March 20th sleevers
AndreB2S replied to Nicole 2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey 3/20'ers, So I'n now at the end of week 1 (of 2 weeks of purees). I purchased a block of Very Firm tofu, sliced it into 6 slices, marinated it in a combination of BBQ, L/S Soy Sauce and a bit of Wing hot sauce. I let it marinade overnight, put a piece in the pan wit a bit of Pam - 3 mins per side or so - and I love it! Anyone else had experience with Tofu - recipes, preparations an such? - Andr is anyone using MyFitnesPal to track food intake? -
March 20th sleevers

So this morning with my 2 lightly-scrambled eggs, I put a tiny bit of buffalo wing sauce on the plate and just barelt touched my for tines to it before picking up some eggs. After 4+ weeks of protein shakes, having a little flavor/a little spice feels so good. My stomach didn't seem to mind either. Do you think that it's alright (11d post-op)? -

Today is the day that I start up on Purees! Taking is sloooow, with 2 very soft scrambled eggs for mini-meal 1 (chewed it a lot too). They went down slow and smooth, but I finished them all. I'm still trying to get an understanding of what "full" or "satisfied" feels like. What are the other March 20th-ers doing for pured food and mini-meals? -

I'm getting down about 2 protein shakes, and slowly sipping diet iced tea and water. I do still get spasms every now and then - especially if I drink something too cold. Warm chicken soup feels good though! -
I was band to VSG on 3/20 also in NYC. I came home yesterday, and the only "pain" problem i"ve had is the gas. I had a bowel movement this AM which I'm hoping will help. But I can say that I have been feeling better as each day goes by. The common theme seems to be quick recovery once the surgery is done, so hand in there!!!

Surgery - What to expect? :/ TMI!
AndreB2S replied to HOLLAND's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 days post op (band removal to VSG) and I was up and walking around the recovery ward in 2 hours. I had zero incision pain - my biggest problem is with gas, radiating through my back. It is getting better each day, and this morning I had a (sorta) bowel movement. I freaked myself out last night that i had a fever - I can be a bit of a hypochondriac - but I'm doing fine. Walk, walk, walk is my one suggestion. I came out feeling good - way better than when I had the band done. Follow the rules that the Dr sets out for you and you'll be fine -

Hi - Dr. Bessler is doing my band to sleeve revision on March 20. Another Doctor in the practice did my band 6y ago. I like him and e seems to be wel respected -
Got my date today (march 20), and I'm starting liquids tomorrow (3 weeks to make sure). I purchased a meal replacement powder from GNC. My question is is it 3 or 4 shakes a day?

Esophageal dilation with prolapse
AndreB2S replied to Dee-Texas's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a slip a few months a go, and my DR started with emptying the band. 3 months later, the stomach/band prolapse returned to "normal". That said, the band cant take much saline - fearing prolapse again, but i'd start with emptying to see if the problem resolves... then a slow refill... Good luck -
Band 2 Sleeve - Scar Tissue Problems?
AndreB2S posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone - my first post here! I was going to have revision surgery on my band (insurance had approved the revision), but decided that the sleeve was a better move for me for a ton of reasons. So i'm meeting with surgeon, anesthesiologist, PCP, nutritionist and psychologist on Jan. 17 to get all of the needed paperwork started and into my surgeons office so the insurance stuff can begin. My first question is related to scar tissue when removing the band. I've had the band for about 5 years (was successful, but it slipped, so it's now useless) and i'm concerned about the damage when puling the band off. Any experience and feedback would be greatly appreciated. Andre
