Im back all done... no port just a big hole... which i havent seen its all covered up. It was the worst thing i ever went through Im still shakey from the experience. after i was all gaused up I had bad pain in my chest Dr. said that it was from maybe him tugging on the port a bit. then I couldnt breathe I was gasping for air crying and screaming it was the worst feeling ever. Anyway my Dr. did not find any infection but He thought that since i was taking the antibiotics the pus was not showing up yet. He says we got out the port in time before it did start getting pus. Well thats my story, Im still very shakey from the whole thing.. and I guess I should go lay down. I will be home tomorrow... I have to go by the Dr.'s office in the morning to get my hole repacked. but i will be on later. (((((hugs))))) everyone! I sure do need all the hugs i can get.

Well everyone Im here in CO.. and sure enough I am getting my port taken out. And it is going to leave me with a gapping hole..... Lisa help me please!!!!!!!! Anyway I dont even know what to think right now, I am numb!! I will let you all know how it goes tonight.

Oh how pretty thoes blue little flowers are. I wish so much that I had a yard to plant flowers.. I love Calla Lililes.. well any kind of Lililes really. I dont have much of a green thumb so I would probably kill everything I grew. lol

I party a lot, but I never have gotten to the point of puking because I drank to much. The only problem that I ever had is eatting after or during my drinking... even with no restriction you can still get food stuck.

He is just as upset as me, He doesnt even know what to say.. but hes here more and hates to see me hurting so bad. I dont know what I would do without him.

I would have to fly... No way am I driving to CA... its about 1,000 miles to LA from Albuquerque...

I had a leak in my port and it was replaced in Dec. now we found out I have a leak in my band and I will be getting that replaced in May. I am going this weekend to get my port taken out due to an infection i got from a fill I had in March. How did it turn out? what did your Dr. say, do you have a leak in your band or port? Let us know

Your not being pushy at all Penni... thank you for caring so much. I do hope he removes the port, but the way the nurse sounded as though my infection was no big deal I dont know if I will get anything done. You know My Dr. is the sweetest man but if he doesnt fix me soon Im moving on, I will look for another Dr. to take me no matter what it takes. I hate all of this mess already. I am trying so hard to keep my hopes high but its hard sometimes.

I feel really bad. Anyway they called me today from my Dr. to change the time just in case they have to take out my port. Well I told her about the size of the infection and she acted like it was no big deal. Maybe I am making it out to be worse then it is.... I dont know what to do now.. I guess I will drive up to CO and see what happens, I really hope this trip will not be a waste of time and money which I wam really squeezing right now to do this. I am just a little upset right now. Thanks for letting me vent over this

GOOD NEWS!!!! I am going to go see my band Dr. Friday... I am scouring for change to make the trip but it is well needed!!! woohoo finally I got something done! until then...........

No I dont have a band Dr. that is any closer.. There is a few a bit closer in ElPaso... but... I dont know. I am just going to see what happens

I will be calling my band Dr tomorrow. Just to give you an idea of how big it is... the infection/hole area is about as big as the head of a thumb tack.. then the redness is around that. As I look at the size it didnt compare to Lisa's infected area.... my husband gave me a good idea I will take a picture of it holding a dime next to it... I will add it after Im done... Okay here it is

Okay I have been on Antibiotics for 6 days now today is day 7... Does this thing look any better??? Reminder: the infection looks a lot bigger then it really is... it is almost as big as a dime... but still not quite. (thats all i knew to compare it too)

I dont know of any.. my Dr. is in Pueblo, CO... Sorry Good luck finding one.

Well a lot of you know the problems I have had with my band. I first had what we thought to be a leak in my port and that was replaced. I just went for my frist fill after my port replacement, I could feel that he was putting the saline water in... but it didnt last but a min. or two. While testing it her put over 10cc's of the saline in, almost enough to close me off completly, but nothing, I am still the same. Conclusion I have a leak in the Band it self. How that happened, I have no idea, and neither does my Dr. He is not 100% sure it is a leak in the Band, but that is the only explanation. It is very, very rare for the Band to get a leak in it. Lucky me huh.. More like unlucky me! Well my 1 year is coming up on April 28 and I am trying to get a replacment surgery for April 27. My Dr. did tell me that I could keep what I have, since I am not gaining and maybe even lossing a pound here and there, but I didnt come this far to maybe lose a pound here and there... I came this far and I WILL finish this!!!! I am NOT going to give up yet!!!!! Thank you all for your support through all my problems.. Its great to have friends like you! And I need all the support right now, because I feel really bad about this.. and I feel like I got the raw end of the deal with this Band. But I know I got to stick it out and finish what I started! Hi Vera, I didnt get my leak check under fluoro at all, what happen was he would put 4cc or more in and let it sit for a bit while I drank Water then he would pull out what he put in and only .5cc would come out. He did that several times. I know he checked the port after he removed it and there was a leak. Now this time was my 1st fill with my new port and the same thing happened. Yeah and he did replace most of the tubing. I am just waiting now. I was going to have the surgery on April 27th but my neice is getting married April 29th so I wanted to be there for that, and his next open spot was May 25th. I am keeping an eye out on this infection and I am now on oral and cream antibiotics so I hope that they will help.. if not I will be making a road trip soon.

Yeah I did, I talked to Denise and she was very nice and is looking into my band leak. She is going to talk to my Dr. to get more information on it I guess. PM me if you want her email address or phone number.
