I am 3-1/2 wks. Post-Op and checked in with my Dr. Today regarding heartburn and acid reflux, she prescribed 40 Mg. of Prilosec and 1 Zantac 150 mg mid-day....She did say that I will need to add the chewable Calcium as the Prilosec is a protein pump inhibitor that somehow destroys/cancels the Calcium in the body...Hope this helps and good luck...

16 days Post-Op & incision is open
jrw2scw replied to Fat2PHAT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3-1/2 wks Post- Op and have the very same issue..Please see my question i sent to my Bariatric Dr. and his response in an email note this last week... 1. One of the sites was where the Gall Bladder was removed, was wondering if this was Normal? The two sites I am questioning have very little drainage thus far I am keeping the sites clean and dry... His answer: . It is normal to have some leakage out of the sites. Sometimes a pocket of Fluid collects under the incision called a Seroma. The drainage would be a greasy yellowish/orangish/bloody tinge to it and be oily. Just with clean hands express around the incision site and try to get it out squeeze out. Of course if it turns green and stinky puss, that's another story, it should be looked at. -

I chose Dr. Almanza@ Jeruselam Hospital in Tijuana, the price was 4750.00 and I wanted Gall Bladder removed at same time for an additional 800.00..I was very pleased with Facility, the staff and the added stay at Ticuan Hotel where I recovered 2 additional Nights and got to stay with wife and what was neat there was Nurse 24-7@ Hotel that tended to us...Good Luck

Just removed some of my stitches on my incision sites and had problem with two of the wound sites opening up, no blood just made me a little whoozie to say the least..We cleaned the wound, used hydrogen peroxide, no bubbles/issues. We then used steri strips to close with no issues...Question: Has anyone ever had this issue, please advise...

jrw2scw replied to toodabarn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am one week out from being sleeved and found benefit with using a small straw and taking in small amounts of Propel water and warm Lipton Tea to provide me relief from that pain and stomach gurgling issue. good Luck!! -
I found that by using a very small straw to be a huge benefit when trying to drink "propel" water works best.. I was sleeved 7 days ago and am doing well with getting fluids after going to the Straw...I also find warm Tea to be refreshing as well...Good Luck!!

Our Group of 5 has made it, we all will be enjoying a new lighter lifestyle soon...We were all given a clean bill of Health with none of us having any leakage into the abdominal Cavity as they do an X-ray using contrast to verify 0 leakage..... Dr. Almanza and Bettencourt are great, we were made to feel very safe and all the folks were very knowledgeable.and professional..I am down 18 lbs "living the dream"..Take Care -
I was told by my Dr. Almanza To stop taking everything including Blood thinners, I'm confused as there are so many different Pre-op diets being given.. good luck!!! Not sure what the B vitamins will provide You?????
