bites. I'm just leary, you hate to feel bad. I know if I just slow it down and relax I will be fine. Thanks for listening.:thumbup: Susan

been stuck on a plateau for the last 2 weeks, so haven't been eating my best. But today I've had; Breakfast 1 1/2 oz pumpkin seeds (addicitive) Lunch 1 bowl (6oz) homeade vegt. soup snack 3 pepperidge farm milano cookies dinner probably left over chili with some cheese and fritos It's not that I eat too much it's the choices I've been making that keep me at my weight. But rejoice I get a fill tomorrow.

It's been 4 and 1/2 monthes since I was banded. This is what I think I have figured out about me::thumbup: Because I have pudding or a yogurt for breakfast, lunch usually doesn't work very well for me because of 1. I don't feel that I have the time to leisurly eat for longer than 30 minutes(Break is 30 min.)I think I am rushing and not chewing enough or taking small enough bites, and/or 2. Because it is the first chewing meal of the day, my stoma is not ready to except food. Some days I can eat with no problems while others there's a problem. If I get too full, I slime, like big time. Were talking saliva flooding the mouth and having to spit 8+ times for the next 30 min-1 hour. It sucks!! Throwing up is a rarity, but it does happen. Ususally it's over seemingly mudane things. Sometimes if it's too fatty or fried it's a problem. Example I had 1 fried chicken leg, and then proceeded to feel miserable and in pain and threw it up in the kitchen sink. The next day had a piece of cold chicken, pulled the fried and the skin off and it was fine.( I make it point to have the same thing that made me sick again to help determine if it was my habits when consumed or just something I cant eat anymore.) Hamburger that I could eat right after my surgery, now I have a problem with, although I can eat steak with no problem. It's quirky. My work had Fazoli's come in to set up a sellable lunch for us, I got spaghetti and meat sauce, 2 bites in nope, not happining. Felt like it was stuck in my throat. But the day before I had a chili cheese dog and not a problem(couldn't eat it all-for those that are wondering) I guess it's just figuring out what works for you, not everybody is going to be the same. I hope this helps some of you out there with the same kinda problems that I have and I feel better because I got to vent. Have a good weekend eveybody, Susan:thumbup:

How many fills have you had? I know for me after 3 fills now, I am just getting to know my full feeling. And I can tell you, I think mine halted because I was eating too much, even though my body wasn't telling me I was full yet.:thumbup: -

Night Hunger Pains

I had that happen for a week straight. 3 days I was in a spaghetti faze, plus it was easy. Then I had a fill and had to do liquids and soft foods for 48 hours. By the end of my work day, my stomach was grumbling away. I figured that I wasn't getting enough protein in at lunch, which was causing my lunch to NOT linger in my tummy making me feel full. Any Reasonable Quick Fixes For When You Overeat?

DONT DRINK ANYTHING!!!! You would think this would help, but that would be a mistake. It feels like it compounds it more. Getting up and walking and moving around helps. Concentrate on your breathing and relax. Positive thoughts:smile2: -
Almost nothing is out of the question.(Chicken and noodles, iffy) Just remember to take little bites. I plan to enjoy my Thanksgiving. I'm even going to have pumpkin pie. It will probably be only a few bites, but that's OK. It'l be nice to not gain after a Thanksgiving meal. I just had a fill this past Wed. also, it has greatly reduced how much I can eat. But I will just put a little bit of everything that I enjoy on my plate and savor it.

I've had 2 fills. The last one was back in mid Sept. I was suppose to have on on Oct. 1, but was going out of town for a wedding and didn't want to feel sick. And I wanted to be able to enjoy myself. My doctor said he thought maybe I would do ok waiting till the next time. I had lost 32 pounds in 2 months. He was very happy. So now I don't go and get a fill until Nov. 12. And I'm dying to get one. I'm still losing weight, just slower now. Granted a loss is a loss, but it's just hard to look at it and think things are still going ok. I have a 14cc band and I have 6.08 in right now. The last time I got a fill, I only had .08 put in and I could feel it. The first week I did great, week 2 was sick alittle, and week 3 & 4 great again. No week is ever exactly the same. I have also found that sometimes when I eat a steak or some really good protein, I lose weight more. Have a Happy Halloween everybody!!!:smile2:

I like getting a calorie book or you can go to calorieking.com and type in just about anything. Even fast food places. I had to wait almost a year from the time I first started researching it to actually having it done. But sooo worth it!!!!:smile2:

Banded on July 24 and have lost 36 pounds so far. Haven't had a fill for about a month. Went out of town and didn't want to be miserable and wanted to enjoy myself. Then they called me to reschedule my appointment because the doctor would be out of the office. So now I have to wait another 2 weeks for a fill. But this will be my 3rd one. The weight is still coming off, just a lot slower than it was. The bottom line is how much will be gone by summer of next year, when I want to look good in a bikini. :thumbup: -

Five days after banding and I'm hungry!

Hi, I was banded on July 24, 08. My doctor didn't due a fill until 6 weeks after surgery. Apparently it takes about 6 weeks for your stomach to heal and the scar to form around your band. He did fill my 14cc band with 3cc's of fluid during surgery.(which I didn't find out until my 2 fill). I lost 13 pounds through my 2 week all liquid pre-op diet. I only gained 1/2 pound back between surgery and first fill. I felt really lucky, I guess alot of people gain some of their weight loss back during this time.My doctor told me to eat until I was full. Which I did, but I also tried real hard to not eat junk food. Also the first week was liquids and creamed stuff. The 2-3 week was mushies and softies. It was only by week 4 that I could have anything that I wanted. I figured I was going to have to change my lifestyle along with my bad eating habits, so I might as well start now, while the temptation was at it's hardest. Now, I'm glad to say that ice cream, candy bars and pepsi that I enjoyed on a regular basis, is not a big loss. I think I've had 1 candy bar in the last 11 weeks and it was a Heath bar. I tried to stay away from something real gooey or nouguty for fear of it getting stuck. I savored it! It's not about all the things that you can't have. It's learning to eat responsibly and saying "yeah, I can have that", because it's a treat that everybody should get to enjoy. When that's ALL that you eat, is when it's a problem. There's nothing that I haven't done. I don't really exercise like go to the gym. I work in a warehouse unloading trucks, so I get alot of physical activity on a regular basis. (Unfortunatly like I said, not a lot of PHYSICAL activity if you know what I mean.) I want to get a WII fit I here they are alot of fun. I guess there's a dance game and some type of hula hoop thing besides the basic yoga type stuff. :thumbup:

I wish I had that problem. No man in my life right now. I would guess when ever you feel comfortable. They say it takes 6 weeks after surgery for the band to heal/scar around your stomach. So if your worried about the pressure of someone smashing you, do what I would do....be on top!!:thumbup:

I had a 14cc band put in. At the time of surgery my doctor put in 3cc. I went for my first fill 6 weeks after surgery. I got 3cc more. Losing really well. At my second fill only .08 was added. My last fill, I opted not to do it cause I was going out of town for a wedding and didn't want to be miserable or wanted to enjoy myself without a lot of hangups. I'm still losing, but just very slowly now. Almost can't wait to go back at the end of the month for my third/fourth fill. :thumbup: -
Anybody want to add their two cents it would be greatly appreciated. I had my second fill last Thurs. It was only .08. So now I have 6.08 in a 10cc band. Last weekend had company in town and celebrated two family birthdays. Friday we had pizza. (I could only eat a slice and a half) Saturday night, my favorite steakhouse, where I ate Prime Rib and a salad. Sunday brunch consisted of quiche, bacon, fruit. So all weekend I was fine-no problems. Monday nothing. Tuesday my work did a cookout. They fixed all the hamburger patties in advance and then served them in a steam tray. I was about 4 bites into a hamburger patty and got the feeling.:bolt: Like I swallowed 3 lifesavers at once and it was just sitting in my throat. Ended up in the bathroom, throwing up the burger.(I'm thinking it was too dry)That night I had hamburger helper with no problem. (Plus I have had hamburger before.) Wednesday at lunch, no problem. Wednesday nite went to Red Lobster with a friend, had salad, crab legs, flounder and a baked potato. No problem. Took my left over flounder to work on Thursday, two bites in and bad feelings.:tt1: Kept it down, but lots of spitting due to the buckets of saliva that kept invading my mouth. Feeling passed. Had a protein bullet. Today at work, I took the last of the hamburger helper left overs. Once again, a couple of bites in and nope, it's not going anywhere. So to the bathroom I go, and up it comes. Tonite I fixed chicken on the grill. Boneless, skinnless, with BBQ sauce. I cut half of a breast and put in on my plate, ate a few bites and oh no, Lifesavers again. Lots of spitting in the sink but I was able to take my mind off of it and it passed on. But miserable with back pain and everything. SOOOOOOOO, the question is: Is it possible to be filled too much, but still be able to eat and have no problems some of the time? I just assumed if you were too full you wouldn't be able to hold ANYTHING down. I go Wedn. for another fill, although it may be an unfill? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Susan
