Would You Have Weight Loss Surgery Again?
butterfly_gal replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Can I ask why? By looking at your profile I think it says you're less than a month out, is that correct? -
Thank you for the suggestions guys. This site is so helpful.

Jp Drain...Worst.Thing.Ever?
butterfly_gal replied to Aprilomg's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
My doctor didn't stitch or glue. Band aid only. When I changed it last night, I looked at it and got kind of creeped out. They said it would be fine. I didn't think it was painful. Just kinda felt weird. It was funny because I told the nurse I was nervous about it and she just started talking to me and all the sudden I could feel this weird sensation and I said "oh!" and that was it. Real fast. -

One Day Post-op...GAINED 12#!
butterfly_gal replied to mwrarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gained 9 pounds in the hospital and it was all gone by the third day home. It's okay, you will lose it very quickly. -
So I was advanced to full liquids today and one of the options if pureed cottage cheese. I used my emulsion blender and pureed the heck out of it but there are still some curds. Did anyone else have to puree cottage cheese and if yes, how did you do it? I was thinking maybe adding milk will help? Or is ok for a few curds? I didn't even think of asking my NUT, but I could always call her tomorrow... thanks!

Daisy is my favorite. That is what I have Thanks for the help. I figured a few little curds probably won't hurt. Thanks again. -
Side effects: is this normal?
butterfly_gal replied to Gburto3's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Glad to hear you figured it out. What iron are you taking? This scares me because I am supposed to start back up on my 150mg iron pill for anemia tomorrow, but I sure don't want to be sick -

I'm 8 days post op and am filled with 4 oz of broth. I just tried yogurt for the first time and ate about 2 ounces and was satisfied. -
5 days post op and worried-feeling horrible.
butterfly_gal replied to KimmieMarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 8 days post op and feel pretty good. I just wanted to agree with you on the drain. The drain was the biggest pain and I feel soooo much better after having it taken out this morning. Most of my pain I was having in my abdomen is gone now. I hope it gets better for you! Good luck. -
March 19th Sleever with question!
butterfly_gal replied to Melisa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 3/19 too. I have not had a BM since 3/21, which was diarrhea. I called my doctors office on 3/25 asking if I should be concerned that I haven't gone. I have no feeling that I even need to go. The nurse said it was normal. All I've been drinking are clear fluids, not even protein drinks, so there is nothing really creating solid waste, just urine. It is now 3/27 and still nothing. I see the doctor today so I am going to bring it up to him. -

Awesome! Congrats, you look great. -
I'm heading to full liquid stage after Wednesday. Besides what you have listed already, my surgeon allows thinned oatmeal or cream of wheat, pudding, pureed cottage cheese, and blended yogurts

8 Months out and still feeling like I'm not worthy of my success!
butterfly_gal replied to Changing B4YourEyes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You are worth it! If you're anything like me, you thinking that you're "not worthy" is a reason why you got to your highest weight. Sometimes, as overweight women, we're made to believe we're not worthy of happiness I think. You are SO worth it and congratulations! I hope I too can have such a great success story as you. -

When will pain at stomach incision site go away?
butterfly_gal replied to MOBD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 3/19 and have a horrible burning type pain under one of my incisions. To the point that I walk hunched over and limp. I did notice that if I put pressure above the incision, that the pain isn't as bad. I'm hoping/thinking it's the muscle trying to heal. I have an appointment with my surgeon on Wednesday so I am going to bring it up to him. -
Am i missing sonething?
butterfly_gal replied to WeightStruggle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon did two leak tests. One while I was still under he filled my stomach with saline and checked for bubbles and the second test was the morning after, I drank some liquid and they watched it on a CT scan or something to ensure no leaks. I'm sure your surgeon has some test that he does. -

Surgery - What to expect? :/ TMI!
butterfly_gal replied to HOLLAND's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
DLV75 I am so relieved to hear that the drain pain is normal. I too feel like I can't take a full breath , like it's rubbing up against my diaphragm or something. I also can not get comfortable to sleep. -
Question to those who have had to have a drain. My incision sight, where the drain is located is leaking from the incision wound. I had to change by bandage twice today. It normal color, smell etc and I called the nurse and she said some drainage is normal, but did you all experience drain leakage from the incision like that? I know it shouldn't bother me, but it does.

I have BCBSIL, but I do live in Illinois. The insurance advisor for my surgeon said that BCBSIL is one of the top for approvals. I found out I was approved within 10 days after she submitted. Sorry I can't completely help you.

butterfly_gal replied to HOLLAND's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't speak for everyone but my experience was not horrible. I am 3 days post op. I feel pretty good considering. I am a little sore. I have been fortunate to not have the naseua yet like some. I honestly have to say so far the biggest thorn in my side is this stupid drain! It drives me bat ass crazy. I wish I could just have it taken out right now haha. Other than that. Not bad. And take this from someone who has never had surgery before or had kids. Good luck to you...you'll be fine.
