Congrats on being fat!!! Way to go!!! Rain

Literally... very comfortable and lightweight and gave me a butt... They are called Not your daughters jeans. I got the Tummy Tuck style and they are amazing. They are made for women who have curves, not their stick figure counterparts. Since I've had three kids, and have lost almost 80lbs, I have a ridiculous amount of extra skin...it's so nasty. Well, these come higher (AMEN) and are comfy and don't look like mom jeans. And my butt....oh my God...my butt...it is great. Well, the jeans are...not my butt... oh, and they are an 18...from a 28...Gracious me! Go buy these jeans.....(Nordstroms and Bloomies among other places...) ETA: I am tall...but not a giant...my mother in law took these from a seated position...and I wish I could get rid of my gut...I look like a male beer drinker...thanks, twins! Rain light jeans are my regular lane bryants....dark are my new NYDJ jeans

I had to go to the eye drs. to have my glasses tightened. COOL! Rain

I just bought the BEST jeans!!! EVER!!!

I worried about that as well...but after wearing them today I can honestly say that they felt fine...I had that trouble with other jeans that I owned prior to these. They are a thin material...so I think that helps!!! I think you could buy them from Nordstroms and keep the tags on and then be able to return them after wearing them around the house for a while to see if they bug your port... Best of luck! Rain -

Paulex...They are just at the cusp...I think...they are 33inches long...I am between a 33 and 34...I have a long torso...and long legs...I've always felt that was frustrating...but perhaps it is better in the long run. Losingjusme! Hello friend. I owe you a pm...sorry. They are snug, but more comfy than regular jeans...partly because there is no bulge of fat over the top...Ahhh...the lack of muffin top! Thanks for your compliments girls...I feel way better in these than I look...but I put them up against my side shot from the day of surgery...and I look darn good...for me...I can't wait to lose my gut...It's so like a man's... Rain -

I'd say that's a good plan. I got an 18W...I fit into the 18, but there was slightly more room in the 18W's thigh... I think I'm more of a 20...so I would order down a size... Good luck! Rain -

Oh, I'm glad I'm not the only one breaking the bank for a pair of jeans... I was a little less than thrilled when I saw the price...but God...they are so comfortable...and my butt....have I mentioned that yet??? What I love is that there is no muffin top...thank goodness. Rain -

Do you ever feel the need to explain?
blahblahblah replied to chichi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree...I have this same feeling and sometimes I share it, but other times I keep it to myself. You don't need to justify yourself...you are doing the work with the aide of the band.... Good luck for continued success! Rain -
Congratulations...I cannot WAIT to see those 180s...that's my first goal...the first time since I don't ever remember when that I will be at a healthy BMI... Good luck to you and dance your butt off!!! Rain

Think back to a time when you would have comforted yourself with food...and you would not have had a story to share about it... Just bigger hips!!! Thanks for sharing...that was funny! Rain

My rings are getting way too big. I have my wedding and engagement bands, but also an antique ring that was my great great aunt's, my mother's after her, and now mine. I am going to have to take it off soon, but I can't decide to have it resized now or wait until later.... What has everyone else done? Thanks!!! I love these decisions! Rain

My mother was a cafeteria worker for many years. She was actually an LPN, but my father lost his job and she needed something with great benefits... So,, she worked in our high school cafe...until the nurse left and then she bacame the school nurse. Which was fine except for the kids who would go to her and say things like...didn't you used to feed us last year? But...she actually loved working in the cafe...minus the perpetually wet shoes and the uniform (brown and gold polyesther...seems like a cruel joke). Rain

I love teenage boys. Prior to becoming a stay at home mom, I was an English teacher... I loved all of my students, but teenage boys are the best!!! What do you do at the school? I've often thought of going back to school and learning sign (took one class and really enjoyed it) so I could be a personal aide or interpreter for a student...or, an English teacher at a deaf school. Well, I've thought about that, nursing, and sonography. And Juli...many congrats...your weight loss is amazing! Rain

Spent the night in the hospital...(not band related)
blahblahblah posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello all, Just wanted to share my scary weekend... On Friday night (3am...Saturday morning), my 3 year old awoke...I took her back to bed and turned to look at the time on the thermastat across from her room. Everything went black and I fell into the bathroom hitting my head on the sink and the tub and towel rack before finally hitting the ground. Unfortunately, my three year old saw the entire thing. She was so scared. Well, my husband came into the room and helped me sit up after I regained consciousness. I felt really really off and he got my little girl back into bed and then came and helped me stand up. I got up and passed right back out..Thankfully, that time he held me until I got to the ground...in the nice soft carpeted hallway. I've never passed out, and I felt really funky, so we decided to call 911. Dh's mother had her own medical emergency last month and is living with us...so dh got her to come and take care of Julia while the ems squad came and got me. It was not fun...I was so afraid that I was going to be the enrmous fat woman they'd have to call extra people for...but two-three people were able to carry me out (on the stinking backboard with my head immobilized due to the crazy fall). It was scary as hell and all I can say is thanks for my bnd...because at 338, I don't think it would have gone as smoothly as it did. Anyway...it turns out my heart was in atrial fibrillation. My heart rate was in the 180s and it stayed there until they gave me some meds at the hospital that brought it down to the 130-150 range. After an hour or so, they gave me another med and I finally converted back into a normal heart rhythm. They were concerned that since I've lost so much weight so quickly (75 in 4 months), that maybe I was lacking in minerals or Vitamins causing the a-fib...but after doing bloodwork, everything is in check and it had nothing to do with my weight loss. Nor did it have to do with lyme disease, thyroid, cholesterol or heart disease. My heart looks healthy and everything looks fine. The cariologist said I may just be one of those people whose heart is succeptible (spelling...sorry) to a-fibb rhythms...it's odd though, because it's generally something that hits the over 70 population...not a 31 year old. So, I stayed over night on a telemetry monitor and everything looks fine...I was sent home with a beta blocker, baby asprin and some serious pain from the fall. I had a CT scan, and everything looks fine in my head...but it feels AWFUL...I'm wondering if I broke my nose because it is slightly swollen and very tender. Literally, my head feels like David Beckham warmed up for a game with it. OUCH! Oh, and my arm and leg are less than happy as well. Oh well..just thought I would share my adventure. I've always wanted to know what it was like to faint....It's SCARY...oh, and I've always wanted to ride in an ambulance....NOT that exciting....especially while strapped to a hard ass board. *****for those banded folks who want to know...it was amazing to be at the hopital and eat the food they served me and have it be enough...actually, it was too much. I never ordered dessert (although dh did buy Cookies tonight...tomorrow I am heart healthy and banded!!!), I did drink juice but that is because they didn't offer water... It was just crazy that when I was there 2 years ago when I had my twins, I was frustrated (inwardly..would never have said anything to anyone due to embarrassment) that I was still hungry after their three meals (with dessert and appetizer) and two Snacks a day...Now I was unable to finish and was totally content....I love my band!!! Thanks for reading! Rain -

Ok...this post and the thought of you with a turkey popper in your side makes me laugh out loud. Well, my surgeon told me that this would happen, so I knew about it from the beginning...but, as of now it is not too obvious. It is, however, uncomfortable in high waisted pants. Good luck. Rain

blahblahblah posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I thought I was immune to hair loss after never losing any after my pregnancies and not having any loss until NOW...LOTS of har loss...which doesn't but me too much since I have a ton of hair... BUT...I don't want to clog my drain...so...any suggestions as to what to put in my drains. My one shower has a flat drain and the second has a recessed drain! Thanks in advance! Rain
