I had to have an unfill a week after my first fill. I've had two subsequent fills. I know that we had someone with the VGB, the Verticle Gastric Band a while back. this person said that they had one fill level for ever. I don't know how they are doing though. I would think this would make it so that you were in that sort of boat. Sorry I cannot be of more help in your decision.

In 4 months I lost 4 pound. I had my 3rd fill less than a week ago, and now I'm down 4 pound in a week. This I completely do not believe. The beginning of the week I was at around 1500 calories a week (up from my 1200) to close to 1000 after my fill. I went from 45% body fat in May to my current 41.9% as of tonight! Of course, someone could be playing a horrible joke one me. (probably the Ravens.)

Sunday, rode the recombant bike at the gym for 30 minutes, did arm weights for 15 minutes (5 pound dumb bells) light yoga 20 minutes and belly danced 40 minutes. Discovered that the yoga positions for the Sun Salutation is not a good idea after getting a fill. Ended up with the dry heaves on Thursday... Not good! So no more Sun Salutations for me!

I've seen it advertised, and I think they are soooo beutiful, but I haven't ordered any ...

Don't tell them about your band. It's not important in this case. As long as you can get it past your stoma and into your system, there is no band issue.

You don't have any over the counter remidies? The two main brands here are Pepto Bismal (the pink stuff) and Imodium. Talk to a different chemist and just ask for something for diarea.

My brother in law eats and eats an eats and never gains weight. My brothers both had a serious coke & speed problems... I think that altered their matabolisms, both are scrawny, while the sisters are buillt like Amazons. One guy I know is bulimic, as is another woman. One couple just took up running recently and have lost a good amount of weight, but they weren't skinny to begin with, one woman has been researching anorexia sites to learn to be anorexic.

Our DeLarla had to have her port removed, but hasn't been able to get a new one yet. Part of it because she's just not prepaired mentally or emotionally for yet another surgury. I've never chewed something and then spit it out if I could swallow it. I have chewed something and then determined that there was no way it was going to go past my band and then spit it out. If I know it won't go down, I don't risk it. But, I"m not a gum chewer either.

the only body parts that have nick names for us are our piggies and pinkies. And of course, you hava pinkie piggy, a.k.a. baby toe. Which is odd, now that I think of it, that it's called a baby toe, considering all parts have the same age.

If by low GI, you are refering to low glycimic index? Yes, I've been using this method of eating for several years now, fat lot of good it has done me... It is frustrating and demoralizing! The only thing I changed, besides getting a fill and dropping my calories for half a week was to actually increase my carb intake. 1200-1500 calories wasn't doing any good, so that's why I dropped to 1000. Thanks Donali, I will start researching body building techniques. I may have to turn into one if I want to see results, or the results I think I want anyway. I think dropping my calories down to the sub-1000 range is insanity. I know that some people are losing weight rapidly, but you are right, at what cost in the long term? I know that most people would be calling up Jenna for a Booty Shaking Dance but I"m suspicous of the loss. I don't think it's real. I don't trust it. Someone get me a huggy jacket!

Yikes! I haven't heard that you can develop stones because your bile duct is gone (I think). I do know that I can't eat lots of greasy foods or I just feel sick... No pain though. Sorry you are going through this!

Excellent question! I don't know that I've ever really thought about this. I just know I'm big boned/large framed. I'm a Amazon. Okay, right now I'm a fat Amazon, but one still the same. We are, in a word, sturdy. My son's GF is a tiny little bird, she weighs about 95 pounds. The Spudboy delights in carrying her all around, he just scoops her up and runs up the sairs with her. Being an Amazon, that will probably never happen to me. Has never happened to me.
