Oh, I am 5'5" tall. I started my pre-pre-op diet on Nov 1st and I was 234. I now weigh 222. Don't remember my BMI now, just know that if I loose 12 more lbs my BMI will be under 35. It needs to be 35 or more. Just have to keep an eye on it.
I have Tricare. Good idea. I know the parameters. Just need to watch myself and stay within. I can do that! I see my surgeon tomorrow, I can ask him more. Thanks!
I was wondering if anyone has lost too much weight pre-op and became unqualified for the surgery? My insurance requirements are BMI of 40 or more or 35 with 1 or more comorbities. I am doing a pre pre-op diet (on my own) replacing breakfast & lunch with a protein shake and having a sensable dinner. I have lost 12 lbs since Nov 1st. My surgeon requested I loose 10 lbs pre-op. I think that if I continue to do what I am doing for the next 7 weeks till my surgery I may be under the BMI requirement. Thoughts?
I was scheduled for sugery and still not 100% sure I am "approved" by my insurance. I assume they wouldn't schedule me if I wasn't. But, we all know what happens when you ASSume something?! LOL!
