I've had Thyroid Cancer in the last 12 month and had my throid removed along with radiation therapy.

It has been a tough 12 months and I put on 10kg (22#) after having my thryroid removed and then 10kg (22#) after have my lap band removed.

I had my lapband put in, in 2006 and only lost about 20kg (44#) and then maintained for the next few years. I loved my band because it actually stopped me from putting on any weight but I did vomit every day and couldn't eat a lot of fruit or veg, it also didn't seem to matter what I did I just couldnt shift the weight.

After seeing a friends success I decided to switch to the sleeve and its lucky I did because my surgeon said it was a mess inside. I was also very lucky that my band surgeon had moved and that I had to get a new surgeon. He is amazing and I love it. I was sleeved on 22nd Jan 13 and hope to God that this works. I've had a slow start and am hoping that it isnt a sign of what is to come.
