    scared-to-death, now :(

Hi Patti, I don't know what you are basing your idea that most people don't lose weight. The average banster does lose between 1-2 pounds a week. The first month, six to eight weeks is NOT for losing weight, it is for healing. Any weight lost during this time is bonus. Some people lose, some don't, but that isn't what this time is for. You should be able to drink an 8 ounce glass of Water without any problems. If you are too tight, then you are too tight. You might or might not be able to gulp, but that's something that no one will be able to tell. As for whether you will find someone to do you fills, well, you better figure this out before you have your band. The band surgery is only the beginning, the real work is in monitoring the fills. You need to find a fill doctor before you even have your surgery. I cannot stress how important this is. You might check the threads dedicated to your two states to see if anyone know of a fill doc in your area. I can't offer any insight to insurance questions. I know what mine covers, but that's mine and not yours. Sorry Even as so as my journey has been, I would have it done again in a heart beat.
  3. Well, not sure what you mean by "more than I should." Are you eating until you are satisifed, and still losing weight? Your numbers look really good

    Archives?

There are a couple of posts I want to bump, one is called "I hate fat people" and I know it was from last Spring. A guy started it, but I don't remember who. Also, I would like to bump my "no help for the wicked" thread. I think that's is what it's called. Wicked is in the title though. I posted it in Feb. Thanks to anyone who can find them!

I feel awful, and it feels great!

I know, you can send a registered letter to your sister with something about your band, it being a: multiphasal silicon and titanium surgical implant causing capricious and erratic indications in modifying and/or altering in body mass. Uhm, Congrats on the PB?

    Belly/Abdominal FAT!!!

spot reducing doesn't work, if this ius your question. Wish it did though. Fat goes where fat wants to go. And comes off when and if it wants.

    Head Hunger Issues

Hi Loopylo! Somehow I dont think I've ever been described that way, but I am one who peroidically obsesses completely over calories. Completely and totally obsessed with them. Fat lot of good it has done me, but that is where I am currently in my life, and have been for the better part of a year. I'm so sorry you feel this way. I know I certianly don't view you as a failure, or disgusting. Do people really feel this way? I suppose they must, at some level. I'll have to go bumping a few threads. Perhaps you need to stop viewing food as "good vs. evil/bad"? Just as emotions are neither good nor bad, there is no value associated with them, they just are. If I get really supper pissed off at someone, like the jerk that almost ran me over the other night, then that anger would be bad. But it isn't, it is just anger. Just as ice cream and cheese cake are just ice cream and cheese cake, I must admit that I have emotions attached to ice cream. For me, ice cream = love. Something from my father, and probably the only time I felt safe as a child was when we were all eating ice cream. Hmmm, have to think about that. I think your idea for a scrap book is a very good idea. And positive affermations are always a good idea.

    High BMI Before Surgery

Hey Tonya, my DH isnt' on this board, he wants me to have my own support place where I cant talk trash about him. My DH's starting BMI was in the 80s, which of course is meaningless. His starting weight was 600 pounds. They did him labroscopically, and he had to stay in hospital a few extra days because of some minor complications

Not Use What To Do About My Fill

Not sure Dianne, I'd suggest calling your doctor, since it has been a while. If you are sill losing the 1-2 pounds a week, then you probably don't need a fill.

Went to TJ today 2 get some fill OUT

I'm a bit too tight too, but I'm not PBin every day, and I'm on solids foods. But I can only manage about 700 calories, solids, but it isn't enough. I'll be getting some taken out when I got home No leak!

    considering insanity

Yup, I get plenty of Water, and I take benifiber quite frequenly, nearly everynight, espically now that i'm so darn tight. And I've tired the mixing it up like you suggest Eileen, too, but that didn't work any more than anything else has Good point about the meds Paula. I 've check my meds myself, and weight gain was only an indicator when I was on birth control this summer. I am still gaining and losing those same five pounds.

Part 2 feeling even MORE Stupid...

Oh no Babsybaby, you are not an imbicile by any stretch. some times we need to see if it really was the food or the technique... I thought turkey was going to kill me a few weeks ago, and I tried turkey lunch meat tonight. And I just got done with the dry heaves. So, no turkey for us! It's the food, and not the technique!

    restless leg syndrome

I've had this for as long as I can remember. It will be so bad and I have to actually kick and do leg lifts for an hour until I physically cannot move my legs any more, but that doesn't mean that I don't want to anymore. I've spent countless night pacing and daning around trying to get them worn out. The temp of the room doesn't make any difference for me. My mother finds that Folic Acid works for her, and if I don't eat enough broccoli, my RLS gets worse. (broccoli is full of folic acid) I take mirapex for my RLS, and it does make me very sleepy, but I'm fine to go in the morning.

    Suicidal thoughts with obesity?

I cannot vote either. I have not felt suicidal over my weight, but I do not believe it is rediculous. I know some people are in real pain over their weight. I am not one of those people., but I cannot vote
  21. Here is my before and during. The before was taken last news years' day, and the other one is from late Sept 26, not that anything has really changed from September to now. Huge difference between January and September.

    Sudden loss of restriction

Well, if you have that much fill, maybe you should take a break. Some of our other long term bandsters have reported that they will have a complete unfill for a coulpe of months, and then WHAM!!! they get super restricted on just half of what they had before. I might wait until AFTER the New Years to get that unfill though.

? about first few days after band

Hey Dawn, you will be fine. I didn't have 3 weeks, but it sure felt that way. My surgery went swimmingly, and I was even shopping the next morning right out of the hospital. By 3 weeks out, I was horseback riding.
  24. vinesqueen

    Sudden loss of restriction

Onestly, I think that because you have lost weight, AND BULK from all your excersizing, you have more room inside your tummy. Because there is less pressure on your internal organs, there is less pressure on your band. Because there is less pressure on your band, there is less pressure on your stomach. Because there is less pressure on your stomach, there is less restriction. You probably need a fill. (they don't evaporate, but you know that, silly bug.)
