Oh no, Diane, that was your mistake, thinking she would be really supportive. You see, this forces her to focus on her weight. You were not even close to her size, yet you "took the easy way out." You didn't have the strength of character to lose weight the "right" way. You were bad, naughty, naughty. Suddenly your M-I-L has to face up to the fact that she's got a serious problem. No one likes having their shortcomings displayed to the world. I'm not saying that this is waht you had in mind when you got your band, but it might be what she is feeling at some level. (my mother's generally a nut job too...) Please don't let anyone berate you again for this, and certianly don't subject yourself to an emotional beating again. You deserve much better. Tell you husband that you want an appology from them. If your husband didn't stop them from calling your names, you want an appology from him too. He should have stepped up to the plate, as it were. I don't know what makes people think they have the right to forgo all sense of manners when they deal with their children or the SO of their child. My mother thinks she has the right to take thinkgs from my hours, like photograps. (my Grandma, her mother, had given me several old family photos. My mother decided that she was going to take them and give them to my more deserving jerk-wad younger brother....) I'm so sorry you are having such troubles with your in-laws. I really am.

Okay, this pisses me off. It should anger anyone who knows a woman

Here's a blog on it... http://dailykos.com/storyonly/2005/9/18/202659/102 Turns out he apperently spent most of his time in ANIMAL HUSBANDRY FDA Rethinks Women's Chief http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/19/AR2005091901576.html One week ago, the Office of Women's Health of the Food and Drug Administration sent an e-mail notice to women's groups and others announcing the appointment of Norris Alderson as its new acting director. An FDA veteran trained in animal husbandry who spent much of his career in the agency's Center for Veterinary Medicine, Alderson quickly became the subject of active and largely negative comment on the Internet and elsewhere. The Office of Women's Health serves as a liaison with women's health groups and as an advocate on women's issues; critics said that a man with a primarily veterinary background could not properly fill the role.... Three days after the Alderson announcement, the FDA main press office sent out a very different announcement. It said that 20-year FDA veteran Theresa A. Toigo would be the new acting director of the women's health office, and that she would be a champion for women's health inside and outside the agency. Alderson -- and the statement announcing his appointment -- was never mentioned. **** Plan B is the emergency contraception pill that real human doctors figure could cut the rate of abortions in this country in half. Very brave of you. You has such strength of character to accept this and to get help for it before it comepletely goes bad. We are very proud of you for getting the help you need. We will be here cheering you on. I don't imagine it will be easy, but so many of the best things, the things that build our character are not easy.

I think everyone is more than a little freaked out in the beginning. When my husband was first banded he wanted me to feel his port, but ICK! Heck, I didn't even want to feel my own port .... why would I want to feel his? (he was banded almost 2 years before I was.... I do lots of crunches and ab stuff, no problems. Some want you to wait several weeks before you work out or lift anything, but other docs have no problems. I was horsebackriding 3 weeks after my banding.

Yeah, I know, the old joke is "does your nose smell" but seriously Trish, aren't you taking it a bit to seriously??? Honestly, let us know ASAP what the ENT said!

I thought I was going to wear a hole in my carpet from pacing. I knew it was the right thing, even though I turned out to be incredibly slow in losing weight. I have almost 50 NVS, which averages 8 NVS a week. 4 pounds gone since May, but about 33 NSVs since May.

I have a Dell Jukebox, just over 400 different CD's worth of music.... What do you want to listen to?

short distance from fat to filled
vinesqueen replied to guitarman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
We missed you! Anyway, you had too much restrction at 2.5 and not enough at 1.5... why not split the difference and got to 2.0? get a .5 fill... I'm at about 1.5 with some restriction, but not enough, I've lost 4 entire pounds since May, twice!... And some people do find a big difference with a +/- .1 fill difference -
okay... grudgingly.... I knew there was no way I had sleep apnea, and there was no way I needed one of those machines. I was just not sleeping anymore. I was suddenly chronically insomniatic, that was all, just suddenly. Well, it turns out, insomnia doesn't really happen that way. Turns out the reason I felt like I never got any sleep was because I didn't actually ever get any sleep. The average "normal" person has something like 20-30 "arousal periods" in a night where they are almost fully awake. I had over 180 arousal periods because I would stop breathing. 180 times a night I would stop breathing... And my snoring wasn't "that" bad. So. This is why I was concerened

I just want to give you guys praise...
vinesqueen replied to Tropicana's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks Tropicana! I know that we really make an effort to be supportive of everyone. We are not shy when we have to give tough love, but we try to always do it with love. I'm so proud of my fellow LBTers, for the compassion we have for not only each other, but the compassion we have for our selves. I hope that made sense! -

Okay, this is my favorite weather guy here in SE ID, but he just quit his job so he can devote all his time to researching peculiar weather phenomena… weather warfare: we are being attacked by Yakuza under direction from the FSB/KGB … So in early 1990, the weather engineering operations over North America were assumed from the FSB/KGB by the Yakuza/Aum Shinrikyo teams, and operations continued with the Yakuza's leased giant scalar interferometers. The weather engineering against the United States continues today under the rogue Japanese teams on site in Russia, with direct FSB/KGB supervision. (Tom Bearden) http://www.weatherwars.info/

Yeah, Miss "only 49 pounds lost, and only 26 pounds muscle gained!" Man, if I gained 26 pounds of muscle I would only need to lose about 25 pounds of fat...

Scared to death about my first fill! HELP!!
vinesqueen replied to Bensmum1109's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yeah, like Jack said, the fill was really anti-climatic... I'd worked my self into such a stage I had ear filled ears.... Yup, not eyes, but ears! honey-bunny, you have a long way to go before your fill, please try to not stress about this, honestly it isn't that big a deal. ((((hugs)))) -
Very glad to hear from you again! Glad all things are going well for you!
-
Let's put this into some perspective, shall we? You ate most of a SMALL pizza, not a medium, not a large, right???? and yes, I think you did this because you are human, just like Chichigirl pointed out. We all do these things, or things similar becaue we are human... You will be fine. Trust me. Hey, I went nuts for a couple of days and actually lost a pound. Finally!

Oh {{{{{{Trish!}}}}} don't be scared. It isn't like she told you to go to the ER right away, right? If it was super serious, she would have said to get your butt down to the ER, but she didn't, right? Right. You know we will be thinking about you all night and sending you positive energy. (((((hugs)))))

What she said! We love you Trish! If you have the nurse care line with your insurance, call that number tonight. I know you might feel silly doing it, but this is one of those times where you just swallow your pride and call. Also, for some of us, sinus infections always lead to lung infections. We don't want that for you, ever!!!
-
Yay! Excellent work!
-
Yikes! Yeah, I'm one vulnerable to sinus infections... Wait! Wednesday??? Get thee to the doctors right away!!!!
-
Thanks guys! But I want to know why when I go crazy eating I lost a pound???? Counter-intuitive.
