I have been eatting for two weeks, chewing well. I began mushies after a week. You are losing well. Are you exercising? I am trying to 3-4 times per week. At least 20 on treadmill and 20 weights. I have dropped a size, yippie. I only had 55 lbs to lose but was unable to get it off for years and there is a strong family history of obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure.. you name it. I am so glad I made the decision to nip it in the bud before I was 100lbs over weight, which my mother is. Had my surgery in Monterey with Dr. Sanchez. I was very impressed. I am an RN and checked it out well, lol.

alice posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am at day 6 post op and can have some cream Soup, but milk makes me so gassy. It never made me gassy before. I am still drinking broth and eatting yogurt. Anything else I can have at this point? It seems even Water gives me a gas bubble, is this normal? Warm stuff is the best it seems. Thanks for any help. -

Just introducing myself - surgery 1/24

I was just banded Tues night. I flew to Mexico ALONE and was frightened at the last minute. I did my research and intellectually felt ok about my decision. Feelings don't always line up with intellect. I am getting better every day. It did not hurt to get up out of bed today, but it hurts to lay on my port side (tender). On a scale of 1-10 with pain, my pain at the worst was a 6. It is not unbearable at all. I have been dealing with depression and second guessing myself, but I have heard that is also normal. I felt peace in my spirit when I made my decision and I always go with my peace. If there is no peace I won't do it. If you are a woman of prayer, then pray about it and God will give you the peace you need if it is for you. -
A few questions for the post-op stage
alice replied to Connorsmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my surgery Tuesday night and began sipping broth and juice 4 hours later. I have been juicing fresh apples, grapes and eatting yougert, broth and today will try juicing carrots and spinich. I have no problems drinking got teas. I drink about 4 cups or more of healing herbal teas per day and try to drink Water. Warm tea seems to do better with me. I tried a protien shake yesterday and got down half of it with a lot of gas after. I bought some soy milk (easier on stomach) and will try a little in a couple of days. I drank coffee pre-op but have not since. I have had some twinnings tea. -
I was banded Tuesday night (48 hours tonight). I have moved most of the gas. The pills they gave me for pain were not efficient. I broke up a darvocette when I got home and it has helped. I am walking. I am unclear about what to take by mouth. Their diet said yougert and milk, but that is not Clear liquids. I have been drinking chicken broth, tea, juice and Water. My stomach growls and wants more, but I know it needs to heal. How long did you stay on "clear liquids"? I feel tired too.

Did you guys feel depressed at first? I feel very depressed and am second guessing myself. What did you use for pain management?

I can not get banded in USA because I am not 40 or over BMI. I am clinically obese, obesity runs in my family as does heart disease, diabettes, high blood pressure and osteoarthritis. It pissed me off that I don't have the option to be banded in USA, but I could go get an elective tummy tuck which is more invasive surgery and you are under longer. Actually in Mexico they have been doing the proceedures longer. Does anyone recommend a good surgeon in Mexico? Has anyone been banded under 35 BMI, if so can you share your results? Thanks
