I had my surgery Dec. 27, 2012... Roughly 9 weeks post op..that's it?! As I write that it just hit me it hasn't been that long ago! I have lost close to 50lbs! I don't notice it unless I weigh myself or my pants slide off..I've always hid in largely closes so baggy clothes don't bother me ????. I've had to get rid of some clothes which was hard! Idk why but I was holding on to them like a crutch! Anyway, we have an event tomorrow....husband asks what are you going to wear...my reply was I haven't any idea-I'll figure something out. He needed to get pants so we went to the Gap...he pointed a dress and told me to try it on.. Reluctantly, I did...and boy am I happy I did!!! It fits and I will be wearing it tomorrow stripes and all!!! (Stripes have never been my friend! Until now ????) I am in no way strictly able to shop at Gap..still get clothes at LB, AS, Avenue..but I can now entertain the possibility of shopping and getting some stuff there!! Just wanted to share!

It's pretty much every time I eat.. Even as simple as mashed potatoes....will log my reactions to food..I had one meal that I felt ok with yesterday! One In the last 4 weeks.. It was chilli I thought weird but ok?! -
Ok so I'm not losing anything but then again I'm exhausted and apparently not eating enough...but I can't even tolerate eating other foods...I'm whiney! Sorry! I just looked at another menu sample and nearly croaked! An egg AND a sausage patty..I barely finished the egg! I feel like I am such a failure already! I was told to try soups which my stomach can tolerate then upgraded and take 5 steps back! Can you possibly not lose wt? Cause this is how I'm feeling! Ok sorry that was a little whiney..

Lots of pain almost 1 month post-op HELP
kikitrixie replied to Samantha227's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had revision. I have pain by where the port was if I move arm back while laying down, picking up some stuff...it helped at times if I put a pillow on opp side under stomach. But I'd get that checked my pain got better then I over did it and it began again so I'm thinking for me it's learning my limits but you sound like you are in constant pain -
Hi everyone... Ok so I am 2 weeks out...tried egg salad and it felt like a ton of bricks in my stomach...I haven't seen my scale budge minus the initial loss.. As I sit here writing this I keep scrutinizing myself-have you had all the Protein... My answer is no... I have no appetite..and when I do eat I can barely eat 4 oz of food and it takes me about 1 hour to finish those oz...is this normal??? So the 60 grams of protein is out the door even with shakes it takes me a whole day to have one shake...

2 weeks out..frustrated a tad
kikitrixie replied to kikitrixie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat oikos yogurt.... i love the yogurt.. It takes a while to eat it too.. I think if I am getting 30 g of protein I'm exaggerating :/ -
How soon did you go back to work?
kikitrixie replied to Kennedy310's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was taken out for 4 weeks... From my understanding it all depends on what type of job you have and your healing. I don't have a desk job so I am not able to do my job yet..and I do a lot of driving, stairs, and getting up and down from floor so I def am not ready.. -
All of my December sleevers...

Hi! Sleeved 12/27 and when I went for check up 16 lbs -
Thank goodness I am not alone! Lol ???? I have my post op Friday and need to ask doc what is this all about!
-
OMG it's crazy! I have my slippers, socks, sweats and blankets! My kids are in their pjs and hubs in shorts.. I thought to myself either this is from surgery or in getting sick. Weird! Lol

Hi everyone! I'm new! I was banded back in 09 and saw no results more like issues with it as if I was rejecting it! Anyway I noticed that my vomiting had been increasing and finally went to doc and said I want it out! I don't care how we get it approved but I can't live like this anymore. Idk how we did it but it got approved and the conversion to sleeve! I was so happy! Anyway I went in for surgery 12/27 and it turns out I had hernia along with sever scar tissue due to the band! I knew there was a reason for my throwing up (I kept getting told let's fill, let's not fill for a while nothing worked). I think I am healing nicely.. The only issue is I can't even get 12 oz of liquids in at the current time! How am I greeting 40oz of protein in?! Also that stuff does not leave a great after taste! Any suggestions? Happy New Year!

Finally able to tolerate broth and scale issues
kikitrixie posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok! So it's been 5 days since surgery 12/27..I had only been able to do crystal light, ice pops and water sparingly..today I finally had chicken broth! I will begin adding protein-although whey protein gets me nauseous-someone recommended Soy protein. I finally able to tolerate more oz of liquids at a time. Jell-o was not even going down! Stocked my shelves with oatmeal and yogurt ready for Wednesday. I'm not seeing the scale go down though...however even if I hold a large item it tells me same weight. Go figure! Lol I'm thinking its best to wait for my doc apt for that?! I'm going to go nuts though unless I see that scale move. I keep thinking this WILL work it can't right??? -

I just ordered some soups! I have to add protein somehow! They haven't gotten here yet! I will keep you posted on them! -
Why did you choose the sleeve after the band
kikitrixie replied to Dee-Texas's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I chose the sleeve rather than full gastric bypass, for several reasons...I keep saying well I must need the stomach if it was put there LOL, the full RNY scares me, the NUT said the sleeve I better for those with autoimmune diseases such as hypothyroidism especially with the stuff I have.. Good luck with your decision -
New to community... liquid pre op starts tomorrow
kikitrixie replied to jennybeck's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Jennifer, I just had this done! Will be thinking of you! I personally couldn't wait to get that thing out of my body! So all the thoughts in my head was well at least I will get that done first -
I was banded and I went to doc 3 years later (had no success) and said I WANT IT OUT! He was honest and said you should have never had the band done first of all so I will make a point of that to your insurance. I had spent 3 years throwing up, my health issues increasing-I swear my body was rejecting that thing! The few weeks prior to my band my throwing up was ridiculous! I wouldn't have minded if I'd be losing weight but nothing! Mostly fluid-and pain around my stomach and the port. I went through all the initial testing again. I had an EGD and the doctor was surprised at my tolerance he said you have sever acid reflux-put me on highest dose of meds and here's the kicker-I saw little success! He advocated for me also and put band must be removed! Next thing I knew all was approved! I had the conversion only to find out I had severe scar tissue from band and it had cause hernia and that's why my vomiting had gotten worse! I am so excited to have that thing out! I hope you the best and I hope my story helped
