    Should I have to

OMGoodness no!!! You (and others like you) are the inspiration that helped me get the band and the inspiration that helps me push myself everyday to eat within the diet and exercise. I truly hope this has not be suggested. Rain

Shopping for clothes is getting fun...

Cerrin, The wardrobe is worse once you are banded...Well, for me anyway...I am just not excited by buying a ton of clothing that won't fit in a few weeks. LITERALLY, I just bought a pair of jeans..they were too tight so I didn't wear them for two weeks...then i wore them...it's been 3 weeks, and they fell off of me today. I know, we should all have such problems, right??? I am still wearing my 28 shirts...even though I am a 22...they look awful, but I don't want to spend money on clothing that will be disposed of so quickly. Lorraine
  4. Ok...on the topic of Chocolat.... Never ever EVER had better sex than after watching that movie!!! GOOD TIMES! Rain

Do you think it's rude to correct another's grammar?

the spitting cum comment has me laughing my butt off....so something I would do.. Thanks for the laugh, Wheetsin. Rain

    Dr.Abkin/Dr.Bertha

Hi ladies, My husband and I were banded by Dr. Abkin (dh in April, me in July)...We really like him and are happy with our decision to use that practice. There are a number of other ALS patients here. I just met Dr. Bertha at my fill on Thursday...he is not quite as personable as Abkin, but was friendly and answered all of my questions...so no complaints about him either! Best of luck to you both...this is the most amazing journey so far...I'm loving being banded... Rain

Shopping for clothes is getting fun...

Ang1982... It was me who mentioned LG and their glittery shirts. I'm so glad I'm not the only person. My tastes are very plain...certainly not glitter and sequens (how the heck is that spelled?). I also don't want buttons on the neck that have no purpose...little ties at the neck (I'm a woman...not a child) or anything else.... I'm glad I'm not the only one! Rain
  8. Oh Cerrin, I cannot even begin to imagine an F...I was a DD while nursing my girls and HOLY SMOKES...that's a lot of boob! But now the poor little dears are sad and pathetic and tickling my navel. My hardest thing is the lack of fullness on the top compared with the bottom. They're soooo sad....poor little girls. April, I've been cutting out as many carbs as humanly possible. It's actually been easier than I thought and I'm dropping weight pretty quickly. Best of luck to you! Rainer

Do you think it's rude to correct another's grammar?

Wheetsin, I cannot do that at all, even if I do it slowly...I am a mind teasing failure! However...I don't know how people write their posts with capitol in front of each letter...It Would Drive Me Nuts!!! Too Much Thinking. It Must Take Them Forever! Rain
  11. I swear often and proudly...how's that for ladylike? Also, I tend to say "good times" sarcastically when things are crazy... I HATE the mis-use of the word disrespect as in...He's disrespecting me..... Oh...skin crawling!!! Rain

Do you think it's rude to correct another's grammar?

I was an English teacher prior to the birth of my first child...Now, I tutor students weekly... That being said, it is RUDE to correct another adult's grammar or pronounciation unless it is asked of you. I used to have a hard time switching off my teacher mode when I would get home from work...but it's just not a nice thing to do and it hurts people (again, unless they have specifically asked you to help them). As for the written word....in a forum like this, who cares how you write? I can't be bothered worrying about it. On the other hand, I sometimes want to kill myself when I am reading posts that are littered with grammatical and spelling issues. But, I am certainly not going to point it out to them. Just my two cents...might not even be worth that! Rain
  13. Let me start by saying that I LOVE THEM...I think it is a terrific group of people, the surgeon I used was phenomenal and both my husband and I have had good success thus far. Well, we both had fills on thursday and Squale (dh) called them today to ask for suggestions because my weight has actually gone up since the fill (???) and we are both getting the stabbing pain in the throat at almost every meal.. Well, it seems I might be in starvation mode, because of the stabbing pain, I am not eating enough calories so my body won't let them go...ok...Add another Protein shake etc... But what really bugs me is that every time Squale has called, they make it a point to tell him that they don't expect much more from the band...that for both of us, it has already surpassed their expectations... Well, that's all well and good, but that doesn't mean we should be left without hope. It's almost like, you've lost 80 lbs you big fat f*ck...what more do you want??? Ummmmm...90 more please! I know they don't mean to be doing this, but it is just so flipping frustrating. Why can't they just accept that even if the band has done everything it can, that we will still need support and info as we go through the rest of our weight loss journey. Uggh... Thanks for letting me vent! Rain

A quick complaint about my surgeon's office...

By stabbing pain, I mean that getting stuck feeling...I guess I didn't put it in the correct words... I don't think it's reflux...I think I'm eating too fast...when I slow down and chew like a maniac, I feel better. Rain
  15. Hello all, I'm 2 months post op...And DESPERATELY awaiting my first fill on OCt. 11th. .. Anyway, since I've been banded things have been much slower...Meaning, I am not going to the bathroom frequently... I've tried raising my dietary Fiber by eating some more veggies and some popcorn. I've added a little fat to my diet hoping it will help things along.:embarassed: Not so much... Any ideas folks??? Gracias! Rain

Shopping for clothes is getting fun...

Wheetsin, We were in NYC this weekend and our parking garage was DIRECTLY across from a tall woman's shoe store... I went into the store and tried on one pair of shoes and BOUGHT THEM!!! Oh my goodness, that never ever ever happens. PURE heaven! The thing I hate about the avenue and Lane Bryant in general are the silly styles they show for people "of size".. Really, what fat lady needs to wear so much glitter etc...on their clothing...Everything has got some sort of junk on it...or crazy pattern....I just so don't like it! Lorraine

Shopping for clothes is getting fun...

Laura, I'm slimmer hipped and butted as well...Which I must say, I'm grateful for. I never liked Lane Bryant either (or Avenue or Ashley Stuart) because they had enormous butts....That's why these new jeans are so phenomenal!!! LOVE them! The alloy brand...do their shirts run long in the sleeves??? Thanks! Rain

Shopping for clothes is getting fun...

Isn't that funny, I have always found Old Navy to run small...When I lost weight in the past, I was wearing a 16 and I couldn't get my big toukus into an 18.... However, I cannot say that shopping will ever be fun for me...I am a 6ft. giant and not even shoe shopping is fun (12-13wide)... but I do enjoy looking a HELL of a lot better in my clothing... Also, has anyone tried the Lane Bryant new Jeans sizing system??? It is wonderful. The allow you to chose between three body types..slim butt and thighs, moderately curvy butt and thighs and very curvy butt and thighs...and then you chose the style of jeans you want (flare or bootcut) out of that... Just thought I would share! Especially since they have talls, petites and go from a 14-28... Rain
  19. My husband and I are both banded and have piles of beautiful clothing that no longer fit. What do you all do with your too large clothing??? Thanks! Rain

    I'm Obese-- And Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow!!! What terrific news!!! I LOVED dropping that morbidly from in front of my BMI...It ROCKED!!! Welcome to the journey towards FAT! Many many congrats! Rain
  21. Since starting to lose, I have felt various body aches that I am not used to feeling. I have an ache in my arm, and some residual leg pain... Is it normal to feel different aches and pains that you're not used to feeling??? Do you think this has something to do with less padding??? Thanks, Rain

    Port pains and sex.

I get a twinge every now and then in that position (also a fav ) But, if it is more than twinge, I would ask the dr. If it makes you feel any better, I hve to ask my obgyn about this uncomdfortable pain in my lower abdomen during an O...woohoo! Rain

    Need help... daughter 16 & 300lbs

It has got to be a terribly hard decision...my only thought (to play devil's advocate) is that in one of your posts you mentioned that you just told her about it a few days ago and a day later she wanted the surgery. As you are aware, it is a major surgery and not something to be jumped in to lightly. I'd like my child (and my husband, when he was banded complied with this as well) to research every avenue and aspect prior to jumping into a surgical decision. I don't think there are many of us on this board who decided overnight to be banded. Just my two cents...I wish you and your daughter much luck as you go through this process. Rain
  24. Yes...considerable increase...I love it! What am I doing about it??? Poor dh...he's exhausted!!! Rain

    Best thing about being slim?

Oh there are so many things... 1. Crossing my legs like a woman instead of like a man 2. fitting into clothing in regular stores 3. not feeling like the big fat elephant in every social situation... So many more... Rain
