Hi there! I was sleeved on 12/31/12, and it was one week to the day before I could "go". Then every few days. I'm about to start week 5 and it's becoming more regular. Hopefully you will get to where it's more regular. I think it just takes time since we weren't really eating. Good luck to you!

Sleeved 12/31/12 - Down 27 Pounds!
MrsHall42 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all. I was sleeved on 12/31 and today had my first followup. I'm down 27 pounds and got a very good report. The left side pain is much better and I was happy to find that I'm doing great. I had my first soft food today - mashed potatoes! I was scared to death to eat because of so many "horror" stories that I've read but it was just fine. I made sure to take a tiny bite, then a couple minutes in between before taking another. It will take me a while to gain confidence, but as I try new things, I want to make sure I'm cautious! Anyone got any good ideas about what to eat at this point? So far, I've bought eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks! -
Things I LOVE about my sleeve!

Thank you! That was a great list. I'm only 6 days post op and am going through the not so fun stuff, so it's inspiring for me to see what I have to look forward to! Congratulations on your success! -
I have the same question - did the same thing. Here's what I'm thinking. I was sent home with an antacid pill to take twice a day, and the birth control pill is way smaller than that, so it's probably okay to start back taking. I'm six days post-op and am doing good with no nausea finally. I think I'll take the BC pill at a different time than when I take the prescription that I came home with to avoid having too much to digest at once. Would love to hear any advice from others. Good Luck!

Surgery is THIS WEDNESDAY! Getting really scared!

Hi there! Good luck on your upcoming sleeve. I just had mine done in Dallas on 12/31/12. I had many of the same concerns, but just know you be okay. I was able to get up and walk the halls with no problems at all - not too much pain. I threw up twice in the hospital but it was due to the pain meds they gave me - I had to take something different. I haven't thrown up since I've been home. Just be sure to get up and walk it off when you feel nausia and / or gas pains come on. You will be told to sip sip sip the fluids and be like, well, hello, I can only take one sip and I'm done. That's normal. I am 6 days out from surgery and so much better already. I am drinking Protein shakes now and could have never imagined it in the beginning. chicken bouillon cubes are my favorite. Anyway - just take it one day at a time and if things don't go exactly as you thought they would - it's okay. It's a temporary situation and it will get better. Good luck. -
4 days out and having second thoughts

I also just had my sleeve on 12/31/12 and am in the same mindset sometimes. However, I know it will pass and get better. The worst part for me is the nausea. When it hits me, I do get up and walk it off - which is what one of the nurses told me to do. I just hate the part where we sip, sip, sip - and then I get full and can't keep sipping. I'm not really in much pain - just taking liquid Tylenol. Let's hang in there. I can definately tell I'm getting better each day. It gets easier to walk and get up each time I do it. Best Wishes!
