  1. My plan says no Protein Bars. Try making thinner shakes between meals.
  2. That funny. I had sleeve on 12/13, been stalled all of 2013 so far after nice losses prior. Saw my nut yesterday and she said to cut back calories to 500ish. She showed me a paper that says most should be around 500 cal at 1 month. Then she said I needed at least 120g of protein and I pointed out that 120g of protein by itself is 480 calories lol. So I am at a loss. Just going to keep going and follow the plan as best I can, keeping carbs under 40 and getting as close to 100g of protein as I can, and drinking a lot of water.

    All of my December sleevers...

I did a custom goal setup: 800 calories, 50% protein = 100g, 20% carbs = 40g, and rest as fat. I selom make 800c either but I like seeing the news each day that I am under my alloment. I also like knowing how I did on protein and carbs, even during the day. If I see carbs at 30% after lunch, I know I need a lower carb dinner. If you just take the defaults for calories and don't customize the goals by nutrient, it will tell you far more carbs and far less protein than you should be eating.

You can see from my ticker that 29 of my 51 were from the pre surgery diet. I think the better you do one the pre-op weight loss, the less "easy weight" (water / glycogen) you will lose right after surgery. Later it becomes all fat loss (hopefully not muscle or bone density!)

HELP! Which clear liquids should I buy?

Really the cytosport whey is decent, especially diluted with lots of ice. I just sipped away. Tangerine and watermelon are the best two flavors. I didn't buy the case on the shelf, just individual bottles from the refrigerated section of the store.

Depends on where I can get the best price. My trutein arrives on the 17th. I tried all their samples.

HELP! Which clear liquids should I buy?

I found cytosport whey to be the best tasting clear protein. I bought it at vitamin shoppe. I only needed like 6 bottles before regular protein at full liquid stage. Honestly protein isn't a huge deal for a few days, you will have enough problems staying hydrated.

I am really concerned please help

My Prevacid is available OTC. Even generic. Nothing should stop you from trying it for a couple weeks, especially if you have acid or early stomach hunger which could be acid related. My docs say it is very important.

    Omg im so cold!

Ditto this. I ran warm before. Now cold all the time. Hands especially. Maybe our metabolisms shutting down. Explains my stall anyway.

    Im 5 days post op..

I was close to a month before any real hunger was felt.

    Im 5 days post op..

No, proton pump inhibitor . Prevacid, etc. Acid can be misunderstood as hunger.

Trutein... Cinnabun and vanilla especially. The vanilla tastes like Breyers vanilla bean ice cream. They also make chocolate dipped strawberry and chocolate covered banana. very real tasting. I hate most proteins too. Xtreme Formulations UP 2.0 is higher calorie like a meal replacement powder but most say it tastes even better (and is easier to get). IForce vanilla cupcake batter is also pretty good but slightly higher carb. If you want a low carb whey isolate, I like Allmax Isoflex (chocolate peanut butter cup). The nectar stuff you have been trying is sickly sweet to me.

I can't deal with this stall anymore

Hmmm. I was out the next day too but I have 4 incisions. The bottom one is fairly long, at least an inch. The others are about a cm each.

    Scale obsessed!

I started losing on day 7 (like crazy) that lasted about two weeks until stall.... Eating and drinking is hard that first bit. Now I can eat but struggle with drinking enough. Keep at it.

    Fast Food Options...

In a pinch. 1 chicken strip at chick-fil-a fits nicely. Nice moist protein. Save the other two as it comes in a 3pc. Only done this once.

I can't deal with this stall anymore

Dr. E gave me a 50 bougie size (down from the 60 he uses for DS) I'm hoping that doesn't contribute to poorer results. He said he doesn't believe in the long term safety of smaller diameters. He also says many who use smaller sizes (he's seen their videos) don't staple tight to the bougie. He says he staples very tight. So it may be a wash anyway. What size did he give you?

Thanks all. I know this stuff but somehow I needed to hear it again.

Why water is the key to fat metabolism

Powerade Zero is good and has electrolytes. Crystal Light Pure (with stevia) is good for bottled water but has 15 calories per serving.

I can't deal with this stall anymore

Yes my close fit better than in the fall but the same as they did a Christmas. I know I can't give up but that's just how this stall is making me feel.

    All of my December sleevers...

I spoke too soon, bounced back up a little the next day, remain frustratingly stalled. Gout has hit me hard today and I can't walk without crutches and I can't take my indocin NSAID. Super depressed, discouraged, and in excruciating pain.
  22. Getting off the narcotics helped, then getting past liquid phase and eating Greek yogurt and probiotic powder fixed it for me. I had that really bad for a couple weeks!

    All of my December sleevers...

My understanding is this is so common at this stage and patience is the only cure that consistently works. Don't let that stop you from trying to shake things up with more exercise or eating a little differently. Make sure your fluids and protein intake are adequate is advice I read often regarding the dreaded week 3 stall. I understood it happens to many (most?) but I still questioned everyday if I was doing something wrong or wondered if I was broken. I am now optimistic that I broke through but I'm worried the 2 pound loss today is a statistical anomaly from not eating or drinking enough yesterday, etc. I'm trying hard to keep my head on straight and wait it out.

Checking back in. Surgery day weight (12/13) 367, today 345. Down 22 since surgery, down 51 overall. I had been in a stall at 347 for all of 2013 but looks like it broke overnight as I lost 2 more finally. I am eating soft foods now. Tilapia loin was delicious and all protein! Deli meats and cheeses are so good after eating liquid and purée for the last month.

Start Weight in August 2012: 396 Surgery Morning Weight 12/13/2012: 367 Current Weight: 347 I am one pound shy from a 50# total loss, but that is only the first 25% towards my goal. The easiest 25%, I assume. I took a week post op to lose the hospital weight, which was about 8 pounds. Things moved shockingly fast the next two weeks as I struggled to get any nourishment. I am still struggling to get enough Water and Protein daily.
