MiDoctor Hospital (any surgeon!) 2013 Roll Call!
1hotmama*77 replied to Armywife29's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I am booked to have surgery with Dr. Garcia at MI Doctor Hospital on May 7, but considering switching to the 6th to have same day surgery. -
Has anyone had any complications with Dr Garcia doing the sleeve?
1hotmama*77 replied to latina1974's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I did read somewhere that he hasn't had any leaks if that helps any. I am using him too and I have total confidence that he is a very good surgeon! My surgery is scheduled for May 7, but considering switching to May 6, so I can have it the same day I fly in as well. -
I will be there from May 6 to 11 with Dr. Garcia. Hubby is coming with, but would hook up with you while we are there if you need company.

TUMMY TUCK TOMORROW MORNING
1hotmama*77 replied to frumpynomore's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Just wondering which surgeon you used for your TT? -
Dr. Fernando Garcia
1hotmama*77 replied to Jarrod1997's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I would say it would be fairly useless to get it done with a higher BMI because you will probably end up having a tummy tuck once you are done and it won't matter if you had scars there because they would be removed when you had the tuck done. My BMI is 35 and I am not even going to have the single incision done as I think I would probably need a tummy tuck once I am finished anyways. -

No More Advil.....EVER!
1hotmama*77 replied to JeffNNJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not know that Advil cannot be taken after surgery. That is the only thing that works for me, yikes!! Does anyone know the reasoning for not being able to take it after? -
What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
1hotmama*77 replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have many reasons: 1. I have gained about 80 lbs in the past 5 years. 2. Every diet I have tried, I have barely lost anything and gained it all back plus some. 3. I cannot fit into any clothes I have. 4. Was always the skinny one. My sister has always been the big one. I am now the big sister as my sister has already had her sleeve and looks amazing! 5. My own health problems, heart, high cholesterol. 6. Something majorly wrong with my legs/calves from gaining this much weight, constantly in pain and now have plantar fasciatis. 7. Spending loads of money getting massages and other treatments to take away the pain from legs/feet and generally all over my body. (from the extra weight) 8. Being asked numerous times by different people if I was expecting.... totally the worst and most embarrassing thing. 9. To hopefully get me off all the different meds I have had to be taking over the past few years. 10. I want to look absolutely amazing for my wedding in April 2014. Tried to look for wedding dresses, but don't want to be the "fat" bride in something that hides me so people cannot see the fat. 11. Last but definitely not least, I want to be there for my kids as they grow up and to be able to "keep up with them" and not be winded or have no energy for anything! I cannot wait to be sleeved in May 2013! -
Dr. Fernando Garcia
1hotmama*77 replied to Jarrod1997's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I did ask him about it and he said it is mostly cosmetic and the surgery itself takes a bit longer. Plus it does cost more too. For me, I think I will stick with the 4 incision surgery. For 1, I don't like anything touching my belly button, so think I would get the willies and grossed right out especially having to have the drain tube out that hole. 2 reason is I will probably have to have a tummy tuck when it is all said and done, which would remove all the scars from the surgery anyways. Just the conclusion and decidion I have come to. -

Is this through Dr. Garcia? What is the cost for just the 1 incision? Wondering if I should do that as well for my surgery? -

Sorry, should be more specific, did they give you the option before you arrived or after you arrived to have your surgery the same day? -

Just curious as my flight arrives at 11:30 AM. When did they give you the option for the same day surgery? I think I may like the idea of this. -

I noticed you are getting surgery close to the same time as me with Dr. Garcia. We may not be there at the same time. I think you are about a week ahead of me. (my surgery date is May 7) I noticed your beginning weight and end weight is the same as mine. Interested in connecting with you and sharing experiences with the sleeve if you would be up for something like that. Would be nice to have someone who is starting at the same place and have the same goals in mind. Let me know or feel free to friend request me. -

Friend needs VSG surgeon recommendation in San Diego
1hotmama*77 replied to vs24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am going across the border into Tijuana to Dr. Fernando Garcia Govea. I am going through Ready4AChange. Everything I have found regarding this doctor and hospital have been very positive. Hope this may help. -
I am planning on having surgery at the MI Doctor Hospital in Tijuana and using Dr. Garcia as my doctor. He is very highly recommended and I have all the confidence that everything will go great. Anyone else ever use him as their doctor before?
