    Any seattle sleevers ?

Sounds like everyone is staying positive and I am loving reading all the good news. My update is I am down about 28 (surgery 12/31) but I am still very swollen internally so I am struggling even to manage soft foods. What I see as the positive is that I joined Curves for Women and I am loving the workouts. I go three times a week, walk my poodle everyday and I use my elliptical on days I do not go to curves, so I feel great. I go back to the surgeon next week to see if the swelling is reduced if it is then I will begin soft foods once more (Yippy with some sarcasm). Keep up the good work everyone:-)

    Looking for mentor

Hi there...I dont know if I can be a mentor I was recently sleeved(12/31) my track record so far is questionable... Here is the good so far, I eat hardly anything but I am also still on a soft food diet. I get so excited about having an egg and cottage cheese and my best treat is sake (salmon sashimi) it is very soft and I had no problem chewing it. The not so good, learning when I am full because my brain is still working as a person who can eat as much as I want( puking is so unfun at this point). Not drinking enough and taking a trip to doctors offfice to get iv therapy for dehydration I dont regret this journey but everyday I learn something new about this change, I joined a gym today went and worked out and I wanted to work out later this evening it was strange, I opted for a walk. Thats what I have I dont know if it helps or scares you but I have no regrets, this is about having a better quality of life and Im on my way. Congrats on your decision

    Any seattle sleevers ?

Congratulations Shawn9x9 today is the beginning of a new start. A new start to make healthy choices and learn how to live without food being the priority. I hope that makes sense just wanting to inspire because while I love to eat, I want to love something else a little more...living. And Onelessfatgirl... congrats to making the decision. The Franciscan group will take great care of you and they have being doing bariatric procedures for more than 10 years, you ae in good hands. Just know once you get to this side of the surgery the work really begins and I know you will do fine.

    Any seattle sleevers ?

Hi shawn9x9, I got my sleeve December 31st, so very new to this journey. I am doing ok, today was my first day back to work and by about 2:00pm I was wiped out but I had no problems keeping with my program. If you have questions let me know. Good Luck tomorrow and I will say a special prayer for you.
  7. Hi my surgery was December 31, 2012 and Dr. Alana Chock was my surgeon. At 46, I had everything on the list; high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, asthma, sleep apnea, and gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD), and joint pain. The only thing not on my list is diabetes and since it runs on both sides of my family it was my turn to literally “look at the woman in the mirror…and change my ways.” So far I am doing alright, I feel fine and being around food does not seem to bother. I do not know how long that will last but for now with my journey that’s ok About me, I am 5”6, and my start weight was 282lbs pre-op and the day of the surgery I was at 275lbs and since my surgery I am now down to 269lbs. It is all gradual but it did not take me overnight to get this heavy. Finally, no regrets, just taking it one day at a time and taking my small slips on my liquid diet so that I heal properly. Thanks for reading me

    Step 2

Congratulations:-) So far for me this is an amazing journey. I am 5 days post-op and when I started my process in November 2012 I felt like my day would never arrive; and here I am recovering and I found this terrific website tonight and I am encouraging someone I do not know. I am still overwhelmed and adjusting but some encouragement I can share is that tonight my family ate McDonalds because I am still recovering and we bought groceries but I was too tuckered to provide instruction. The smell did not phase me and ususally french fries hot and fresh are a weakness but nothing. That was a small victory for me and it let me know this was the right choice. It was thier last cheat night we shopped for recipes out of my Weight Watchers recipe book so the entire family is up for change and it feels great. Good luck for your upcoming surgery and drop me a line if you just want to talk through some of the wait time...been there done that:-)
  9. Feeling a little overwhelmed but very excited to be here. I am post-op 5 days so this is the beginning of my journey so to speak. I am feeling ok just taking it one day at a time right now.
