Did you need someone to stay with you post-op?
butterfly_gal replied to extracat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I live by myself and after my two nights in the hospital was on my own. I did fine. Just take it slow and be careful. I made sure I had everything I thought I would need easily accessible. My mother did drop me off and stay with me a few hours, which was welcome, but after she left I was by myself. -
Here is mine. I put an air freshener by it for size comparison

I was so gonna do the same thing this morning. My brush was filled. Luckily I have/had tons of hair so I can't see the loss on my head, just on the brush.

Difficult question to ask.

No smelly problem here. And honestly, my mother had RNY and she throws up alot in my opinion. I have not once thrown up or felt sick to my stomach. I am glad I chose the sleeve. I wish my mom did too. -

How do you stick to 3-4 meals a day?
butterfly_gal replied to marfar7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its funny how different the programs are. My doc & nut say you can have 2 snacks, but make it count. Usually my snacks are protein (cheese, jerky, edamame). If I didn't have my snacks daily I too would be under 500 calories and not meet my protein goal. I am almost 5 months out and down 82 pounds. -
What makes you "dump"?
butterfly_gal replied to alyshac's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am thankful that nothing has made me sick. Granted I haven't eaten large amounts of everything, but I have had bread, sugar... You name it and it didn't effect me. All people are different. -
OMG! What am I thinking!
butterfly_gal replied to wannabaloser's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
It's normal to feel scared. I sure as he'll did. I remember walking into the hospital 5 months ago and feeling so scared I felt like I was going to hyperventilate. At that point I remembered why I am doing this. It is to better your health! You will be fine good luck and I'll be thinking of you! -
protein shakes..... how long?
butterfly_gal replied to Joanna Ortallono's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am almost 5 months post op and have started drinking them daily again. I stopped thinking I could get enough protein with food, but I can't.I use syntax nectar chocolate truffle. sometimes I add pb2 or a half a banana with ice and almond milk and it is delicious. It's like a treat. -
No problem. I was worried too when it was happening and I called my doctors office as well. It lasted a couple days for me and went away.
-
Yes, I had the same pains around 3 or 4 weeks out. I wad told by my doctors its the nerves and muscle healing. Totally normal

I work in a small office doing accounting, administrative and payroll. -
I am flying in about a month and a half and realized something last night that kind of worries me. In the past, at 324, I needed a seatbelt extender. I am now 245, with hopes to be around 230-235 when I fly. people that weight, did you need a seatbelt extender? I know there are variables, but just curious.

I don't know how draw our you are but nuts, jerky, protein bars are good. You could always do a cooler with hard boiled eggs and yogurt. -

Me too! I am 4 months post op, down almost 70 pounds and I feel like I am pre period all the time now. My breasts are tender and all. I assume it because now that I am losing the hormones are acting up.

Surgery gone wrong...lost 7 units/pints of blood.
butterfly_gal replied to need2bthin!'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Did you have blood work done before surgery? I know I was very anemic with a hgb of 9. Any chance you were low blood before and lost more during surgery? -
I used to get constipated real bad too. I have started eating a high fiber cereal twice a week and my problem is gone.
-
I am very interested in seeing how this goes for you. Good luck.
