bee13 reacted to TheCurvyJones for a blog entry, This rain is making me melancholy
Down 14 since day of surgery almost a month ago. Not even 15 lbs yet.
It's coming off. I see the lbs loss and I see some inches. I'm exercising, focusing on protein and liquids. I'm full after mere bites. It's working.
But...
Can I be underwhelmed and happy at the same time?
Meh.
If the first couple of months is the 'best' a person will lose, I fear for what month six will look like. I feel like I am ALREADY working for every pound.... just like normal. I don't mind working for it. I expected the sleeve to help a little more.
It does seem to be picking up, but what happens is... I'll have a drop and then it'll bounce back up for about 5 days. And then drop. And bounce again. Annoying.
I don't want hugs or advice. Don't tell me not to weigh so much. FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE if you tell me 'it doesn't come off like it comes on' I will hunt you down and slap you. That isn't what I'm saying at all... don't reduce my experience to that.
Just...... venting.
And now I'm done. I just had to get that out.

bee13 reacted to princesstia for a blog entry, 3 Weeks Post Op today :)
This has been one hell of a ride. I've been both excited and depressed just the same. I am here to tell you weeks 2 and 3 are literally the hardest. At this point your tired of liquids, see a few stalls, and have all these thoughts that maybe, just maybe, this surgery isn't gonna work for you. And I'm telling you, I have felt all these things. On the plus side I did weigh in this morning and hit my one month post op goal 10days early!!! Yay for me!... Here are my stats:
Starting weight: 256lbs
Day of Surgery: 247lbs
Day I left from Hospital: 258lbs
3 weeks post op: 230.2lbs
I honestly didn't plan on seeing that weight until one month post op.. But 26 pounds down in the first 3 weeks with a stall in between.. I won't complain. Hope everyone is doing well as they recover, and for those considering the surgery: do your research! Know what to expect, and come to a point in your journey where you are ready for the rollercoaster because it is one hell of a ride!!!!!

bee13 reacted to joatsaint for a blog entry, Post-Op 14 Days - Puree Diet
Just got back from my 2 week checkup. Down 21 lbs from my pre-surgery start weight. Doc put me on the puree diet and told me to walk at least 1 hr a day 4 - 5 times a week. That's going to be difficult because of all the rain coming up for the next week.
I'm doing pretty well with cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soup and peanut butter. But I've tested a tiny bite of chicken, hamburger and Vienna sausages, seems like anything along those lines is still too tough for my stomach. Almost immediately I can feel rolling gas bubbles in my stomach and I have to burp.
Found some great food storage containers at Wal-Mart. They seem to be the perfect size for how much I can eat at one sitting.
