Yay!! I am paying my deposit next week but not having surgery until June. Wait. Is that a good idea? Should I wait to pay my deposit? I'm pretty excited about this.

I'm sitting in my first WL seminar. I'm the "smallest" person in the room and my BMI is 34.5. (yeah, I'm self pay) I wish this doc would pull an Oprah and say....Surgery for everyone here today!!!!

I was discussing my "crazy idea" to have sleeve surgery with someone. (It will be in Mexico.) This person has never been overweight and has admitted to not understanding addictions or why people are obese. According to them...... I really need to think about why I want to do this. "You want to lose weight, why don't you just do this pre-op and post-op diet on your own? I mean, you are gonna have to do it with the surgery, just do it without the surgery." Ummmm....okay. That sounds easy! (sarcastically) I really need to think about what it is that is making me eat. "Why do you use food for a coping mechanism? I mean, you quit drinking right? Just use that same will power to quit eating so much." Oh yeah! Will power.....duh!!! I really need to do this right and make serious changes. "You need to make sure you exercise like you are supposed to. Even without exercise, I don't see how this will give you more energy or make you feel better." Hmmmm. I guess I have a lot of thinking to do.

How long have you been sleeved? 9 months or since Feb 7, 2012? I'm sorry, I just need clarification.

I"m in an envious fit that I'm not on the list yet!!! I will be. Someday.

I won't miss automatically going straight to the accessories because I know this store or online store does not have my size. I won't miss just dealing with my long hair because I can't stand having to sit that long and look at myself while getting my hair cut.

I have to go alone when I go. I know icon23 went alone. I've heard some people say...I wish I would have come alone, I felt like I had to entertain my companion and I just wanted to rest and heal. On the other hand, I'm sure there are sleevers that went alone that really wished they had someone. I am looking forward to going alone. I get some ME time. Me and ice chips and broth time.

I wanna go to Sexytown with you guys! I think I'll show up fashionably late. I am aiming for a mid/late May or early June date.

Oh my gosh! I used to have a friend that would do that to me. One of the last things she said is....Is your Mom okay? I have a weird feeling something is going to happen. (she doesn't get along with her mom and me and my mom have the best relationship with tons of love) So, EW! to my so called friend, she is no longer in my life. The "Hmmmm. I guess I have a lot of thinking to do." was meant to be sarcastic but it didn't read that way and in no way did I imply it. lol. I just felt like ranting about not getting support. I have since told my mom and she is scared but she will support my decision. No one is changing my mind. I keep changing my mind regarding the dates because of the financial part but I have tentatively decided on the middle-end of May. Hey 2013isit! I'll be back in SD for Thanksgiving/My birthday. We should meet up!

Yes! I can see the difference. Can you 'feel' the difference?

This might be a weird question for this topic but since we are all low BMIers.... Has anyone ever had a high BMI person from this forum question you on why you want this surgery?

Hmmmmm. I'm subscribing to this. I need to know what experienced sleevers have to say. I'm still pre-op and I'm getting out voted by every one I know to NOT have the surgery. Poop.

Yes, just the card will work. No need to get the book unless you are flying into Mexico. If you go across the land border, only a card is needed.

Heck yeah! You have to go Zoriah!! If you don't, I'll go in your place and I'll pay you back. lol.

That's great! I will be applying for mine next week. Not that I have surgery scheduled but I hope it doesn't take too long to get.

Thanks for the Google idea Gracie. I also suffer from depression and have done a small amount of research on Proteins in the stomach and how it would effect me if my stomach was 85% gone. I quickly read a tiny portion of an article in your Google search idea. Along with reading various topics from this website, I'm really worried about my depression getting worse or my meds (or any meds for that matter) not working any longer. How soon after surgery can you start taking meds again? Gracie, would you have this surgery again if you knew how it would affect your depression?

I just got the you are crazy for doing this and you need to seriously think about this lecture from my bf. Awesome! I'm still doing it. He's been thin all his life. He has Crohn's so he will always be thin. I've never been thin. In high school I was a healthy weight and played basketball.

Jesser, I feel exactly the same as you. I'm afraid that if i don't get this done this spring, I might never get it done. If R4AC had that financing option, I would probably take it even though the interest rate seems to be through the roof. Who is Judy?

Thanks for posting about the desk jobs. I also have a desk job and was hoping I could only be out for a week. I mean, I would love to take off longer but it's hard in a smallish office.
