SLOW WEIGHT LOSS WHAT AM I DOING WRONG
ChristineR replied to Cari hernandez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chances are the first 2 weeks you held onto water retention from surgery and then your body stalled. Track everything you eat and drink. At 3 weeks it won't be much. You should just be coming off a liquid stage anyways. -
Way to go!

How does everyone get enough protein in w/o shakes?
ChristineR replied to tampa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If I don't do a shake I do a protein bar. It's usually 1 of the 2 to get it in. -
Nothing fatty or fried for me. Only took one lesson to teach me the hard way. I never did throw up but I walked around holding it back for 2 hours. Ugh it was awful. Can have a bite or two of sweets but not a lot. No bread or I am in pain. No seafood anymore as it tastes downright awful to me now. Lettuce ....... I may as well eat it while sitting on the toilet. But, if you look at what I listed, it's nothing to be overly upset about. It's things I shouldn't be eating (minus the seafood) anyways.

*Hugs*. Yes. It does get better.

How Many Calories Are You Eating?
ChristineR replied to TamaraS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know my calories in the liquid phase but in the soft food/mushy phase I averaged 600-900 calories a day. I'm on all solids now (almost 6 months out) and it's become easy to eat too many calories if it's not the right food. I try to stay in the 1000-1200 range, 70-90 g of carbs a day although I could bump it to 120, and 80-100 g of Protein. I lost weight faster with more calorie intake. The low carb isn't hard for me because I don't feel good with bread, etc. I stalled once for 2 weeks when I started heavy exercise. When I went back down to moderate exercise the weight came off again. I figure it was a calorie deficit and I couldn't keep up at the time. The weight will come off, it has to. Your body has to recalculate and figure out what is going on. Hang in there! -
Any APRIL SLEEVERS? Let me know your progress !
ChristineR replied to beachblondeee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Update; Sleeved 4/16 and down 81.5 pounds. No idea if this is average, slow or fast but I'm completely content. I've noticed I'm hungrier than before and I can eat upwards of 5 oz at a time now depending on the kind of protein. Sometimes I can only eat 3 oz. So I try to have more filling meals and less snacks. -
Oh excuse me i didnt know the food police worked here!

My hubs is always eye balling my food, pre and post surgery, LOL. I'm always telling him to back off. -
Craving Sugar..WTF!?
ChristineR replied to Mighty Mo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No worries. I do get shaky at times and I eat or drink and it goes away. I average about 1000-1200 calories a day. -

I didn't say I was indulging in the sugar but I have been craving it lately I eat 80-100 g of protein a day. -
How much lean protein can you eat at one sitting?
ChristineR replied to ctsleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds about right. I am 5.5 months out and I can eat 5 oz. Depending on what is though .... some things I can only eat 3, some 5. -
I'm sorry but I'm just not 'wait 30 minutes to drink after eating' guy.
ChristineR replied to endless80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Coffee .... yes, my one cup of coffee and sugar free creamer is my treat. Some days I'm slightly annoyed waiting 30 minutes but the routine is more normal for me now so it's getting easier. I have also sipped a bit if something was too spicy/hot but I try not to if I can help it. -
Craving Sugar..WTF!?
ChristineR replied to Mighty Mo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. I have been craving sugar. I've also started to get the shakes and feel physically ill if I'm hungry. I don't know if they are connected or not. -
I have a fitbit (got it last week) but haven't added friends. My email is renwick.christine@gmail.com.

Look up emilybites.com and go to her cupcake/muffin area and most everything is used with wonton wrappers. I love using them!

Sleeved 4/16 Started @ 278 Currently @ 203 I'm on the verge of comfortably fitting into a size 16 (not even a 16W). It's a very strange thing to see as I can't remember the last time I wore some of these pants. That means shopping soon! No big problems yet. Just have days where I get super dizzy when I stand up. Started about 2 weeks ago. -
Low insulin causing fainting
ChristineR replied to CWAM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's exactly what happens to me every time I stand up and sometimes when I get out of the car (only if I'm not driving). It's an awful feeling! -
Don't you love when that happens! Congrats!

Most people have had a sleep study. They have to make sure there are no hidden sleep disorders so the oxygen during surgery doesn't hurt you while you are under. I thought it was awful and it actually hurt my scalp. But I did sleep some. It said I woke over 200 times .... yeah, I know! LOL

Mine isn't as bad as I thought it would be. -
You can take all the pills in the world and it won't stop the hair loss. It might help minimize it some but it will fall out. I did the same as heatwhip and cut it off LOL It was easier getting nasty clumps of shorter hair than longer hair. I'm almost 5 months out and been losing it for 2 months now. Plus, every morning my scalp hurts. It feels like it's been in a tight pony tail all night.

Dehydration. I now have one cup of regular coffee every morning. Better than the whole pot I would consume a day hehe
