    Soup?

I was allowed lowfat cream of chicken soup with protein powder (strained of course). Oh it was heavenly during that time!

    Capacity and healing

When your stomach is so swollen after the surgery it's hard to get anything in there which is why the all liquid diet is a great/safe way to start. As the healing continues, the swelling goes down and then you will be able to hold 2-4 oz and move on to pureed/mooshy food
  3. I have a husband that doesn't cook and 3 kids that have hollow legs. Although the snacking has gone down tremendously they never let me forget LOL But, I completely understand what you are saying. This post made me smile
  4. I was sleeved on 4/16 With preop diet (4/6) I'm down 37 pounds. I feel great though and hoping it will keep falling off!
  5. Yeah, I am. I can't have hard food yet or raw vegetables/fruit. So anything I can chew, chew, chew. I didn't have to go pureed, just soft which the turkey sausage is.

    Post op pain

Have they given you any antinausea pills and pain meds? You don't want to be throwing up at all. Stay hydrated first and then work on the protein. Small sips at a time.

    Disolvable sutures...

Apparently the sutures can try to wiggle out on their own. Who knew?! I only had one with this hard little thing poking out (fishing line sums it up nicely!) a bit but it seems to be gone now.
  8. Last night I had one egg and one lowfat turkey sausage and it was 3.3 oz. It looked like A LOT of food though (maybe because I eat it on a small plate).I could only eat half of the sausage but my husband started harping that it looked like way too much food and to be careful, blah blah blah. So, not sure if I'm doing something wrong either. I measure every portion and stop as soon as I'm full. I have yet to go over 4 oz and if it's heavier food I often get full at 2-2.5 oz. But his comments make me wonder if I did it wrong.
  9. 1.5 years is what I was told

    Officially...

    Congratulations!
  11. My doctor said sometimes people go through depression after surgery. I would talk to your doctor first (if sleeved locally) and see where to start. It's a good start that you are realizing it!

    10 day post-op cheating :-(

You are supermom to have done the sleeve while nursing! But, that being said, lots of women get pregnant after they are sleeved so it's not impossible, just very soon after while you are still healing. I found the liquid stage easy on not being hungry but hard on trying to balance the Protein intake and Water with the 15-20-30 rule. I felt like I was watching the clock ALL day long. Best of luck!

    Ugh! Weight gain!

Are you getting enough water in and could any of it be swelling?
  14. I would check with docs office to make sure those meds are ok. We can no longer take certain things.
  15. Protein shakes are very important to help you heal
  16. I got clearance for powerwalking at 4 weeks. Still light lifting for 2 weeks after
  17. That much protein already is awesome! You'll get there in due time

    mad... a little :(

17 pounds a month is amazing!! Your body is probably just recalibrating. You can still lose inches/gain muscle without the weight changing. It will keep going. If this is your first stall you are incredibly lucky. I stalled at 3 weeks post surgery but it eventually caught back up.
  19. I have citrus flavor chewables from Bariatric Support. I have to cut them in half and take one half 3x a day.

    I want junk food :(

If you aren't ready to face the food then would it be possible to stay home? I hate to be a negative nancy but if it's a trigger then take care of yourself first. I had my friends bake the cookies for the teachers and I skipped some pot luck lunches at my husbands work. I just wasn't ready.

    AnyonE NEVER LOSE WEIGHT?

three week mark was my first stall ... lasted about a week. It will come back off though :-)
  22. I got the go ahead to swim at 4 weeks
  23. *Hugs* Preop diet was very hard on me and I doubted myself the whole time (not the same as the weight loss prior but it's a diet change none-the-less). But, to answer your question, no I'm not failing after surgery. It's so much easier than I ever thought it would be. Yes, the liquid phase has it's moments but now when I eat and I actually feel full .. to get those compliments that you are doing a great job... it's a great feeling! I can only really suggest a support group and a strong support system. Does your city offer any for WLS? Did they give you advice on how to lose the 19 pounds? I was given a strict diet regimen to follow. Best of luck! These days will come and go and it's ok to question things. **the weight loss prior to surgery is more about shrinking the liver. The weightloss to lower the BMI is because they surgery could have risks and they want the best possible outcome.
  24. Be careful! Don't be afraid to call your doctor either. I'm glad you are feeling better! I was told by my NUT that one day I will tolerate it and the next day my body will say no more. If you can't tolerate anything aim for liquid to stay hydrated . ... maybe try warm herbal tea?
  25. if the prilosec is too hard to swallow ask for a different pill. I had the same complaint and it's slowly gotten easier. I'm on prilosec for one year after surgery. The sleeve is notorious for heartburn and, like others said, we don't want to damage our little pouch with an overabundance of acid. (At least that's my understanding of it)
