I was sleeved Monday at about 11:39. Very little nausea. Feel like I've done a bazillion crunches And every time I sip my water I get a huge air bubble. I walk it off and then I'm fine until my next little sip. -

My pain level is okay. The worst part is when I get up I have to maneuver myself so my incisions don't pulls. That and the fact the it feels like I have done a bazillion crunches is all the trouble I am having. -
Question for people with small dogs

I think they know something is up. My Siamese Cooper just lays beside me or at the end of the bed watching over me. -
It's finally here! Checked in at the hospital waiting for the nurse to give me my IV, a cocktail for the ball of nerves that have taken up residence in my tummy and something for nausea.

Thanks all! I'm all hooked up now. Should be headed back to surgery soon!

I hate my pre op diet!
babywools replied to softballmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon's practice has a few different pre-op diets they use. What they tell you is determined by BMI. The higher the BMI, the longer they require an all liquid diet. My BMI dropped from 39 to 36 in the past six months. So I have to do a two week pre-op - first week is 2-3 shakes a day plus a meal (not Chinese buffet - docs own words. Apparently some patients think they can drink their shakes And then go to the buffet for their one meal.). Starting Tuesday I will go to full liquids and then clear liquids next Sunday for my surgery on Monday. -
I just looked at my count down app - 10 days to go. Wow! I have been on my pre-op diet for a week (by choice) and my heart did a little flip flop when I saw the days left. I guess I may be hit by the nerves after all.

My doc says they are a must the first week. It's going to be a little pricey - even New Whey at Walmart is $2,97 each.

I got my date today! July 15. I see the surgeon in the morning and get my vitamins and protein powder. I think I will start my liquid diet on Monday or Tuesday. So excited!

I picked up a Ninja at Target for $50. Probably doesn't have all the bells and whistles but I works for me. -
Has the sleeve not worked for you?

Surgery date - July 15
babywools replied to babywools's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon uses different pre-ops based on BMi. He said I could have 1 lean high protein meal a day up until the day before. Then just clear liquids. -
I started my pre-op yesterday. A few days early, but wanted to see how I would do. Pretty bad headache, but other than that, it was okay. My daughter sat next to me eating Cheetos and I didn't want them at all. Progress!! We will see how today goes. I have an 8 hour drive. :/

My surgeon required you buy from them the first time to ensure you are getting enough vitamins right after. A starter kit of Bariatric Advantage with multi, B1, probiotic, biotin, B12, 2 bags of calcium chews, iron and one other that I can't recall is $190. Then add in two bags of Bariatric advantage protein and I hit $350 with tax. Yikes! I keep telling myself I will make it up in savings on eating out.

Surgery date - July 15
babywools replied to babywools's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Definitely! I like knowing others will be with me in spirit the day of surgery. In other news I went ahead and started my pre-op diet today. Oh my Lord, the headache! On the bright side I get to have grilled chicken and green Beans in a couple hours. Hopefully that will help. -
Praying it is nothing serious!

Surgery date - July 15
babywools replied to babywools's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started with my seminar in January and my intake appointment in Late January. I made the decision to this in December. I had to do a 3 month supervised diet and then get a cardiology clearance (my cardiologist is über careful so I had a stress test, nuclear stress test and echo on top of the EKG the surgeon wanted. That's a good thing, but it added a month to my wait time. But now I have the date and time (I check in at 7:30 on the 15th and hit the OR at 9:30). I am sure the next two weeks will fly by! I have started dreaming about why I will look like and what I will do when I lose 85-90 pounds. . I have my first shake sitting by me. Since I don't have to do full liquids I am starting today instead of next week. Hopefully I will lose a few more pounds this way.
