All I can say is follow what your Dr. says.. he is a Lap Band Dr. for a reason and I am sure He knows what he is doing in what he tells you. and if you have faith in him then thats all you need.. until then well follow what he says.... Take Care

I had a fill on March 10th, My Dr. gave me a shot to numb me and then he gave me the fill so two shots really. Anyway its been 4 weeks since that day and it dont look good. At first it was a small bruse then it just got worse.. its all scabbed up like it was a cut. It doesnt hurt or anything just bugs. Here is a picture of it... it looks like one of my cuts after surgery. I hope its okay... Any advise? Thanks

Wow Kiely you can really see a change in your face. Good job on the 50 pounds lost. About the fill I would think you would only get a fill if your weight loss has completely stoped and you are able to eat double of what your normally eat with the band (everyone is diffrent) If I were you I would ask my Dr. and see what they say.. let him know what you are eating and how much.. if you have to write it down for a day or two that would be a good idea. But if your losing with what you have now... no need to push it anymore. You dont want to be to tight. Let us know how things go.

8 days out and your are eating that much..... Im not being mean but STOP!!!!!!! please your stomach has to heal... NOT lose weight HEAL!!! it just been poked at stitch a band to it... yeah its not ready to eat. Dont worry about losing weight right now... worry about healing.. Get back on Liquids... follow your Dr. orders!!!!!!

Yeah I do need to go with my gut feeling on this... Done get me wrong my Dr. is a wonderful person, always made me smile and always made me feel like he cared. But after a year of leaked port, replaced port, leak in the band. and now my hole I dont know. Dawn, This infection started out a small ulcer type infection on the surface of the skin from a fill it was 5 weeks before I went to see him again. He would NOT have seen me but I told him my port was sore. otherwise who knows where I would be now. He took out the port in his office and packed the hole and sent me on my way. Told me I could shower with the open wound. I did. next day pus like you wouldnt belive. the pain was bad I wanted to die! my fever got up to 101.4 and I was taken to ER where they were in shock over the fact i did not have antibiotics in me from day one. after port removal. So yeah it is a big choice I have to make. but I have been here on LBT for over 1 year and 5 months So I know these people and they know me. I just want thier advise. Thanks for your wishes.

I feel like crud! I was in the ER all night. They put me on antibiotics. NO I wasnt already on them... I have a hole and my band Dr. did not put me on antibiotics, I asked why this morning, and they said because I didnt need them... Oh good to know I guess LOL

before you cut the meat freeze it and let it thaw just a little... so when you slice it it comes out really really thin. It melts in your mouth and small bites chewed really well with breaks inbetween bites it does fine. I dont know of any good recipes I am just a salt and pepper type of gal myself. and speaking of jerky I am making some today yummmmmm

Oh gosh Thanks you guys! Yes this has been tough year for me. I was in the ER all night last night with a bad infection in my hole. I had a high white blood count and was put on IV Antibiotics. The ER Dr. was shocked to know that my band Dr. did not put me on antibiotics when he did the port removal and was even more shocked to learn my band Dr. was about to stitch it back up. What a year yes. Lets see what comes up this next year. I really dont want to think about it. In all I am really scared. Kathy- Oh yes I remember the Aril 05 thread we thought for so long we were the only ones.. then all of a sudden they all came... Thoes were really fun times. Thanks again everyone for you thoughts and happy wishes today. This should be a day of excitement and joy, but It really is not for me. I am hanging in there and I have not broken down to to much. I agree with Janet. I was hopeing the M of M would of worked for you too. but I would try a suppository that would be your best bet. good luck with everything hope it all comes out alright (pun intended lol)

I dont think you should ever force anything down at any time no matter what. You are still healing. each day will be diffrent. if you cant have a protien shake then dont have one. let yourself heal and listen to your body. I really dont know what else to say but dont NOT force anything down. good luck and i hope you feel better soon

Hanging in there... The burning in my wound is getting better. My MIL has been sending her nurse in to help with the packing. John (my hubby) did it one time and I yelled screamed and tried to kick him... I think he is scared of me now. It also seems to be healing.. I am going back to CO this friday to have it stitch up.. boy I cant wait. also I am getting excited about getting my new band. I hope it works this time and I can melt away. I have been having bad pains on my left side right under my apron tummy... I thought they were gas pains but I had it since Sunday and took Gas X and Milk of Mag. nothing helps it seems to get worse. I have no idea what it could be. If its not one thing its another. Ugh!!!! I hope its not Gallstones.

You might want to take some chewable Gas X that will help with the gas... and you havent had a BM in how long? 1 week? You might want to take Milk of Mag. to get things moving... then start adding Benefiber (comes in powder form no taste) to your water, broth, protien shakes.

I just saw this thread... I have not read thourgh it all yet... but I hope I can join you all in support here... I am 5'1 and started out at 340 lbs BMI was 64.1 Now I am at 290 lbs and BMI of 54.8 but I know most of you know my story and the complications I have had with the band. But I am not giving up I need to lose this weight and I will do anything go thourgh anything to get it done!!! one day I will look back at all the pain I had and I will say it was worth it! Its great to know that us BIG girls can push and give just as much support. We all have it in us!!! Glad to join you all! ((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))

Well I am finally home. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. You all have been such a wonderful support! The drive home was a little rough but better then I thought it would be. I will be back in CO in two weeks to have my hole stitched up. I hate the fact I even had to have this hole at all. I am ready to heal up get my new band and start this journey all over.
