    Does eating get easier?

Try one food at a time (like introducing foods to a baby) so you can catch it if your body doesn't react well with it. It's been three months for me and I can just now stomach the chocolate Protein flavors but I still have a hard time with seafood. My favorite side is unsweetened applesauce by treetop. I have just a little bit with my dinner/lunch and I find it so very refreshing. It will get easier

    Driving after surgery

I had to be off pain meds. The only problem I had was the way I sat in the car lodged the gas from surgery straight into my shoulder and it hurt oh so much :-( But it did pass after a week.

    Laughing cow ligh wedges

That cheese is super soft! I also had the light mini babybel cheeses and I often eat the low fat sargento colby jack cheesesticks.

    Coffee.....even decaf

I went to decaf but I still have 1-2 cups every day. I would hate to miss my coffee! I hope you can handle it sooner than later!!
  6. Try a warm heating pad and some peppermint tea. It took me 3 weeks to reabsorb the gas pain in my shoulder. The shoulder pain is often from surgery, not the burping kind of gas.
  7. I haven't thrown up yet which is a good thing b/c I would probably never eat LOL

    Turkey patties?

I had turkey burger/patty 3 weeks out as long as I chewed it well.

    Pregnancy and the sleeve

    No idea but good luck!
  10. I had a hard time with protein for a while. My goal was to stay hydrated and then go from there. I could not stomach anything chocolate so premier protein (a whole box of them) was going to waste. I found that I could mix 1 oz Premier with 1 oz 1% milk and I was able to digest it better. So I started doing that for a while. I still can't tolerate the chocolate ones but I can handle the vanilla ones.

    Problems drinking water...

Maybe it's your stomach gearing up and then settling back down. Some days I can't handle propel Water at all and other days I can drink 4 of them.
  12. I take those mylanta gas chews and it seems to help me
  13. Happened to me twice and only thing I could figure was I had snack too close to bed. Now I make sure to give myself a few hours before last snack and bed. It was nasty and I felt like I was choking.

    Problems drinking water...

Some drinks make me feel immediately sick. I tend to drink herbal tea alot because I can handle warm. I can no longer handle cold which is surprising because that was the only way I could handle it before.
  15. I bought a protein powder sampler from mybariatricpantry.com. Some of the shakes were like drinking dessert! They have puddings, sweet drinks, coffees/cappuccinos, oatmeal .... I haven't ordered them yet but I'm betting it's ok!
  16. I started counting my water intake and my protein as soon as I got home. A few weeks ago I joined myfitnesspal to better track and then realized I wasn't getting in nearly as much protein as I thought!
  17. Seems like the topic was covered quite well. It does take quite an adjustment to the not drinking rule. Really, though, your stomach just isn't big enough to hold food and drink together which can make you sick. Plus, it will wash the few nutrients we get away especially if you are taking your vitamins/calcium with your meals. We don't malabsorb like the bypass but we certainly don't get enough food in to get our nutrients strictly from that. Good luck!
  18. My nurse recommended I take the pain medicine for a while to relax me so I can heal. Some people don't want to be on it but I took it to sleep for a few nights at home. If it helped your lowgrade fever that's awesome. You are very in tune to your body right now which is great even if it sends us into a tailspin. The noises and sensations should be better in time but just keep an eye on it and don't hesitate to call if you are ever worried.
  19. I've noticed that most of the posts about stalls are geared towards the beginning so I think it's more of people being new to the sleeve, not knowing what to expect, and turning here for answers. You summed it up quite well ... it's a journey and we will all get there one way or another. Some faster, some slower. The sleeve is not the cure, just a start. We only get a good restart once so we must make the most of it!
  20. I am on prilosec for a year post surgery even though I have no signs of acid reflux before or after. It's geared towards helping your stomach heal because the sleeve is notorious for reflux.
  21. I tend to lose more weight when I up my calories rather than reduce them. I would say I average 650 to 900 a day. Although there are days when I'm not very hungry I do have these days where I feel the need to eat. I end up in the 900 range of calories but then I suddenly drop a few pounds. I guess it's my body's way of compensating.
  22. It's normal It will move again because it has to move again. It's just not possible for it not to move! Hang in there!
  23. I include my preop diet so really it's only 41 pounds via surgery
  24. Down 51 pounds today, yay. Sleeved 4/16

    Tips for a Spouse

Just being there, letting her sleep, going on walks with her, not letting her overdo it. No bending for a while so any kind of help with cleaning and laundry goes a long way. She's very lucky Best of luck! (Staying hydrated is key. Water first then Protein. Don't freak out if she can't get a lot of protein in at first. It will come with time)
